Stars Come Together to Earn Money and Give Away Kisses For a Good Cause in San Francisco

Charlize Theron looked beautiful on the red carpet last night at ONEXONE's annual fundraiser in San Francisco. The man of the night Matt Damon sadly had to miss it, as he headed back to Boston for a family emergency, but many other stars were happy to lend a hand to the good cause. We chatted with David Arquette about Coco, after he spent the day at the food bank for Feeding America, and Jeremy Piven who had nothing but great things to say about Matt. Inside the event, Charlize even sold a kiss for $140,000! Here's more:

Charlize Theron on bringing Matt Damon's organization and her charity together for the gala: "We reached out to ONEXONE seeing if they wanted to help us out. We have massive issues with fresh water sources in the area we work with in our schools. The next step for us was to build soccer fields. We have the World Cup next year so it just felt right, but there was something wrong about building soccer fields and knowing that a lot of these kids don't have access to running water. Somebody told me about what Matt does, his work with ONEXONE and I was blown away. So I reached out and he was like we would love to be involved."
Jeremy Piven on Matt's appearance on Entourage: "It was amazing. Matt really gets it. He made it so funny. He played just this really weird, twisted, evil version of himself. His heart was in the right place, but his methods of going about things were really really wrong. And in that way I think he's a comedic genius."

Josh Groban on his guest spot on Glee: "They asked me to make a cameo and I was like sure, but can you make me creepy or something. I'm tired of playing the vanilla guy. Make me a jerk or something, like Matt on Entourage. Give me something I can really sink my teeth into. It was really amazing. To see so many great theater actors on a hit TV show was really cool for me since my background is in theater. It's amazing to see people like Kristin Chenowith and Matthew Morrison on the show. Such a great group of talented people."
Jeremy Piven on being picking up the slack while Matt is away for the night: "I'm absolutely ready! Whatever it takes. That's what's fun about us all being in this together for ONEXONE. We have each others backs which is really, really great. When Matt appeared on Entourage it was basically a 40-minute infomercial for ONEXONE, and I was honored to even be a small part of this event tonight."

Matt Damon Gets ONEXONE in SF Before Moving to NYC

Last night Matt Damon brought Luciana up north to San Francisco to raise funds and awareness for the ONEXONE organization. Wyclef Jean continued to be his partner and this time the duo was joined by David Arquette. Before the gala the threesome passed out grapes at a SF food bank. Matt spoke passionately at the event as well as spent a graciously long time on the red carpet. He talked about his commitment to helping the Obama campaign in its final weeks even though Damon is headed to Morocco to shoot. He said, "I'm sure I'll be on the phone over there after filming every night. I'll do telephone interviews or whatever they'll have me do. I want to sprint to the finish with the millions of us who really have been desperate for this change." Matt also revealed that he and Luciana are moving their family from Miami to NYC soon. Last night's event has been on the calendar for a while so it's a good thing his beloved Red Sox didn't make it to the World Series or he might have had to reschedule.

Hollywood writers are planning to go on strike as early as Monday after contract negotiations with the The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers expired Wednesday night. American Idol Season Eight Goes Out With a Bang

Last night American Idol finalists Kris Allen and Adam Lambert took the stage for the last time, joined by former contestants and big stars alike. Nicole Richie enjoyed her dad's duet with Danny Gokey with Joel and her little sister Sophia, while Victoria and Romeo Beckham took seats in the audience as well. As promised, the night was full of fun surprises from Kara's surprise sing along (and smokin' hot bikini body - who knew?) to an awesome rendition of "We Are the Champions" featuring Queen.

Other favorites were Fergie getting down with the Black Eyed Peas and Allison singing "Time After Time" with Cyndi Lauper - what was your favorite moment? Of course, the biggest surprise of the night may have been Kris's big win, and no one looked more shocked than the new idol himself. Whether or not you agree with the results, both Adam and Kris proved their star power all season and we're sure that we'll be seeing and hearing a whole lot more from these talented boys in the years to come. Fashion Rocked Hard Backstage, Too

It looks like backstage was the place where Fashion Rocks' hot performers met up with their spouses like Jennifer with Marc, Usher with Tameka, Mary with Kendu. Pregnant and gorgeous Nicole stayed off her feet while the rest of the lucky backstage pass holders mingled and mixed. That would definitely be a fun group to spend an evening with - though I think I would like to be a fly on the wall of the Tyra/Carrie Underwood conversation most of all (or really anything with Ty-Ty's crazy). Who is Platinum Weird? Find Out Tonight!

Clever marketing is fabulous and we are all about a great ad campaign. In case you have not noticed the fabulous VH1 ad running on the site, watch the youtube movie below. I guarantee you will be wondering WTF Platinum Weird is.

With VH1's premiere of "Rock Legends: Platinum Weird" today at 6 p.m., Dave Stewart (formerly of Eurythmics) and Interscope Geffen A&M Records are gambling that viewers - and potential record buyers - won't feel misled by this mockumentary that holds itself out as a rockumentary.

Unlike the genre's standard-bearer, "This Is Spinal Tap," the film never lets viewers in on the secret. Instead, the authentically retro-looking "Behind the Music"-style special unleashes an elaborate "rock mythology" about how Stewart and a femme fatale named Erin Grace created a group whose counterculture niche would have an outsized influence on rock 'n' roll.

Truth is, the group's lead singer is songwriter-producer Kara DioGuardi - the pop rainmaker behind numerous hits for Top 40 stars such as Carlos Santana, Pink, Ashlee Simpson, Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani as well as several former "American Idol" contestants - who has recorded an album's worth of material as Erin Grace and gone so far as to do interviews as the character.
