NPH Hosts and Jokes His Way Through Mad Men, 30 Rock's Big Emmy Night!

Neil Patrick Harris was the star of the night at yesterday's Primetime Emmy Awards. He hosted the long show and managed to keep things interesting with his constant jokes and hours of preparation looking up the tiniest, most obscure roles on all the presenters' resumes to introduce them with. Check out all the winners here. Blake Lively and Leighton Meester looked gorgeous together as they took the stage to hand out an Emmy, though their show might not ever be up for any. Jessica Lange beat out her costar Drew Barrymore but the close friends looked overjoyed and the night's cutest acceptance speech might just go to a teary Kristin Chenoweth.

Justin Timberlake was all over the awards with his multiple nominations, though he didn't take any home he did win an Emmy last weekend. Heidi Klum and Seal shared a kiss in the audience, which is a lot less stressful than where she was last year up on stage as one of the hosts. Mad Men and 30 Rock took home the awards for best Drama and Comedy series respectively, but Jon Hamm and Tina Fey didn't win Actor or Actress. While the show was up against some tough competition with Sunday Night Football, NPH did a great job keeping the awards fun, funny and livelier than they've been in years.

The Red Carpet Gets a Dose of Bumps, Black and Purple

We already had one look at all the gorgeous ladies on the Emmys red carpet, but many of the other ensembles were also amazing. Heidi Klum kicked things off in a dress that perfectly showcased her growing baby bump, while Tina Fey picked out a number in similar black. Leighton Meester was quite a contrast in white, looking pretty with her red lips. Ginnifer Goodwin and Mila Kunis, meanwhile, added color to the carpet with their purplish frocks. 30 Rock, Mad Men, Grey Gardens, and More Rack Up Emmy Nominations!

Chandra Wilson and Jim Parsons were up early this morning in LA to announce the 2009 Primetime Emmy Nominations, and they happily received nominations of their own! 30 Rock scored the most with 22 nods, including Best Comedy Series, Best Actor, and Best Actress. Mad Men was also popular again this year with 16 noms in categories such as Best Drama Series, Best Actor, and Best Actress. Drew Barrymore's hard work for Grey Gardens paid off - both she and Jessica Lange are going up against each other for Best Lead Actress, and the HBO movie brought in 17 nominations.

American Idol and Project Runway got recognized for Best Reality-Competition Program with nods to their hosts, Ryan Seacrest and Heidi Klum. Extra nominees were added to many major categories this year, giving even more people a chance to celebrate. Even so, Grey's Anatomy only got Supporting Actress nods for Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson, while fan favorite True Blood was overlooked entirely. NPH Entertains an Exuberant Crowd at the Tonys

Neil Patrick Harris donned a shiny tux and a big smile, hosting the Tony Awards last night at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. Broadway veteran John Stamos and newcomer Anne Hathaway were among the stars who stepped out to present awards. Dolly Parton, Stockard Channing and Elton John took the stage, as well as Bret Michaels who injured himself during the big opening number. Liza Minnelli beat out Will Ferrell's George Bush impersonation for Best Special Theatrical Event - see all the winners here - but Will didn't seem to mind as he and the rest of the audience enjoyed a night filled with music and laughter.

Ellen Wins Daytime Emmy Awards, Rosie Gets Honorable Mentions

Friday night brought out TV's hottest daytime stars for the 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Chandra Wilson and Vivica A. Fox were all about color while Tyra was all about being noticed with the biggest gown ever. Ellen and Portia, our favorite female couple on the red carpet looked amazing and Ellen ruled the evening scoring trophies for Best Talk Show and Best Host. This was Ellen's 4th time in a row winning these awards, but she really thought Rosie should have walked away with the recognition. She said, "I liked what she did. This was the year she should have won. I wanted to acknowledge Rosie because she has done a lot. ... I don't know who should replace her but I don't think it should be Paris Hilton. That would not work." Good call Ellen!

Bob Barker picked up his 19th Emmy and spoke about Rosie as well at the awards. Backstage he said, "I believe they're going to have a meeting with Rosie. She knows the show, there's no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don't know. I've never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they've only auditioned men." The show won't be the same without Bob, but Rosie is ready for a new job and she would certainly bring a whole new edge to Price is Right! The Ladies Come Out for the Crystal/Lucy Awards

Movie and TV stars came together to celebrate one other for 2007 Crystal/Lucy Awards which honors women in film and television. At the show Renee Zellweger admitted to being a fan of Grey's Anatomy, calling the show "smart, well written with great acting." Sara Ramirez then complimented Renee saying she is "an amazing actress." Of course there was lots of buzz about Isaiah among the ladies of Seattle Grace; while Kate Walsh was shocked by his firing, she still proclaimed Isiah "an amazing actor" and said she wouldn't mind having him around on her new spinoff, Private Practice. However, Grey's creator Shonda Rimes kept her focus on the matter at hand and greeted her cast by affectionately referring to them as "her divas." It's always fun when the TV world and the movie world collide, especially when so many fabulous women are supporting one another.

Martin Scorsese Wins Top DGA Honor

Things are looking pretty good for Martin Scorsese at the Academy Awards this year. Despite directing classics like Taxi Driver and Goodfellas, Martin has yet to win an Oscar. Over the weekend, however, Martin was chosen as filmmaker of the year at the Directors Guild Awards for The Departed. The DGA's are a very good indicator of who will win the Oscar for best director and many believe that Scorsese is long overdue for his win. Martin was very modest during his acceptance speech, saying that he didn't even know the film was doing well until the studio called with the box office numbers. Its turned out to be his best commercial hit to date.

Other winners were Richard Shepard for the pilot of Ugly Betty and John Cassar for 24. Many celebs like Jennifer and America came out to support the men and women who make it all happen. Vanessa Gets Busy with Awards Season

Vanessa Williams sure had a busy week. She looked fabulous as a presenter at The People's Choice Awards, and we're also loving the green dress she chose for the 38th Annual NAACP Image Awards nomination press conference. Dreamgirls once again scored a ton of nominations leading with eight and Beyonce led the individual nominations with five.

Beyonce, Jennifer, Halle and More Shine at NAACP Awards

The 2009 NAACP Image Awards came to LA's Shrine Auditorium with cohosts Halle Berry and Tyler Perry leading the way. Everyone looked fantastic hitting the red carpet and mingling with old friends during the show - check out all of Fab's love it or hate it polls here. Dakota Fanning chose yet another strapless number but still looked perfectly pretty. Al Gore found his way into a conversation with Will Smith who had his wife for a date. Jennifer Hudson took home the Best New Artist award and said, "Now don't start me to crying again, y'all. It's always an honor to come home and feel welcome and to feel the love."

Rihanna was up for Female Performer of the year, but it was Beyonce who took the prize and also performed at the event. Diddy took home the award for TV Movie Actor while Will Smith and Rosario Dawson both won for Seven Pounds. Best picture went to The Secret Life of Bees - check out all the winners here. Seal performed with the choir, though it was Stevie Wonder who stole the show at his piano and Muhammad Ali who took the stage in a powerful moment.

The Ladies Pop and Shine on the Emmys Red Carpet

The ladies were bursting with color and sparkle at last night's Emmy Awards. Christina Applegate looked positively radiant and was the talk of the night - smiley, happy and healthy. Mary Louise Parker was the most eye catching of all in her bright blue number though you all were fairly divided on the look while Brooke Shields lived up to the name of her show in Lipstick pink. Heidi Klum went dramatic while Eva Longoria was all tied up in a bow with Tony on her arm. Debra Messing was one of Fab's best dressed but what do you think? Newcomer to the awards Mad Men's January Jones is a showstopper already and Buzz and I were lucky enough to catch up with the cast in the press room after the show's big win for Best Drama Series‚ check out all the winners here.
