Bryce Dallas Howard joined her father, director Ron Howard, and her 50/50 costar Joseph Gordon-Levitt at NYC's Museum of Natural History last night for a screening of her directorial project When You Find Me. Bryce created the 15-minute short, and Ron served as producer on the film as part of Canon's Project Imagin8ion series. She's quickly approaching the final weeks of her second pregnancy, and looked lovely in a floor-length Max Azria gown for the event.

JGL came out to support his friends, and posed for photos with Bryce after his arrival. Later in the evening, he ditched his chic attire and changed into something more casual to venture down to the occupy Wall Street protests in Zuccotti Park. The Dark Knight Rises actor brought along his camera and began recording images of the scene when police confronted the protesters around 3 a.m. Joseph headed home early this morning and uploaded the footage to his website and encouraged fans submit their own occupy images.

George and Stacy Arrive Together For Michelle Williams's Big Hollywood Night

George Clooney had lady friend Stacy Keibler on his arm last night to attend the 15th annual Hollywood Film Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The couple are fresh off a stint in Europe, where Stacy joined George for the Paris premiere of The Ides of March and a London screening of The Descendants. She represented her favorite football team with her purple Maria Lucia Hohan gown. Stacy tweeted, "Wearing my Ravens purple to the Hollywood Film Awards. . . Will have to keep checking the score on my phone." This was another big evening for George, who accepted the Hollywood Actor Award from his Descendants costar Beau Bridges.

Many more of George's fellow actors were honored, including Michelle Williams, who looked gorgeous in a black strapless Nina Ricci number. Michelle Williams accepted the Hollywood Actress Award once the show began, and later met up with her best friend Busy Philipps. However, Michelle was solo on the red carpet, and we caught a minute with her. She flew to California from the Michigan set of Oz: The Great and Powerful, and her daughter Matilda has been there to see the filming. Michelle said of the kid-friendly picture, "This one's for Matilda." Michelle shared room on the press line with other lovely ladies like a Pucci-clad Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Emma Stone in Jonathan Saunders, and Carey Mulligan in Bottega Veneta. George Clooney, who had just been crowned Hollywood Actor of the Year, shared a look of love with his lady friend Stacy Keibler, who donned a sheer and strapless Maria Lucia Hohan gown. Michelle Williams, in Nina Ricci, looked happy after accepting her Hollywood Actress statue and made the rounds with her best friend Busy Philipps. A pregnant Bryce Dallas Howard celebrated the success of The Help in a red Dolce & Gabbana dress while other stars like Carey Mulligan, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and a Naeem Khan-clad Julianne Hough mingled as well. The Hollywood Film Awards took place last night at LA's Beverly Hilton Hotel, and once the famous guests like George Clooney and Stacy Keibler left the red carpet, the show began inside the ballroom. George was onstage to accept his Hollywood Actor Award from his Descendants costar, Beau Bridges, and humbly told the audience of his award, "I am very lucky. I'm a lucky man." My Week With Marilyn star Michelle Williams, meanwhile, won the female counterpart with the Hollywood Actress Award. Ben Affleck, sporting his long Argo locks, made a special appearance to honor Hollywood Cinematographer Award recipient Emmanuel Lubezki. The men worked together on Terrence Malick's still-untitled upcoming picture.

The many ladies of The Help, including Emma Stone, Allison Janney, Viola Davis, Cicely Tyson, Ahna O'Reilly, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Mary Steenburgen were together to accept the Hollywood Ensemble Award and to pose with their new statues backstage. Further nods went to Diablo Cody with the Hollywood Screenwriter Award, Moneyball's Bennett Miller with the Hollywood Director Award, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt with the Hollywood Breakthrough Actor Award. Joseph was handed his prize by his Dark Knight Rises costar Anne Hathaway, who was decked out in a floral Erdem dress.

The ensemble cast of 50/50 had a busy Monday at the Toronto Film Festival. Bryce Dallas Howard, Anna Kendrick, Seth Rogen, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt joined forces for an afternoon press conference followed by their red carpet premiere and afterparty, where they posed with director Jonathan Levine and screenwriter Will Reiser. Bryce, who also made her debut as a producer with Restless at TIFF last week, chose shades of blue for yesterday's photo opportunities. Over the weekend, Bryce also celebrated at a Kate Spade party, thrown in her honor, where she reunited with her cast mate from The Help, Jessica Chastain. Anna is coming from work on the set of End of Watch in California, and she was recently spotted cozying up to costar Jake Gyllenhaal, though she was on her own in Toronto. Bryce Dallas Howard hosted a cocktail party for kate spade New York in Toronto last night. Bryce is the face of their handbag collection and was decked out in a custom-made chambray shirtdress and bright pink necklace from kate spade, which matched the walls at The Harbourd Room. Bryce's costar from The Help Jessica Chastain swung through the soiree to say hello and catch up for a moment before heading off to her next TIFF bash. The redheads, whose movie The Help has had huge box office success, posed for photos and shared a few laughs as Bryce sipped on a mocktail. Bryce was also joined by her good friend Jason Lew, who wrote Restless, the film that BDH produced which helped kick off the festival with a big red carpet premiere on Thursday. Bryce is expecting her second child with husband Seth Gabel, though he couldn't come along to the festival since he's currently on the other side of Canada working on Fringe in Vancouver. The Help: Assisted by Affecting Performances

There are a lot of things that could have gone wrong with a movie like The Help. It could have gone overboard with the message of sisterhood and empowerment (like I feared when I first watched the trailer). It also could have put too much emphasis on the '60s setting while ignoring the darker themes of Kathryn Stockett's best-selling novel, but thanks to a script that stays loyal to the source material and moving performances, The Help is an insightful and inspiring look at society in 1960s Mississippi.

The film tackles two very different aspects of the community of Jackson: the lives of wealthy young Southern women, and that of their devoted maids. Hilly Holbrook (Bryce Dallas Howard) represents the worst kind of Southern belle: snotty, entitled, and prejudiced, she believes that the African-American women who have raised her and helped run her households should be thankful and kept at bay - and in their own bathrooms, where white people won't be in danger of catching their "diseases." Her best friend Skeeter (Emma Stone) doesn't agree with Hilly's crusade against the help, especially since she holds her own former maid near and dear to her heart.

When Skeeter defies a life of bridge playing and gossiping in favor of pursuing a career in journalism, the rift between her and Hilly begins to tear. As Hilly continues to push forward her "bill" to force all maids to have separate bathrooms, Skeeter is inspired to write her first book from the perspective of the very maids that Hilly turns her nose up at. Skeeter enlists the help of Aibileen (Viola Davis), a kind and gentlewoman who works for a friend, and Minny (Octavia Spencer), a sassy, no-nonsense maid whom Hilly fires in the first act.

What really makes The Help a compelling film are the top-notch performances from its cast. Emma Stone proves that she can handle a drama, but she's far outshined by the league of women supporting her. Davis and Spencer are perfect as Aibileen and Minny; Davis gives the kind of performance that breaks your heart and inspires you at the same time, while Spencer complements Minny's essential sass with just enough vulnerability to make her funny and authentic.

The woman who play Skeeter's peers are also excellent here. Howard delivers a deliciously sinister performance that makes Hilly's downfall all the more entertaining. Jessica Chastain (who is having a breakout Summer thanks to this film and The Tree of Life) also delivers as Celia Foote, a woman who's desperate to be part of the Jackson community but has been unfairly exiled by Hilly. In the wrong hands, these women could have been depicted as simple stereotypes, but each actress brings the depth and layers necessary to make the film feel realistic.

Director Tate Taylor takes plenty of time to let his story unfold, as each woman's life is examined separately and as a whole, and the film is well-served by its run time (though it does drag a bit in the end). It's easy to connect to these women - even Hilly - which is why the film is an effective new look at issues we're accustomed with. The Help is not just a portrayal of racism and segregation so much as a tale about the relationships between women who were all living together in Jackson in the 1960s. Not all of them were cordial, but not all of them were abusive either; one of the most crucial elements is that friendships did exist between the help and their employers. Ultimately, The Help is like a little bit of a food for your soul - though it may not go down easy, it's rich and fulfilling.
