The Words Trailer: Bradley Cooper Has Got a Story For You

Get ready to bend your brain as you watch the trailer for The Words, starring Bradley Cooper as a writer. His character, Rory Jansen, suffers from writer's block until he has a breakthrough and finally produces a best-selling novel. The only problem is that he stole the story from former soldier (played by Jeremy Irons), who put his life story to words years before Rory finds his writings. As you watch the preview that doesn't really come across, because the trailer starts out telling Rory's story, paralleling it with Irons's character in flashback (played by Ben Barnes). And then, randomly, Dennis Quaid and Olivia Wilde show up, because apparently Quaid's character wrote Rory's plagiarism tale. Got it?

None of that is really clear as you watch, nor does it make sense as to why a cheesy, romantic-comedy-esque song comes on in the final moments. Let's hope the movie itself is far more coherent than this first look, because I know I won't be missing a chance to see Cooper and his baby blues as a struggling artist. The film comes out Sept. 21, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.

The upcoming flick Hit & Run not only stars real-life couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, but apparently it was inspired by their relationship. Let's hope they're talking about their dynamic chemistry and not the fact that Shepard plays a bank robber in the movie. The trailer for the comedy starts with the happy couple enjoying their morning together, then quickly gets serious(ish) when a dread-locked thug played by Bradley Cooper shows up at the door with some gangsters and a golf club. Turns out Charlie (Shepard) hasn't been completely candid with his sweetheart about his past as a thief, or the fact that he's in the Witness Protection Program.

I'm fairly intrigued by this trailer, mostly because Shepard and Bell are so cute in real life and it seems to translate well to the big screen. It's also refreshing to see Cooper doing comedy without being his typical Hangover-style douchey characters. The movie comes out on August 24, but check out the trailer when you

Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper Make a Smiley Sundance Appearance Together

New couple Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana were spotted leaving a Sundance Film Festival event yesterday with bright smiles on their faces. Bradley and Zoe exited the venue separately, but both hopped into the same car and drove off to their next destination. The couple are in Sundance previewing their upcoming release, The Words that also costars Dennis Quaid and Olivia Wilde. Olivia missed out on the cast reunion, and instead opted to hang in sunny California with boyfriend Jason Sudeikis.

We first saw Zoe and Bradley kissing on location in Vancouver last Summer and since then they've all experienced some major events in their personal lives. For the ladies, Zoe called off her engagement to Keith Britton while Olivia's divorce from Tao Ruspoli became finalized. Bradley's hotness was recognized when he won 2011's Sexiest Man Alive. Now 2012 is already looking to be another successful year for Bradley and Zoe. She's about to begin filming the highly anticipated sequel to J.J. Abrams's Star Trek and he's set to star as Lucifer in Paradise Lost.

Kate and Matt Have a Cinematic Double Date With Bradley and Zoe

Kate Hudson and Bradley Cooper participated in a live reading of her mom Goldie Hawn's movie Shampoo last night at the LACMA in Hollywood. Goldie had the role of Jill in the 1975 picture, and that's exactly the part Kate read yesterday! Another fun connection for Kate was that it took place inside LACMA's Bing Theater, which is the nickname of her 6-month-old son.

It was part of a series of productions put on by director Jason Reitman and film critic Elvis Mitchell, including Natalie Portman's version of The Apartment staged back in November. After things wrapped up at the museum, Kate and Bradley went to dinner with their significant others. Bradley Cooper's girlfriend, Zoe Saldana, went along with Kate and her fiancé, Matt Bellamy, for a meal with Bradley's mom, Gloria.

Michelle and Busy Join Bradley at a Weinstein Co. Pre-Globes Bash

Michelle Williams helped the Weinstein Company get a head start on the Golden Globes celebration last night. Harvey Weinstein's enterprise hosted a bash at the Chateau Marmont that brought out the My Week With Marilyn star and her best friend, Busy Philipps. Busy was still in the bright blue Carven dress she wore to the 2012 People's Choice Awards, where she told us about her plans to be Michelle's date to the Golden Globes on Sunday! The girls went together last year as well, when Michelle was nominated, but lost, for Blue Valentine. Busy joked that if Michelle doesn't win this year, perhaps she should consider another date for future award shows!

A mustache-sporting Bradley Cooper also made the rounds at Harvey's party after stopping by Liam Neeson's premiere of The Grey. He said hello to friends at the Chateau like Paula Patton, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Morrison, Lindsay Lohan, and Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern. We may see many of the same faces this evening on the red carpet at the Critics' Choice Awards - stay tuned later for our live coverage, which starts at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET!
