Ryan Gosling Brings Back His Hot

Ryan Gosling looked like a hot and vastly improved version of himself at a screening of Lars and the Real Girl in NYC last night. While the mustache is still pretty ridiculous, his handsome somehow shines through. He cozied up to his costars, Emily Mortimer and Patricia Clarkson, who are also excellent in the movie - which I wholeheartedly recommend. Loved it. Gosling seems to have slimmed down quickly since leaving the cast of The Lovely Bones, which makes me think that it can't really have been his bulkiness that cost him the role, right? Even though I'll miss him in that movie, just seeing him all gussied up is such a treat. And no, I'm not going to mention how much I wish Rachel McAdams was on his arm. Damn, I kinda just did anyway, right?

Oscar Morning

Brokeback Mountain got 8 nominations for Oscar hopefuls this morning. What a way to kick off the day for Heath and Jake. The film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and best Supporting Actor for Jake and Michelle. What a year for this young group and Jake must be so psyched especially since he was overlooked at the Globes. I told you this movie was insanely good!!! Hopefully they will continue to roll out to more cities in case you have not had a chance to see it yet.

Also having a fabulous morning, the dashing George Clooney. He got 3 noms for Supporting Actor in Syriana, direction and his co-screenwriting in Good Night, and Good Luck, which is also in the running as Best Picture. Both Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were nominated as Best Actors but Walk the Line missed out on a best-picture nominee.

More to come as we wake up to hear people's reactions and start making bets on who will take home the Oscar on March 5th.
