Beyonce and Jay-Z Roll Cadillac Records into NYC

The cast of Cadillac Records brought their movie to New York City last night, highlighted by Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z. The newlyweds and longtime loves hardly ever do the red carpet together, so it's such a treat to see him out to support his wife looking so happy. They're always having a blast somewhere around the world, but with her opening up a little about their marriage and seeing them together here might mean a new leaf for B and J. They weren't the only ones at the premiere, Adrien Brody had Elsa Pataky on his arm as always while Gabrielle Union and Emmanuelle Chriqui looked gorgeous solo. The movie hits theaters this Friday and between the cast there's more than enough beauty to go around, though Beyonce swears we won't be able to recognize any Sasha Fierce in her Etta James.

Beyonce and Adrien Drive Their Cadillac Records Into LA

Hollywood got a little more old school last night for the premiere of Cadillac Records. Beyonce Knowles looked glamorous solo showing off her enormous diamond ring on the red carpet and posing with the legendary Etta James who B portrays in the film. As one half of the number one top earning celebrity couples, Beyonce didn't need her other half by her side to command attention. Adrien Brody cozied up with his girlfriend Elsa Pataky sticking with the all black dress code right down to Adrien's hair. Gabrielle Union also stars in the film, which hits theaters December 5.

Beyonce Poses For House of Dereon and Cadillac Records

Beyonce Knowles and her mom Tina came out in NYC last night to debut the new line for the House of Dereon collection, this time inspired by Beyonce's Cadillac Records. As usual, Beyonce was her mother's biggest supporter while also promoting her film, which hits theaters Dec. 5. Beyonce and Sasha Fierce will be all over in the coming weeks before the album drops, but don't expect her to be covering up those visible roots since they're so popular right now.

Beyonce Opens Up About Jay-Z and Babies

Beyonce Knowles showed off some huge bracelets on the cover of Elle and looked fierce with her heavy eye makeup inside the issue. She's been busy promoting her double album and walking red carpets for Cadillac Records with Jay-Z by her side. In the article Beyonce's shares her sweet side, including that she donated her Cadillac Records salary to the Phoenix House in NYC. Here are some highlights from the interview where Beyonce talks about her husband, kids, and playing Etta James:

On her relationship with Jay-Z: "It’s a power struggle. But if I didn’t respect someone and they didn’t have that strength, then I would be bored. I wouldn’t be attracted to them."
On her life: "There are a lot of things I never did, because I believe in watching those true Hollywood stories and I see how easy it is to lose track of your life. Think about Marilyn Monroe."
On having a baby: "No way! I’m terrified of delivering a child because I saw my nephew being born. That traumatized me. I’m only 27. I’ve got time."
On being affected by playing Etta James: "My mom had to leave the set. I don’t normally curse. Maybe twice a year. I have to be really livid. Somebody saying things or scheduling something where I’m not in control. It was freeing, but it was also the most emotionally draining time of my life. Every day I would come home; my eyes would be completely swollen."
Tina on Sasha Fierce: “Her cousin Angie gave her that name. We’d tease Beyoncé about having a split personality. Me and Angie and Ty, her stylist, would work with her doing a quick change when she’d come off the stage between sets. Beyoncé would start screaming, ‘What’s wrong with you? Where’s my shoe?’ ‘Uh oh,’ we’d say, ‘Sasha is here.’ I’m like, This is some crazy person who’s doing this quick change. She’s another person up there. We don’t take it personally. Sasha is her bragging side…I don’t know whether to say it, but her hip-hop side.”

Etta James Lashes Out at Beyonce For Singing "At Last" at Inauguration - Whose Side Are You On?

Beyonce Knowles had the world watching on inauguration night when she performed "At Last" for Barack and Michelle Obama's first dance as president and first lady. Over the past year, Beyonce has sung the famous tune many times - including in front of Etta James - before playing the legend in Cadillac Records. This week at a concert in Seattle, Etta James went off on Beyonce and denounced President Obama for inviting her to sing. James said:

"You guys know your president, right? You know the one with the big ears? Wait a minute, he ain't my president, he might be yours, he ain't my president. You know that woman he had singing for him, singing my song - she's going to get her ass whipped. The Great Beyonce. I can't stand Beyonce. She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol' president day, singing my song that I've been singing forever."

Catching Up With Emmanuelle Chriqui

Last year we had the opportunity to interview the fabulous Emmanuelle Chriqui, and we were lucky enough to chat with the actress again this week. She's been super busy promoting You Don't Mess With The Zohan all over LA, including a stop by Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday night. We got the scoop on everything from working with big names in Hollywood, to returning to Entourage, to being a big environmentalist. She was also nice enough to share a few of her fashion and beauty secrets, so be sure to head over to Fab and Bella to check it out. Here's a preview of what she had to say:

On working with Adam Sandler: "Oh my God, he is so incredible. I can’t say enough good things about Adam, he constantly impresses me. He is the most grounded, real person ever. It’s the weirdest thing, and to kind of be as iconic as he is, he never loses what his priorities are - like his family and friends, being a good person and it’s amazing to see that in Hollywood. You kind of wish everybody was like that. "
On being green: "I am a huge environmentalist, and I drive a Prius. I’m a part of the Environmental Media Association, and I think it is the coolest thing in the world to be green. I really do, I think it is especially important for young people to just sort of jump on that bandwagon because this is our world, we have the chance to save it or kill it. I just think it is majorly important. It is something I am passionate about - it's not uncool to be green. It is the opposite!"

PopSugar: Adam Sandler's not the only big name you are working with these days. Tell us about Cadillac Records?
Emmanuelle: I am so excited about that movie. Just because it was a script that I read that I totally fell in love with. It’s just an amazing story about musical history that shaped everything - music as we know it today. And of course working with Adrien Brody and Jeffrey Wright was ridiculous, I would have paid to do that movie!

PS: How about Patriotville?
Emmanuelle: We did a re-shoot on Patriotville, I’m actually really grateful for it because we got to fine tune a lot of things. I haven’t seen the new version yet, but apparently they are pretty happy so hopefully that will be something that will be coming out in the future.

PS: Do you like doing the more comedic role or like the dramatic stuff better?
Emmanuelle: You know, I love them both, they are such different experiences, but ultimately both totally exhilarating. I think what it is is when you work with someone who is at the top of their game, whatever their game is, it is just an amazing experience -like working with Sandler and Rob Schneider and John Turturro who are seasoned comedians, it is so amazing as an actor when you feel like you have to step up your game, like you are being challenged just by the company your holding. It’s just awesome.

PS: Do you miss the TV work or do you really like the movies right now?
Emmanuelle: I love the movie stuff, my dream was also to be doing film, but having said that, Entourage was not only the thing that totally changed the direction in my career, but you know I miss the show. I miss the guys. I’m going to be going back for one episode this season. It remains sort of open between E and Sloan - who knows what is going to happen. But like I just think cable shows, generally speaking, are not like regular television, and working with HBO and Entourage - a critically acclaimed show - you know, that show always felt like making a movie. We were always on location. And even in the way that they had premieres for the show, it always felt like it was more of a movie than a TV show.

PS: Do you keep in touch with the boys at all?
Emmanuelle: Yeah, well, in particular Kevin Connelly who is truly one of my best friends. We talk all the time. They are like my brothers. You know, the other day, it was really funny - I had a meeting in Beverly Hills and as I was leaving I saw this film crew and I was like, "Oh I wonder if that is Entourage?" And then I saw our prop master and it was! And then I see Kevin standing at the curb and was like, “Kevin! Hey!” So I walk over and it was like the sweetest thing, like one by one all the boys came over and said hello. It was just like a family, truly like a family. And you know, even though I am not a regular on the show, I never feel like, “Oh what is she doing here?” It's always like, "Oh yay!" It’s just a really nice thing.

PS: They seem like really nice guys, but you know, it's nice to hear that they actually are.
Emmanuelle: Yeah, they are, they are really amazing.

Beyonce Is Ready to Take the World by Storm, Again

Beyonce Knowles poured herself into a daring Herve Leger dress - and pulled it off - at the opening of Ginza Gates Store in Tokyo, Japan on Friday with her sister Solange. Beyonce graces the cover of the next Billboard magazine in which she lays out her extensive strategy for her upcoming album and tour which is modeled after international blockbuster releases of other kinds such as the Harry Potter franchise. The most surprising, she thinks, will be her fans seeing her depicting Etta James's heroin addiction in Cadillac Records. She said:

“They’re like, ‘I’m not sure if people need to see you with a needle in your arm around the time of your record’s release. But, I’m obviously playing a character and I felt that story needed to be told. It gave me an opportunity to challenge myself and show, even myself, what I can do as an actor. I’ve never been so proud of something I’ve done.”

Sounds like there's a lot of Beyonce coming our way over the next few months and although there are no collaborations with Jay-Z, or anyone, this time around, he'll still be in the background cheering her on with the rest of her family.
