Mandy's Not So Into Looking Like Nicole

Mandy is not your average young starlet in any shape or form. She's not a regular at Hyde, she managed to get through her teens without a stint in rehab, and she's not a size 2. This is one of the many reasons Mandy has been one of our favorites. Mandy gets real in Seventeen Magazine when she discusses the pressure to be thin in Hollywood. We think it's funny that she chose to pick Nicole as the example of the starlet to compare herself too, especially since the interview probably took place well before she started dating her ex-fiancé. Here are some highlights from Mandy in Seventeen magazine:

On the Hollywood body type:
In this industry it's my job to look a certain way or whatnot-and it's weird for me too. But I'm much happier to represent this type of person. I'm not Nicole Richie. I'm not like a toothpick, and I never will be. I'm just a regular-looking person-and that's okay. It's taken a while to come to grips with that since it's definitely not the norm in my business. But like, who cares? If anything, that makes someone more special- or at least that's what I tell myself.
On people telling her to lose weight
I've had people tell me that before. And I have to say, there is nothing more mortifying than someone being like, "Maybe you could lose a couple pounds." Oh my God, it's the most hurtful thing.
How she deals with the pressure:
I think [doing] everything in moderation-that's the key for me in life. I want to be healthy, but in an industry where you can't wear a sample size because it's like a 0 or a 2, it makes you feel bad about yourself. To go to a photo shoot, it's like, Ugh, God, can't you just at least get a regular size, like a 6 or 8 or something?

Mandy may have been pretty MIA in 2006 but she is all over in 2007. She just screened Dedication at Sundance and Because I Said So, her film with Diane Keaton came in second at the box office this weekend.

She may not have any interest in looking like Nicole but they obviously have the same taste in men!

Because Mandy Says So

It seems as if everyday we see new pictures of Mandy and DJ AM, but last night at the premiere of Because I Said So, she walked the red carpet solo. It was more of a girls' night out with her fabulous co-stars including Diane Keaton and Piper Perabo. Even though the emphasis should be on the movie and these wonderful actresses, we've got more news on Mandy and her dating dislikes. People reports:

"I don't enjoy dating in the public eye. I don't even really enjoy dating," the actress, 22, told PEOPLE at Tuesday's Hollywood premiere of her new romantic comedy Because I Said So. "I find it really not fun. When it comes to the romantic side of things, I would rather be a girl in a relationship than dating."

Asked if she is dating Nicole Richie's ex, she smiled, shrugged and said, "I don't know."

Because I Said So director Michael Lehman also weighed in on Moore's love life, telling PEOPLE: "In my dealings with her where I'd ask her about her relationships and stuff, she was very up front and out there. At the time we were making this, she was dating Zach Braff. He came to the set a few times. They seemed to have a very solid relationship. ... So I never asked her about the turmoil."

We just want all good things for Mandy so if being a serial monogamist is her thing than more power to her. We just hope hope hope DJ AM is not using her since he is getting plenty of wanted press from being attached to Mandy. Winona Shares A Lot About Her Private Life

Winona Ryder sat down for a photo shoot and chatted about her life in the latest issue of BlackBook magazine. She has a film, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee to promote, but Winona had plenty of other things to discuss. Winona talked about a variety of topics, from her famous exes like Matt Damon and Johnny Depp to her feelings about Angelina Jolie winning the Oscar for Girl, Interrupted. Here's more:

On dating Johnny Depp: "Things changed for me when I met Johnny. This weird thing happens when you’re written about in magazines, where you start to think, 'This is who I am. This is how I have to be.' I felt restricted and pressured into being the way people perceived me. It was hard for me to find my footing. The Johnny thing made me really afraid of the press because, even though it was about him, I was beside him the entire time."
On her relationship with Matt Damon: "Matt couldn’t be a greater, nicer guy. I’m really lucky that I’m on good terms with him. . . With Johnny, it’s like we’re good, but we lead very different lives. I was out at a bar with a friend who said, 'Do you realize that in America you’re never going to be able to meet a guy who knows nothing about you? Everyone will have preconceived ideas about who you are.' I got so bummed out. I’d never really thought about it that way."
On knowing Angelina Jolie since Girl, Interrupted: "I never had any bad feelings about Angelina. . . And I was hurt that people thought that. Everyone assumed I was really jealous because I thought this would be my vehicle. . . We said from the very beginning that the actress who played Lisa would probably win an Oscar, because it was the big, great, showy part. But I always related to Susanna. I fought very hard for her to have that part, and I never really felt like I got the chance to know her."

January Skips the Bra, Drinks a Few Beers For GQ

January Jones let down her hair during an incredibly sultry shoot for November's cover of GQ. In the interview she loses her Betty Draper veneer from Mad Men and opens up about her career so far and even an old boyfriend, speculated to be ex Ashton Kutcher, who was less than supportive of her acting career. She conducted the interview over a few drinks and talked about getting in trouble for chewing tobacco and playing quarters on a plane, her high school drinking records, beer pong abilities, and how she navigated Hollywood. January is refreshingly real and a little brazen, but perhaps the biggest testament to her acting is how she's very much not just her onscreen counterpart. Here are highlights:

On her ex boyfriend: "The guy I was dating when I first got to LA was not supportive of my acting. He was like, I don't think you're going to be good at this. So - f*ck you! He only has nice things to say now - if anything, I should thank him. Because the minute you tell me I can't do something, that's when I'm most motivated."
On the roles she's being offered: "I'd never really played a mom or a wife before and all of a sudden I'm getting all these lonely mom and wife offers. I don't want to get stuck."
On growing up: "I hung out with dudes in high school. We were the hippies-into the Dead, Zeppelin, Phish. I was a lifeguard at the water park, and I remember the day Jerry died. Over the loudspeaker, it said: 'Jerry Garcia has died. Everybody meet in the parking lot.' I probably shouldn’t say that-we were saving lives! But that was definitely a sit-in-the-chair-with-sunglasses afternoon."

On transitioning from modeling to acting: "You're like an object. They move you around. And I felt like, God, I'm miserable. I hate modeling. When I moved back to New York, the agency said I owed them $20,000. So I left the agency and then-very quickly-decided to go to LA and try acting. Without any training."
On Betty: "I don't have a lot in common with Betty, but I'm very protective of her. I just feel like she's trying really hard to make her life good, and make her marriage work, and it just seems hypocritical that when she slips up, people get mad. Because Don does it all the f*cking time."

Happy Jennifer Aniston Can Fight Dirty If Necessary

Jennifer Aniston grinned as she left one of her regular spots, Sunset Tower, in LA last night. She's been working hard to plug her new film with Aaron Eckhart, Love Happens, which also made Buzz's list of Fall romances to watch. The story has Jen's character falling in love with a self-help author and the actress opened up in an interview about her feelings on advice books and more. Here are some highlights:

On reading self-help books: "I'm always going to be interested if somebody gives me a self-help book. I'll at least give it the first couple of pages because sometimes they speak and sometimes they don't. But they're worth investigating. I say to people who look down their noses at motivational books, 'Screw them.' I'm telling you, people have got to mind their own business. It just shows, so obviously, their own fear or resentment. They put down somebody else's choice to sort of make themselves feel superior. They could probably use a little self-help themselves."
On her arguing style: "I'm not a fighter, I'm a discusser. I could probably use more fight in me. I don't yell. I talk. I can get dirty. I've been guilty of dirty fighting. But usually I don't like to fight. I like it to be harmonious and fun. So the quicker we can discuss an issue and get through it, the sooner we get back to the fun."
On her personal life: "I feel like it's no one's business. I don't know about your life. I don't want to, truthfully. It's not my business. It's a very strange thing. But somehow it's like there was some clause somewhere that said, 'Well, you're a public person, so we get to go into your house and search through your drawers.' I don't know who came up with it because I wouldn't have signed on. I don't think anybody would have."

Beyonce and Taylor Reconnect in the Press Room

Many of the big winners from last night's MTV VMAs headed backstage after picking up their moonmen to pose for photos in the press room. Ladies in red Taylor Swift and Beyonce Knowles were together again after their special moment on stage, when Beyonce invited Taylor back to finish the acceptance speech Kanye West had interrupted. He apologized for his outburst already, and Taylor even addressed the incident. She said, "I don't know him, and I've never met him, so . . . I don't want to start anything because I had a great night." Elsewhere in the press room, three blondes Madonna, Kristin Cavallari, and Lady GaGa enjoyed a few photo ops before heading out to make the rounds at all the afterparties.

Janet Opens Up All About Michael and Love For Harper's Bazaar

Janet Jackson sat down with Harper's Bazaar for her first interview since the death of her brother Michael earlier this Summer. It's been a challenging few months for Janet - in addition to the loss of Michael, she also parted ways with her longtime boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri. She took a break from filming Tyler Perry's new film and working on her next album to talk about Michael's passing, his children, and being newly single. Here's more:

On avoiding the news after Michael's death: "It will drive you crazy. People can have rhinoceros skin, but there's a point when something's going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven't watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, 'How's Obama doing?' I haven't read a newspaper."
On Paris Jackson's emotional speech at Michael's tribute: "I was really proud. People said to me that Michael's daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She's a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They're with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going."
On being single after seven years with Jermaine: "I don't know if I'll get married again. I'll put it like this: If God wants me to, then I will . . . I've had people ask me out. I haven't entertained any offers thus far, but I'm locking myself in my work right now."
On Michael's legacy: "It's so beyond. I can't even begin. It's on so many different levels. Bringing light and love and happiness. He's just got so much love, and so much heart, and so much power through his music. Children and his love for children. People have told me, 'I am an American citizen because of your brother.' He wrote them a letter or something. He was just that giving, loving person. And the greatest entertainer there ever was. And is. I hope people get a glimpse of him now, some sort of picture."

Jake and Natalie's Interview Involves Obscene Rapping

Natalie Portman looks sultry in black and white like Chace Crawford for the September issue of Interview. She is currently juggling multiple projects while also promoting her directorial debut in New York, I Love You. Her Brothers costar Jake Gyllenhaal conducted the interview and he got Natalie talking about her love of rap, My Little Ponies, and the optimistic way she views the recession. Here are some highlights:

On what song describes her current state: "My current state . . . I’m trying to think of a song that feels like sleepwalking. [laughs] I don’t know. I’ve mostly been listening to dirty rap lately. That’s sort of my scene . . . Really, really obscene hip-hop. I love it so much. It makes me laugh and then it makes me want to dance. Those are like my two favorite things, so combined . . . I’ve been listening a lot lately to 'Wait (The Whisper Song)' by the Ying Yang Twins, where the lyrics are like, 'Wait ’til you see my d*ck' - which is just amazing because it’s whispered. [whispers] 'Wait ’til you see my d*ck . . . ' [laughs] Crazy. So I just listen to it like I’m a five-year-old, like, 'Oh my god! I can’t believe he just said that!'"
On what skills she'd put on a job resume: "As far as skills go . . . I don’t have that many skills. [Jake: "Oh come on!"] I’m serious. I really wish I could make something. I mean, you’re a really good cook, you know how to build things - you can make things with your hands. I can’t make anything . . . Well, I can make chitchat, but not much else. I mean, I’d basically have trouble with any job that doesn’t require me to wear silly clothes and talk in funny voices . . . And so I’m an actor."

On the recession: "I think it’s kind of an exciting time. I mean, everyone is cutting back. It’s happening in every industry - including our own. But I think that’s going to translate into a situation where people aren’t motivated by money as much as they have been in the recent past. A lot of my friends from college went into fields like banking for financial reasons - obviously people have school loans and things to pay off. And now, all of a sudden, they’re doing jobs that they hate and they’re not making as much money as they thought they would or they’ve lost their jobs entirely. So I’ve started to see people looking more toward their own passions and what really excites them. Obviously it’s much easier to say that you’re going to follow your passions when you’re financially secure, but at least we can take solace in the fact that we now have the time to pursue the things that we really want to pursue because now the option of doing things just for the money isn’t necessarily there."

Chace Stays in Control of His Interviews

Chace Crawford slicked his hair back and put on a few temporary tattoos for the upcoming issue of Interview. He's currently filming the new season of Gossip Girl, but Chace found time to chat with the magazine about his privacy, his many fans, and life with his old roommate Ed Westwick. Here's more:

On deciding to live with Ed Westwick: "I wanted to live in a really nice building, and he really didn’t care. I also didn’t want to be paying an arm and a leg for rent . . . Ed’s girlfriend was in town most of the time for the pilot we shot in ’07. So we hung out a little bit and talked about getting a place. We talked to Penn, too, but he had shot a show in New York before and was living, I think, with Milo Ventimiglia. Penn said, 'No, but good luck. I’m over the roommate situation.' So I called up Ed and was like, 'Hey, man, I’m going to New York tomorrow. Do you want to room with me?' He’s like [faking British accent], 'Yeah, why not?' So I looked around and sent him a few pics of the place I found and he said [faking British accent], 'Is there any extra room for guest bedrooms?' I was like, 'What are you talking about? This is New York. What do you want, a game room? Let’s just make space for a ping-pong room as well.' [laughs] Ed had no idea. But the apartment was in a nice building, and it had a great roof deck. We’d hang out up there all the time with our friends, and it was private."

About fan overload while filming: "You’re having a serious conversation, looking someone in the eye, but everywhere around you, it’s literally a circus. Sometimes I sit back and laugh. . . It’s funny because everyone wants to know what’s happening on set. There isn’t anything shocking to write about, so magazines want to stir things up, like, 'Blake and Leighton hate each other.' But the truth is, when we’re all done with work, it’s like, 'Hey, what are you doing? Let’s go do karaoke.' The publicity factor is outrageous. They just want to shoot you down. So that can definitely wear on you a bit. A perception of you is created, and you really have no control over it. To some degree, you learn to adapt. But you also think, 'Eff you, you don’t know me.'"
On his personal life: "I’m the biggest believer in not talking. I don’t Twitter or MySpace or Facebook. I want to keep to myself. I don’t want to be out there. You have to keep some kind of control over who you are."

Heidi and Spencer Overshare About Their Sex Life in Playboy

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt joined Kim Kardashian and Stephanie Pratt to film scenes for The Hills at a Brent Bolthouse photography exhibit in LA last night. Heidi's Playboy cover hits shelves tomorrow, but the interview portion is out now. Spencer conducted the questioning of his wife, in an article that provided way TMI about their sex life. The quotes speak for themselves, so here are a few highlights:

On LC's rumored sex tape: Heidi: "There are a few moments I’d like to see blasted into space forever. Like when you apologized to Lauren Conrad for the sex-tape rumors so she would come to the wedding, when we know for a fact she did have a sex tape." Spencer: "I would have said anything so you could have your dream princess wedding . . . But I was lying about being apologetic, and I hate lying . . . Yes, I facilitated the rumor, but it was true. Lauren was acting like she was little miss perfect goody two-shoes while [her ex-boyfriend] Jason Wahler was trying to shop the tape. That tape exists!"
Heidi to Spencer on their sex life: "You know, I was never very sexual before I met you, Spencer. I knew what sex was, but when I met you I entered into a whole new realm of understanding, from fantasy to love . . . Now it's something I look forward to every minute of the day. [Joining the Mile High Club] was maybe the best experience I've ever had in my entire life . . .You’re waking me up to what’s possible, and it makes me want to try every new thing, doing it all kinds of ways- indoors, outdoors, upside down."
Heidi to Spencer on her implants: "Well, when I was shopping for my boobs, I wanted the best, so I sat down and flipped through a bunch of Playboys. The women are so hot - Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Marilyn Monroe, all the Playmates. So iconic . . . I honestly believe God didn’t invent our bodies for us to be ashamed of them. The body is a beautiful creation. If anything, the reason I didn’t show everything is because I plan to get a few more upgrades . . . I think I want to go bigger on my boobs for you."
