The Garner-Afflecks Stop by the Farmers Market and Stock Up on Healthy Treats

Jennifer Garner packed up the car and headed out to Pasadena on Saturday with Violet and Seraphina Affleck to visit with friends. Yesterday, Jen and the girls stopped off at the Pacific Palisades farmers market before meeting up with Ben later in the day to watch a school play. Even though weekends are filled with activities with the kids, the busy parents of three recently snuck away from their nightly duties for a romantic low-key date night. Jen and Ben sipped cocktails at Hollywood's Whiskey Blue and were spotted looking very affectionate. The two have been all smiles since the birth of their first son, Samuel, in February, and Ben even paid a special tribute to Jen on Mother's Day, calling Jen a "world-class" mom.

Ben Affleck Has a Busy Saturday With Violet and Seraphina

Ben Affleck kept an eye on daughters Violet and Seraphina Affleck Saturday while out shopping in LA. The trio swung by Williams-Sonoma, possibly picking up a Mother's Day present for Jennifer Garner, and happened to run into Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez outside the shop. Ben and Halle shared a hug and chatted before the groups went on their separate ways.

Later in the afternoon, Ben swung by Hank Azaria's Playing for Good poker tournament. Yesterday was all about Jennifer for the Garner-Affleck family. Last week, though, Ben got a head start on the Mother's Day celebrations. Ben posted a video on Facebook thanking the ladies in his life, saying, "I want to say Happy Mother's Day to the moms in my life: my mom Chris and my amazing wife Jennifer, who is an incredible, spectacular, world-class mom."

Argo Trailer: Ben Affleck Is a CIA Operative Turned Fake Film Director

Ben Affleck directs and stars in Argo, his first film since 2010's critically acclaimed The Town. The political flick is based on the hostage crisis that occurred in Iran in 1979, and stars Affleck as CIA "exfiltrationist" Tony Mendez. The movie follows him as he heads up a covert mission to rescue six escaped hostages hiding in the basement of the Canadian ambassador.

Ben Affleck is a skilled director, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with this real-life espionage story. The trailer itself was not what I expected; it's downright serious, then gets much lighter. But with a supporting cast of John Goodman, Alan Arkin, and Bryan Cranston, I'm anticipating a pretty solid movie. Argo comes out Oct. 12, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.

Jennifer Garner was on mom duty with daughters Seraphina and Violet in LA on Saturday morning. She took the girls to ballet class while Ben was taking care of his own errands nearby in the city. The two parents have been sticking close to home with their new son Samuel over the past few months, though they did make time for date night this week. Ben showed off his hot new haircut out with Jennifer on Wednesday afternoon before their romantic dinner together. Ben has been putting the finishing touches on his latest directorial and acting project, Argo, while Jen is getting ready for a Summer of promoting her film The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Ben Affleck attended the Children Mending Hearts benefit event in Pacific Palisades yesterday with several celebrity friends. His wife Jennifer Garner was also spotted at the fundraising party. Ben and Jennifer welcomed new baby Samuel last month, and kids were top of mind at the weekend bash, which helped raise money in support of after-school programs. Ben spent some time catching up with George Clooney's producing partner Grant Heslov during the outdoor festivities and also made time to take pictures with a few of his young fans. Tobey and Jennifer Maguire, Adam Pally of Happy Endings, and Sam Trammell of True Blood were among the other guests at the party, and manning the turntables was none other than Connor Cruise. Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise's son is pursuing a career as a DJ and has been spinning at several high-profile events as of late.
