Britney Spears Rolls Into Austin For Her First Day of X Factor Auditions

Austin rolled out a Texas-sized welcome for X Factor judges Britney Spears, Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and L.A. Reid today. The foursome were all smiles upon their arrival and looked ready to get down to business on their first day of taping. The group of judges is back together after meeting up last week for the official unveiling of the new X Factor judging panel.

When the cameras weren't rolling, Britney had fiancé Jason Trawick by her side, but in the studio she took her seat between Simon and Demi. It looks like Brit and Simon are getting off on a playful foot since she tweeted "Simon better watch out" and joked that they were "still waiting on Simon Cowell of course" when she arrived at the event. Taping continues in Texas tomorrow before production moves on to Kansas City, San Francisco, and Providence next month.

Britney changed into a short purple Alexander Wang frock after wearing a white minidress for the official announcement of her involvement earlier in the day. Britney, Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell, and L.A. Reid will be judges on the reality competition, though the new host has yet to be confirmed. Britney's fiancé Jason Trawick joined her for the big NYC day, which they wrapped up with dinner at ABC Kitchen later in the evening. While Britney has her new role to look forward to, she also still has a wedding to plan since she and Jason became engaged late last year.

It's official: Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are your new X Factor judges. The ladies stepped out in NYC today at Fox's upfront presentation for the official announcement that Britney and Demi are joining the show. Rumors started swirling months ago about Britney's involvement and a reported $15 million contract, but no confirmations were made until today. Returning judge Simon Cowell took the stage together before bringing out the rest of his team, saying, "I'm thrilled to be able to confirm the return of L.A. Reid, the addition of Demi Lovato and the superstar Britney Spears."

Britney made a brief cameo in a sexy white minidress and posed for photos with Demi and the guys. Before leaving the stage, Britney chimed in about her judging role: "I am so excited about this . . . I'm ready to find the true star." The second season of X Factor returns this Fall, but will you tune in to see Britney and Demi?

Do You Think Britney Spears Will Make a Good X Factor Host?

It's official: Britney Spears has signed a deal with Fox to be a judge on the upcoming season of The X Factor. Spears will be joining existing coaches Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid for the show, which is set to air in the Fall.

It seems music competitions have been pulling bigger and bigger names to their shows as of late, with Christina Aguilera currently set to return for a third season of The Voice and Jennifer Lopez on the panel at American Idol. After so many swirling rumors, I'm excited to hear that this is really happening, and given that the show wasn't doing superswell ratings-wise last season, I think Britney is a great draw. However, The X Factor is unique in that it requires the coaches to really mentor their pupils, which is not the type of commitment we've seen her take on in the past. What do you think, will Britney make a good coach?

Britney Spears has signed on to The X Factor! According to E! News, the pop star is the newest addition to the US show following the dismissal of Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Britney's peers Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez have been successful on The Voice and American Idol, respectively, and now it's her time to shine in front of a live TV audience.

Congrats to Britney, we're looking forward to seeing her twice a week in prime time!
