Bill Murray Is Franklin D. Roosevelt in the Hyde Park on Hudson Trailer

Bill Murray takes on a presidential role as Franklin D. Roosevelt in the upcoming film, Hyde Park on Hudson. He's joined by Laura Linney, playing his distant cousin (and love interest?) Margaret Stuckley. Based on true events, the film takes place over a weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of England came to visit the president at his residence in Upstate New York. It may sound stuffy, but you know it can't be a snooze with Murray leading the way.

It's refreshing to see the former Ghostbuster in a period role like this. He gives the wheelchair-bound FDR some spark without making a caricature out of him. I also like the Downton Abbey-esque way some of the story is being shown from the point of view of the maids and servers of the house. I'm not totally convinced I'm into it yet, but with a Dec. 7 release date, you can bet this is prime Oscar bait. Check out the trailer when you

Ed Norton, Wes Anderson, and Tilda Swinton Kick Off Cannes!

The Cannes Film Festival is officially underway! This evening's Moonrise Kingdom will be the first premiere of the week and the cast got together earlier this morning for their photocall. Wes Anderson was surrounded by his cast, including Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, and Ed Norton. The movie actually centers around a love story between two young actors, Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward, who were also on hand for the event.

Much of this crew is like family already, since they've worked together on so many of Wes's movies, and they certainly looked excited to show off their new project in this gorgeous setting. We're on the ground in Cannes, too, bringing you all the action. Moonrise Kingdom Trailer: Bruce Willis and Edward Norton Go Retro in Wes Anderson's Latest

Ever since we heard Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola were teaming up to write a screenplay, we've been patiently waiting for the trailer to present itself. Today, we finally got a taste of what Moonrise Kingdom has in store. And although it's live-action flick, Anderson's latest feels a lot more like Fantastic Mr. Fox than The Royal Tenenbaums. Set in a dreamy 1960s haze, 12-year-olds Suzy and Sam fall in love and plot to run away together deep into the New England forest. (This should prove to be no issue since Sam is a Khaki Scout, and his troop leader is Edward Norton.)

In true Wes Anderson fashion, there's an all-star cast with the usual suspects like Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray, along with some new names like Tilda Swinton, Bruce Willis, and Frances McDormand. Gwyneth Paltrow and Bill Murray Reunite to Mark 10 Years Since Tenenbaums

Gwyneth Paltrow took the stage at the New York Film Festival for a special event honoring the 10-year anniversary of The Royal Tenenbaums. In the movie, Gwyneth memorably played the kooky character Margot - and on every Oct. 31 since 2001, there have been plenty of people dressed up in Margot Tenenbaum costumes! Gwyneth joined costars Bill Murray and Anjelica Huston for pictures and a Q&A session with director Wes Anderson as well as co-writer Noah Baumbach. She tweeted a photo from the event, captioning it, "Leaving a special 10th anniversary screening of The Royal Tenenbaums at the NY film festival. I can't believe I'm Margot." The evening of reminiscence came for Gwyneth during a break from her latest Big Apple project. Gwyneth's filming Thanks For Sharing with Mark Ruffalo, and work on that project has taken them from Central Park to Brooklyn and Harlem.

Wes Anderson Lines Up Starry Cast For Moon Rise Kingdom

Get ready for another film from the loopy mind of Wes Anderson! The writer/director is at work on his next project Moon Rise Kingdom, and he's attracting the likes of Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, and old favorite Bill Murray.

Set in the 1960s, Moon Rise Kingdom centers on young paramours who run away together and the aftermath of their disappearance. Willis is in talks to play the local sheriff who is having an affair with the girl's mother (McDormand); Murray will play the girl's father. As for Norton, he's a scout leader who enlists his troop to search for the couple. No word yet on Swinton's role, though I'm sure it'll be just as delightfully oddball as the rest of them. Although I loved last year's stop-motion Fantastic Mr. Fox, I'm pleased as punch to see Anderson direct actors again. The real question is: who will play the young couple in question?

Movie Preview: Robert Duvall and Bill Murray Get Low

Bill Murray has come a long way since his prime years in films like Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters, but I still have a soft spot for the comedic actor - which is just part of the reason I was excited to see Get Low at Sundance this year. Murray plays funeral director Frank Quinn, who sees a gold mine opportunity when "mysterious hermit" Felix Bush (Robert Duvall) comes into his office looking to make arrangements for his own "death party." The catch is that Bush wants to be present at the ceremony to mingle with the locals - after cutting himself off from society for four years.

The word of Felix's party slowly spreads as the townspeople's intrigue is captured by Felix's story and background. Where has he been all these years? Why is he throwing himself a party? As we see in the trailer, Felix's party becomes the perfect platform for him to finally spill his darkest secret. The trailer adds a spooky element, though I found it to be on the sweet side in the end. Even if the plot can get a little sleepy at times, I was really impressed with the performances from veterans Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, and of course, Bill Murray. See for yourself when you

Sundance Snapshot: Get Low

Hello from snowy Sundance! Once I got settled in to Park City (and stopped by the Howl red carpet to chat with Jon Hamm and James Franco), it was time to start the screenings. Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing my thoughts about the movies I check out, giving you guys a preview of the films that may go on to be the blockbusters (or bombs!) of the future. First on the list is Get Low.

Who's behind it? Directed by Aaron Schneider, the film stars Bill Murray, Robert Duvall, Lucas Black, and Sissy Spacek.
What's it about? Felix Bush has been living in an isolated cabin in the woods of Tennessee for 40 years. Blocking out the 1930s society around him, his only interactions are with the boys who dare trespass on his territory, hoping for a glimpse of a local legend. The stories of Felix's eccentricities grow right along with his long white beard, and the hermit adds fuel to the fire when he makes an appearance in town. Felix asks a local funeral director to arrange a "funeral party" for him as a means to gather all the locals to share their respective stories about him. Here's the twist: Felix wants to schedule the party before he dies so that he can actually attend.

What did I think? When you put veterans like Murray, Spacek, and Duvall in a movie together, stellar performances are pretty much guaranteed. Duvall is particularly impressive as wacky old Felix, especially when his complexities slowly begin to unravel. I was also pleasantly surprised with Lucas Black, who held his own among Hollywood's heavy hitters.

The plot itself was a bit slow and dragging at times, but it has enough charm to keep it afloat, and ends on a sad yet satisfying note. The movie is worthy of a pickup, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the little film fly under the radar and disappear into the background either.

Fantastic Mr. Fox: Lives Up to Its Title

For the past five years, Wes Anderson's wide fan base has been waiting for his first fully animated film. Would his adaption of Roald Dahl's children's book, Fantastic Mr. Fox appease the same crowd that holds Bottle Rocket and The Royal Tenenbaums near and dear to their hearts? The answer is an emphatic yes, and the best news is that you don't even have to enjoy Anderson's other work to fall in love with this film.

The story follows the wily Mr. Fox, a professional robber turned family man (er, fox) who just isn't satisfied with his quiet life working as a newspaper columnist. Even a move to prime real estate isn't enough to satiate his appetite for a little trouble making, and Mr. Fox (or "Foxy" as his friends call him) decides to take on the biggest adventure of his life. That's just the tip of the iceberg though, so

Mr. Fox isn't your average wild animal; in fact he's just the opposite. He lives a civilized life with his wife Felicity (Meryl Streep) and 12-year-old son, Ash, making an honest living. Like a kid who can't sit still, Mr. Fox has trouble curbing his desires to rebel and go back to his life stealing squab and running into trouble. Against his wife's wishes, Mr. Fox convinces his dim-witted but trusty sidekick Kylie (Wally Wolodarski) to take on one last hurrah. The crime? Ripping off the three biggest (and meanest) farmers around - Boggis, Bunce and Bean. When Mr. Fox starts an all-out war, he is forced to join forces with his family, friends, and neighbors - and that's where the fun begins.

The film's brilliance lies in the fact that Fantastic Mr. Fox is a movie for grown-ups disguised as a kiddie flick. Even with Anderson's name stamped all over it, there's no denying the furry animals dressed as humans. The animation makes the plot play out like a story book come to life; we're taken deep into the fox hole and beyond in a world that looks like a dollhouse made for fuzzy creatures. Kids will love the adventure and the colors, but the witty dialogue and quirky characters are made for the grown-ups.

The movie features a crew of lovable characters who deliver hilarious one-liners when they aren't breaking into impromptu dances. There's nothing new about a movie featuring animals acting like humans, but the actors make the movie the gem that it is. Jason Schwartzman playing a crabby 12-year-old but using his regular deep voice is genius. Clooney and Bill Murray (as badger, Mr. Fox's lawyer) bantering back and forth but replacing swears with the word "cuss" never gets old (as in "This place is a cluster cuss" and "What the cuss is wrong with you?").

Rare is the animated film with this much wit, cleverness, and chemistry between characters, but Fantastic Mr. Fox hits it right on the head. Score one more for Mr. Anderson.
