Tom Hanks was the man of the hour last night at the 36th Film Society of Lincoln Center's Gala in NYC. Rita Wilson sparkled on his arm, while Ron Howard framed the perfect shot of Tom and Julia Roberts. Fresh off her trip to Venice, Charlize couldn't help but gush about Salma Hayek's wedding and how beautiful the bride looked in her gown.

After the big show in the Kodak Theater, the first stop for many of the attendees was the Governors Ball. Along with attending this year's Oscars via the red carpet and the press room, we were fortunate enough to have a ticket to the fancy affair. While on the inside we watched the celebrities feast on their Wolfgang Puck meal set in the Asian-themed room decor.

Last night, the whole Hairspray cast was on hand to show off their film at at ShoWest in Las Vegas. John Travolta, a seriously hot Michelle Pfeiffer, Brittany Snow and newcomer Nicole Blonsky hammed it up on the red carpet in celebration of the remake of John Waters' 1998 classic cult film (and recent Broadway hit). In the movie, Travolta gets back to his musical roots, something he hasn't done for 30 years (the dancing in Pulp Fiction not withstanding), but this role is a far cry from his Saturday Night Fever Days.

Despite rumors that Graydon Carter was scaling things back for this year's Vanity Fair Oscars party, the soiree was as A-List as ever at its new venue the Sunset Towers. Jennifer Aniston could relax after her presenting duties, and when she and John Mayer hit the party, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. The couple cuddled up every chance they got, and he twittered a sweet message about her.

After taking the stage to accept their awards, the night's big winners — and some of the exciting presenters — walked backstage to pose for photos and talk to the press. Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker skipped the interview aspect of things instead posing pretty in front of the big gold men before running off to the after parties. The big award winners were still glowing from their wins when they stepped in front of the mics to talk about what brought them there.

Last night, the Oscars provided an exciting finale to another awesome award season. We were treated to a new format that kicked off with Hugh Jackman showing off his singing and dancing skills before having fun and joking with the big names of the night. Later on he was joined by Beyonce, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Amanda Seyfried for a fun medley honoring musicals.

The cast of Hairspray kept the party going long after the film premiered in NYC. The star-studded cast is obviously very excited for their movie to hit the theaters this weekend, and it sounds like they couldn't be more proud of their project. The film had special meaning for its star Nikki Blonsky, who makes her debut in the movie and can't wait to spread the message behind Hairspray.

Last night Vantiy Fair helped kick off the Tribeca Film Festival with a party attended by a variety of big names. Robert De Niro and David Bowie were among those who flashed big smiles for the cameras, but apparently there is a fair amount of tension between these two under the surface. It seems that De Niro is not a big fan of Bowie's High Line Festival, which is set to start just three days after Tribeca ends and is catered towards a younger crowd.

Robert De Niro's Tribeca Film Festival opened last night in an unconventional way. Al Gore hosted the event, which began with 9 short films about the environment in lieu of a full-length, big name movie like Spiderman-3 (which will premiere later on at Tribeca). The films are produced by SOS (Save Our Selves), which works towards raising awareness about global warming and climate change.
