Blake Lively Gets Glam For a New Shoot and Talks About the End of Gossip Girl

Blake Lively is on the cover of Bullett magazine's new issue, and inside the edition, she spoke about her past and future career. She's looking forward to the Summer release of her Oliver Stone movie Savages, as well as the end of her long run on the CW series Gossip Girl. Since wrapping the last season of the show, Blake and boyfriend Ryan Reynolds have been spending a great deal of time together. She didn't discuss him in the interview, but did touch on why she acts only to please herself. Here are highlights from Blake Lively in Bullett:

On the way she builds relationships: "The way that I meet people is the same way that I've always met people. It might be weird if I was on JDate, but I'm not, so that's good. I meet so many people in passing at parties, but I've never been a person who's like, I know I just met you, but let's exchange numbers and be best friends."
On being ready to move on from Gossip Girl: "It'll be bittersweet when it's over because it gave me all of this. I think the best way to describe it is like someone who really enjoyed high school, and is like, I'm a senior and I can't wait for the next thing! Gossip Girl was so great, but what's the next challenge in life? Because, you know, six years is a long time. And as an actor who plays a caricature of myself on the show, I don't think I'd say, 'Watch Gossip Girl for my best quality of work. But I am very lucky to have had that experience."
On only really working to please herself: "I'm not in the business of trying to win the approval of my cast members, my director, or my audience. If I were, I'd be so beaten down by insecurity that I'd never be able to perform. The only person I'm trying to prove something to is myself."

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Get Cute in Canada During a Visit With His Family

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds grabbed snacks before taking a ferry ride yesterday in Nanaimo, British Columbia. The couple has been spending some time in Ryan's native Canada lately, and earlier this week, they shared a big dinner out with Ryan's loved ones in Vancouver. Yesterday, they kept things family focused as they took the boat to pay a visit to Ryan's policeman brother. Blake and Ryan are rumored to have recently bought a place together in New York, where they've spent the majority of their time since they started dating, but are enjoying a visit up north while they're both on a hiatus from shooting. Ryan most recently completed the action movie R.I.P.D., and Blake has two films hitting theaters while she's on Summer break from Gossip Girl. She costars with Chloe Moretz and Eddie Redmayne in this month's Hick and also has a role in Oliver Stone's The Savages, which is due out in July.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Are Loved Up in Vancouver

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds held hands Saturday while out for a walk in Vancouver. They also stopped in to get lunch at the city's Sophie's Cosmic Cafe. Ryan and Blake are together in his hometown north of the border for a little getaway during a break from work. Blake's just wrapped up a season of Gossip Girl, and will soon hit the road to promote her big Summer movie, Oliver Stone's Savages. The picture is out on July 6 - check out Blake and the other famous actresses of Summer movie season. She has another picture out this Friday. Her Hick, which also stars Chloe Moretz, is out May 11.

Ryan and Blake love a romantic weekend away, but are nonetheless looking to put down roots closer to NYC. Reports have suggested that the couple are looking for a home outside the city, and they've been spotted touring properties in both Connecticut and Westchester County, NY. They may have actually made a big purchase, as Ryan and Blake were rumored to have dropped $2 million on a home in Bedford, NY.

Hick Trailer: Chloe Moretz Has a Chip on Her Shoulder and a Gun in Her Hand

Chloe Moretz is quite the spitfire in the new red-band trailer for Hick. Abandoned by her father (probably for the better), Moretz's character, Luli McMullen, spends a few minutes contemplating her next move before hitting the road. Destination: Las Vegas. What a great place for a newly orphaned teenage girl! With nothing but a backpack and a loaded pistol in her possession, Luli starts hitchhiking her way there. Along the way, she befriends a kindly drug addict, played by Blake Lively, and the two embark on what looks like a crazy dangerous adventure.

The poster for Hick came out a few weeks ago, but it's nice to finally see Moretz and Lively in action. We've been a fan of Moretz's since we first took note of her ass-kicking skills a couple years ago in Kick-Ass, and this role recalls the unexpected fierceness she displayed as Hit-Girl, only with a dash of Clint Eastwood this time. The movie comes out in theaters and VOD May 11, but let us know what you think when you watch the trailer after the jump.
