The Academy members have picked their winners, but the nominees weren't the only ones whose performances were up for discussion at this year's Oscars. Host Billy Crystal came back to host the show for the ninth time, and we asked you guys how you thought he did. Billy Crystal as Oscar Host: Solid Gold or Getting Old?

Billy Crystal took on hosting duties for this year's Oscars, and the seasoned vet (this was his ninth time as emcee) seemed comfortable being back on stage. As I'd hoped, Crystal brought back his trademarks, like the opening montage spoofing the nominees, along with his song-and-dance medley that skewered stars and movies alike (sample lyric: "George is cracking up because his wife is shackin' up"). I enjoyed Crystal's hosting, mainly because it felt pretty classic; then again, using his old routines may have felt safe or boring to some people. Still, it was far better than Anne Hathaway and James Franco's effort last year. I'd like to hear what you guys thought of Crystal, though - do you think he succeeded as host or not?

I'm already excited about Billy Crystal hosting the Oscars this year, and this "trailer" is just reaffirming that emotion. Crystal usually kicks off the show with movie spoofs, and this preview for the Oscar broadcast has that same sort of spirit. Called "Off the Grid," it's studded with stars like Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Robin Williams, and more as they set off to find the emcee. Watch it and get excited for the show on Feb. 26!

The Oscars Has Found Its Host: Billy Crystal

That was fast! Following yesterday's announcement that Eddie Murphy was stepping down as Oscar host in the wake of producer Brett Ratner's resignation, the Oscars have found their new emcee. The Academy has confirmed that Billy Crystal is hosting the Oscars after Crystal tweeted, "Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show."

The Academy had just hired a new producer, Brian Grazer, and though it will be Grazer's first time working on the broadcast, Crystal is old hat. This will be his ninth time as host, and I'm personally excited - he's my favorite Oscar emcee (I'm already pumped about the 2011 movie medley). Are you glad that Crystal is hosting?

Billy Crystal took it upon himself to reimagine a follow-up to the story, this time with Harry finding romance again in a nursing home after Sally's death. It seems like love at first sight for Harry and Sharon (Helen Mirren) . . . until Harry realizes that Sharon has a dark secret, and he's bit off more than he can chew (pun intended).

TV Tonight: PBS Will Make 'Em Laugh

Tonight PBS will begin airing the first episode of a six-part documentary called Make 'Em Laugh: The Funny Business of America, which explores all things comedic in America. The show features Amy Sedaris as narrator, and is hosted by comedy veteran Billy Crystal.

Comedian interviews to look out for in the series include Judd Apatow, Roseanne Barr, Carol Burnett, Sid Caesar, George Carlin, Larry David, Will Ferrell, Steve Martin, and Chris Rock. Pretty awesome lineup, right?

Tonight's episode is titled "Would Ya Hit a Guy with Glasses?: Nerds, Jerks, & Oddballs" and takes a look at how American outsiders have spun their exclusion from mainstream society into comedic gold. So, it's the Judd Apatow episode. You can check out the entire schedule here.

Birthday Wishes For Pretty Woman Julia and Retiring Joaquin

After posing for photos on the red carpet, Julia Roberts, Casey Affleck, Bruce Willis, and Tom Hanks were just a handful of the A-listers who performed last night in honor of Paul Newman. Joined on stage by the children from the Painted Turtle Camp, the actors got into costume and character as Jack Nicholson narrated The World of Nick Adams. While remembering Paul was a key element of the night, there were also plenty of jokes. Julia Roberts even touched on her role in Pretty Woman and when asked about a sequel, she said, "No one wants to see an old hooker! Do they?" While Julia was busy rejecting sequel ideas, Joaquin Phoenix declared that he's quitting acting entirely to focus on his music career. Both Julia and Joaquin are celebrating birthdays today, but it seems as if helping others is top of mind these days.

Jack and Morgan Carry Their Bucket List to LA

Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman came out in LA last night to premiere their new sweetheart buddy film The Bucket List. In the movie, they play men from very different walks of life who are both terminally ill and embark on a series of adventures they've always wanted to do before they "kick the bucket." The boys were joined by friends Billy Crystal, John Mayer (who isn't one to miss a red carpet these days) and their pint-sized costar Taylor Ann Thompson. Oh, and in case anyone is still curious, this movie is the reason why Jack showed off that completely shaved head at last year's Oscars. The Bucket List comes out Christmas day and looks like it might be a perfectly (and possibly overly) saccharine holiday treat.
