Cheryl Burke Talks DWTS, Tans, and More

Anyone who watches Dancing With The Stars knows how easily Cheryl Burke moves around a ballroom. This season, she's done the salsa, Argentine tango, cha-cha-cha, and more with hunky Cuban actor William Levy. In between tapings, the dancer and Veet spokeswoman revealed what it takes to get ready before and after she hits the floor. "When I'm not performing, I keep it simple," she says of her beauty regimen. Here, she shares her beauty routine on- and off-camera.

BellaSugar: What's it like to get ready before Dancing With the Stars?
The ballroom look is pretty intense, but we have an unbelievable team. I usually spend about four hours in hair and makeup - covering everything from tanning to fake lashes to nails - before I even get started on wardrobe.

BS: Dancing With the Stars is known for featuring shimmering airbrush tans. Do you have any tips or tricks for looking fresh in-between applications, when they tend to get blotchy?
I keep my skin moisturized, which really helps my tans last. I swear by Brown Buns Airbrush Spray Tans. Just be sure to wait 24 hours after waxing before getting a spray tan.

BS: Dancing is a great workout. What are your favorite sweat-proof makeup, hair, and body products?
I’m pretty low-maintenance when it comes to makeup. I like to keep it simple when I’m rehearsing, but when it’s show time, waterproof mascara and foundation are a must. I always use Scott Barnes Body Bling, Make Up For Ever, Nars, and Dior.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries's wedding was a star-studded affair in Montecito last night. Guests like Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough were spotted on their way into the event, and once the party wrapped up, the attendees headed out of the private estate. Demi Lovato left in her car solo while Lindsay Lohan and mom Dina had a driver. Mario Lopez and his girlfriend Courtney Mazza were decked out in black and white as they waited for transportation alongside other partygoers. Kim's sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner changed out of their glamorous Vera Wang gowns and into white track suits, while Bruce Jenner still had on his bowtie as he made his way off the property. Their big day may be over but there's more fun in store for newlyweds Kim and Kris, who will celebrate their marriage with another bash in NYC later this month.

Cheryl Burke slipped into a tiny two-piece for a photo shoot in the Dominican Republic on Sunday. She enjoyed a similar break by the beach last year when we spotted her lounging in a bikini in Miami. Cheryl will get back to work soon when she starts promoting her new book, Dancing Lessons, during Dancing With the Stars' hiatus. Her professional pal Derek Hough won't be there, however, since he just announced he's taking the next season off to pursue other projects.

She's gearing up for the March 22 premiere of her show's 10th season, which will see Cheryl team up with NFL player Chad Ochocinco - check out the rest of this round's contestants! A handful of famous moms will join Chad and Cheryl in the competition, including Kate Gosselin and Pamela Anderson. There's a lot of physical activity in store for them all, though Cheryl says the secret to keeping her energy up is doing what she can to eat healthy.

Cheryl Burke Keeps It Healthy Even on the Go

With the new lineup of Dancing With the Stars announced and training under way, cast member Cheryl Burke is once again on the go. Because the two-time DWTS champion splits her time between the show and managing three dance studios, she is no stranger to travel. Cheryl, 25, recently told Shape that keeping up with healthy eating habits "can be especially grueling" when she's away from home. Here are some of Cheryl's tips for staying healthy when away from home.

Pack snacks. Keeping healthy snacks on hand is a great way to avoid having to eat out all of the time. "I'll munch on Triscuits and peanut butter or cut-up vegetables. And I always have a South Beach Living protein bar, fruit, or almonds in my bag."
Eat in the morning. Cheryl's learned to never underestimate the power of breakfast. "I used to skip breakfast. But now I know it gets your metabolism going and prevents you from overeating later. My go-to meal is an egg white omelet with lowfat cheese and whole wheat toast."

Order it your way. "I ask for restaurant dishes to be made with olive oil rather than butter or for them to hold the cheese. If they can't accommodate me, I find something else on the menu."
Go food shopping. If traveling for an extended period, Cheryl says to get grocery shopping. "If you have a fridge in your hotel room, stock up on a few healthy staples from a local supermarket or Whole Foods. When I'm on the tour bus, I'll make a grocery list that includes salad, nonfat vanilla yogurt, lowfat granola, and organic microwavable soups."
Go with the grain. Skip refined carbs and always go whole grain, says Cheryl. "I feel better about any food choice when it's served with fiber-rich pasta or bread."

Lauren, Selena and Kim Turn Out Stylishly in Hollywood

Many pretty young things were out in LA last night to attend the Hollywood Style Awards. Lauren Conrad took a break from thinking about the LA Candy movie to hit the white carpet in a floral dress, present an award and congratulate Young Stylemaker Brody Jenner. Kim was the lone Kardashian at the event and talked about how she's happy to let her sisters have the spotlight these days, though they're still working together on an upcoming line for Bebe. Hayden Panettiere and Selena Gomez posed in their minis and were just a few of the evening's big winners, but you guys seem split when it comes to deciding who was the best dressed.

Ashlee and Pete Trust Their Instincts in NYC

Diet Tips From Dancing With the Stars

If you're following this season of Dancing With the Stars, you've probably noticed the dancers' amazingly toned and strong bodies in their sexy and revealing costumes. If you're wondering how they stay fit and lean, here are some of the dieting secrets they shared in a recent issue of Us Weekly.
Melissa Rycroft says, "I eat what I like in moderation and try to have a few small meals throughout the day."

Julianne Hough says, "I eat only until I'm full." She eats five small meals throughout the day, and during the show she tries to cut out carbs and sweets. She doesn't restrict herself entirely, though, and says, "If I want to have dessert, I'll have it. I know I'll work it off."

Shawn Johnson loads up on fruit and protein, but if she has an urge for chocolate she says, "I'll satisfy my craving and move on." She stays slim and muscular by dancing eight hours a day.

Denise Richards trained with her partner Makism Chmerkovsky and got her abs back after having two kids. She went from a size 26 waist to a 24 from all that training, and was still eating pizza and ice cream.

Kym Johnson spends a lot of time doing core work to get her rock-hard abs. She also limits her carbs because she says, "I love fries and bread, but I see a real difference in my body when I don't eat them after 5 p.m." She'll still enjoy dessert when out to dinner with her boyfriend, but just a small portion.

Lil' Kim gets her meals and snacks from Freshology, a food delivery service. She eats a total of 1,200 to 1,400 calories a day, avoids heavy foods, and drinks a lot of water.

Lacey Schwimmer shed 10 pounds by ditching fatty foods and soda, and instead enjoys grilled chicken, steamed veggies, yogurt, and fruit. She recommends eating within an hour after working out.

Cheryl Burke dropped 10 pounds as well, by rehearsing eight hours a day, five days a week. She eats egg whites, whole grains, veggies, and lots of water. She also tries to avoid salt, and keeps snacks with her to avoid temptation.

Karina Smirnoff avoids meat but eats egg whites, fish, and salad. She has a tablespoon of olive oil on an empty stomach to help with digestion.

Holly Madison avoids liquid calories and drinks water instead.

Edyta Sliwinska sticks to 1,500 calories a day, eating foods such as cottage cheese, ground oats, berries, chicken salad, and cereal. She avoids pasta, bread, rice, and candy. She gets her toned legs from dancing in heels.

Has Birth Control Affected Your Weight?

As if there weren't enough factors to worry about in the weight control battle, some varieties of birth control can disturb a balance we may have achieved. In a recent interview, Dancing With the Stars celebrity Cheryl Burke spoke about her weight fluctuation and said, "I decided over the Summer to stop taking birth control pills. I did it thinking that I was going to lose more weight for the season. But it actually did the opposite. It made me gain weight."

It's the first I've heard of someone going off birth control and gaining weight - most women I know have either maintained or lost a few pounds. One way or another, has birth control affected the number on your scale?

Lauren Conrad Stays Stylish Even in the 1920s

Lauren Conrad looked beautiful dressed up as a glamorous flapper with her pink feather and matching boa at the Pur Jeans Halloween Party at STK in Hollywood on Friday night. Lo Bosworth showed up as Little Red Riding Hood and JC Chasez played astronaut. LC wasn't the only flapper that night, Kim Kardashian showed off yet another costume with her NFL boyfriend Reggie Bush. Looks like a blast was had by all before Lauren had to head to Atlanta for another campus visit on Saturday.
