Movie Preview: Renée Zellweger Is New in Town

The trailer for the romantic comedy New in Town, starring Renée Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr., seems to tell the whole story, and it looks like a predictable story at that. As the plot description states, "Renée Zellweger stars as a Miami-based consultant whose latest assignment, to restructure a manufacturing plant in small-town Minnesota, causes her to reconsider her professional and personal objectives once she settles into her new life."

And yet, if it's so predictable, why did I laugh out loud a few times while watching the trailer? There's something kind of adorable and funny about this movie, and I'm actually excited to see it. New in Town (which was previously titled Chilled in Miami) opens Jan. 30. To check out the trailer,

Renee Zellweger Chills in Marina del Rey and Manhattan

Renee Zellweger popped up looking sunny and ready for a workout on the set of her movie Chilled in Miami in Marina del Rey, CA yesterday afternoon. The outfit is a far cry from the period outfit we saw her filming another movie in recently, but this look seems to fit Renee perfectly. While the LA area Summer seems to be treating the actress well, NYC is where she's putting down some roots - she recently acquired another apartment in an Upper East Side of Manhattan co-op, making the total $8.2 million of property. Sounds like this former Texas girl loves the big city life.

Renee Wigs Out in Miami

After a quick Oscar time glamor break, Renee Zellweger was back on the set of Chilled in Miami yesterday. This time, however, she didn't have to brave freezing Canada and instead actually got to film in much warmer Miami. She was still all bundled up in a jacket despite being in the more tropical setting and spent some time fiddling with her wig. Bella wants to know if you like her hair better longer or shorter but I give my vote to whenever she's smiling.

Renée Zellweger Needs Some Mittens

Renée Zellweger was still finding ways to stay warm filming her new movie Chilled in Miami in Winnipeg, Canada on Friday. I'm sure the movie star didn't have to spend too much time waiting around outside in the freezing weather, but those bare fingers of hers make me cold just looking at them. While this movie sounds like it should be a cute little romantic comedy about a Miami businesswoman who moves to Minnesota for work and ends up falling in love with the town and trying to save the factory she's been sent to restructure, I'm still more excited to see her in Leatherheads. While that one has a bit of a marketing split personality the Clooney/Zellweger/Krasinski love triangle should be great.

Renée Is Covered All Ova' in Manitoba

Okay, so that rhyme is a bit of a stretch, but Renée Zellweger does deserve some props for braving the freezing cold temperatures filming her new movie, Chilled in Miami, in Manitoba, Canada yesterday. While Renée gets a pretty cute costar in Harry Connick Jr. for this film, nothing quite compares to her Leatherheads duo of George Clooney and John Krasinski. Not too much longer to wait for that one, finally - April is just around the corner. Fingers crossed it doesn't disappoint, but I'm thinking just seeing the boys in their old timey football gear will make it worth its while.

Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr. Chill in Miami

As the title suggests, these two are in negotiations to star together in a movie. The "fish out of water comedy" is titled Chilled in Miami and "centers on a Miami businesswoman who's transferred to the sticks of Minnesota."

The original title for this project was 32 and Single, so I'm certainly relieved to see that at least they changed that up (because, you know, it's the 2000s now and being 32 and single isn't all that unusual or tragic). However, I must say I don't really understand what Chilled in Miami means, exactly. I assume it has something to do with Zellweger's character's icy cold personality before slowing down and warming up to the Minnesotans charming small town ways.

Yawn. I so hope there's more to the storyline than this!

Whitney Port gave her strapless bikini an afternoon in the sun while on a Miami vacation yesterday. She headed down to Florida on Friday, tweeting, "Off to Miami for a fun beachy photo shoot with my Oslo friends!" Work didn't keep Whitney fully busy, as she was also chilling outside and engaged in some PDA with a mystery man. It seems Whitney has moved on from her former boyfriend, Ben Nemtin. The couple called it quits last June after dating for a year and a half. The rest will come in handy for Whitney before she shows her new collection for Whitney Eve at New York Fashion Week next month.
