Dec 4 2006 - 2:43pm Kate Moss hosted a charity auction event to benefit the Sam & Ruby Charity on Friday night in New York. Her wardrobe choice included a fur jacket which has further infuriated anti-fur organizations who are already upset with Kate for continuing to be the face of Burberry, which has refused to abandon fur in its collections.

The World Society for the Protection of Animals has written her a letter, pleading with her to boycott fur.

11why is fur worse than leather? why don't people attack meat-eaters? i don't get this huge moral thing against wearing fur when animals are used and killed for loads of other everyday things.
I'm totally for it or anything, i reckon everyone should be allowed to wear fur, but if they do they should at least be made to kill and skin the animal themselves...
12i used to have this thing against wearing leather. But i eat meat. and that serves the purpose of feeding me(and being yummy) so why can't someone wear a leather coat and be warm(and look good) i mean its really one of those things were you dont' need to go out and kill 15 bambi's to be set for the winter(im from a place where people actually go hunting) so dont' own 15 animal skin coats, and don't wear-or eat for that matter- endangered animals...

14Why do people care more about animals than other people? I know everyone has passions for different things,...that's fine,...different strokes and all that, but there are human beings in this world that are treated just as badly as those abused animals. Let's worry about them and leave people who want to wear fur to wear it. Personally, I think fur is gross, but I would rather a person wear fur and treat humans nicely than not and...not.

16To begin with, PETA needs to shut it. Their "shelters" are NOT no kill shelters and their tactics are environmental terrorism at best. I choose not to wear fur other than faux shearling and the like (because it's warm). One night, I was wearing my faux leather coat with the faux shearling lining (I'm so faux) to an indie music awards show and someone claiming to be from PETA tossed paint on my fauxness. Man, I chased that wench halfway down east 11th before I grabbed her little container of paint and tossed it into the trash.
17lol, i had a similar experience in a bar. these 2 girls and a guy were moving closer and closer to me and a couple of friends and finally one of the girls says to me "fur is dead" which the people i was with thought hysterically funny (a few under their belts) but i could see where it was going. so i said "it's made from road kill; polyester road kill". and the b*tch grabbed my drink and threw it in my face! they were escorted out and we left right after that.

She looks like a yak. That coat is totally gross. Poor animals. I definitely love animals more than people. They are not self-destructive and don't act like the only species on earth. A vagrant on the street corner chose that lifestyle, but the stray kitty did not.

26Veronica, some people care more about animals than their human counterparts because animals are truly defenseless against the human race. Animals need someone to fight for them because they can't fight for themselves.
Zanzara, I completely agree! My favorite is when the idiots tell me "Well, I eat chicken but I think it's wrong to eat pigs. They're so cute, I just can't." It's basically the same as the whole fur/leather thing. Both are insanely hypocritical.
27i love animals but i dont condemn people for wearing or eating meat, but her jacket fur or not is just gross! it looks like a big wig!
28I don't believe that fur wearing is wrong in itself, its the horrific manner in which these animals are killed
