Sandra Bullock Goes Short For the amfAR Inspiration Gala

Sandra Bullock wore a sequined All Saints mini to attend last night's amfAR Inspiration Gala at LA's Chateau Marmont. She was joined on the black carpet by industry friends like her agent, Kevin Huvane. She shared space on the photo line with other leading ladies like Selma Blair and Garcelle Beauvais, and once inside, mingled with pals like Sean Penn and Colin Farrell, who brought his sister Claudine Farrell as his date. Kevin Huvane bought a Warhol painting for Sandra's son Louis during the evening's auction portion. Sandra joked about Kevin's buying Warhol's "Peaches" print for $14,000 while onstage addressing the crowd and paying tribute to Elizabeth Taylor. Sandra said, "I want to thank Kevin Huvane and Bryan Lourd for not being cheap f-cks and gifting my son with his first Warhol."

Sandra's back on the West Coast following a recent stay in NYC, where she joined best bud Ryan Reynolds to celebrate his 35th birthday. Ryan Reynolds brought girlfriend Blake Lively along for the bash at the club The Box, but the couple have now also left the Big Apple. Blake and Ryan are in Boston together, so he can continue working on R.I.P.D. with Jeff Bridges.

Move over Edward Cullen - an old-school breed of vampire has returned to the big screen and his style is much more exhilarating than your PG take on bloodsucking. Rather than pine after a high school love, he’s interested in doing what vampires do best: kill. In Fright Night, Colin Farrell stars as Jerry Dandridge, a charismatic vampire who has recently moved into a suburban neighborhood in Las Vegas and begun victimizing the locals. Anton Yelchin plays Charley Brewster, a high school senior who lives next door to Jerry and suspects he might be responsible for the recent bout of disappearances in the neighborhood.

The film is a remake of a 1985 horror-comedy by the same name, and it does a great job of sinking its fangs into each genre, providing a movie that is equals parts funny and frightening. read more. Farrell nails the role of a super-seductive bloodsucker. When his eyes aren’t turned black in preparation for attack, he’s using them to flirtatiously stare at every woman on the block - the neighborhood hottie, Charley’s mom Jane (Toni Collette), and even Charley's teenage girlfriend Amy (Imogen Poots), whom Jerry unabashedly calls “ripe.” He flip flops back and forth between charmer and murderous monster, but his scenes in attack mode don’t necessarily incite huge amounts of fear. That's partly because Jerry is more of a pathological, methodical killer, who tends to lure his victims with sex appeal and relish the kill with controlled calmness. However, the special effects, which transform Farrell’s face into a terrifying creature, carrying out the task of making you jump in your seat, a feat that Jerry's hunting style lacks. Yelchin is adequate, but overshadowed by supporting cast members, like Christopher Mintz-Plasse. He plays Charley’s former nerdy best friend, and delivers some of the film’s funniest moments, including poking fun at Twilight. David Tennant also emerges as one of the funniest characters in his role as a magician whose act revolves around pretending to be a vampire slayer. With his heavy eye-liner and leather pants, he comes off as a cross between Jack Sparrow and Russell Brand, with also provides extra laughs. The intense chase and fight scenes between Charley and Jerry fulfill the horror side of things. Tension-filled exchanges, like when Jerry tries to determine if Charley knows he’s a vampire, and when Charley breaks into Jerry’s home to save a victim, had me biting my nails. Regardless of how you like your vampires, Fright Night will entertain you with a steady stream of laughs and plenty of moments that are creepy (but won't give you nightmares).

Colin Farrell clearly enjoyed playing the sexy-but-ruthless vampire Jerry in the upcoming remake of Fright Night. In fact, the actor was such a fan of the original horror movie that he watched it nearly a dozen times as a kid! We had a chance to sit down with Colin and the film's director, Craig Gillespie, at a recent press day for the project in Beverly Hills. They talked with us about some of the movie's scary stunt work and told us why Colin's character is a different sort of vampire than the ones you might see on True Blood or in the Twilight saga. Colin Farrell Goes Shirtless on the Total Recall Set With His Son

Colin Farrell carried his son Henry around the set of Total Recall in Toronto today. Colin was shirtless as he headed into his trailer with Henry, who is almost 3 years old, during a break from filming. His costar Jessica Biel has also been hard at work on the movie in Canada since production started in June, and Jessica Biel was spotted on the Total Recall set with bloody makeup and bruises last month. Colin's switching gears for the action film after his comedy Horrible Bosses had a successful opening over the weekend. Up next for the actor is Fright Night, which will be released in August and has him playing a vampire named Jerry.

Fright Night Trailer: Colin Farrell Takes a Bite Out of Teens

Colin Farrell showed up paunchy and bald in the recent Horrible Bosses trailer, but in the preview for Fright Night he's looking a whole lot better . . . even though he may be dead. In the remake of the '80s horror flick, Farrell plays a vampire named Jerry (Jerry? Not the sexiest bloodsucker name, but OK) who moves in next door to Charley (Anton Yelchin), a high school student who's too busy thinking about his girlfriend to notice that some of his classmates are disappearing.

He's forced to take notice by his friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), and pretty soon Jerry has his teeth pointed at Charley, his girlfriend, and Charley's mom (Toni Collette). Charley then suits up as a vampire slayer to go head-to-head against Jerry and protect everyone from the new vampire in town. Fright Night is just the latest movie to capitalize on the sizzling hotness of vampires, but this actually looks like clever and cool - if anything, the Jerry/Charley showdown will be a fun fight to the finish. Horrible Bosses Trailer: Aniston, Farrell, Spacey Hilariously Harass an All-Star Cast

Ensemble comedies are a dime a dozen in Hollywood these days, but a roundup of famous faces doesn't always guarantee a great film. That's why I'm more than pleased with this first trailer for Horrible Bosses; it brings together an unexpected assortment of talent, and the result is hilarious. The movie centers on three buddies played by Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day who decide to take down their respective bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, and Jennifer Aniston). And by "take down" I mean kill, with the help of hit man Jamie Foxx.

The juxtaposition of these average joes with their over-the-top employers is already amazing: Spacey plays the typical arrogant corporate jerk and Farrell is practically unrecognizable as a bald bigot. Aniston is a huge highlight stepping out of her comfort zone to play a nutty, raunchy dentist who's consistently sexually harassing her assistant (Day). James Franco and Anne Hathaway kicked off the Oscars with a pre-recorded tour through the year's best film nominees, then they took the stage for a few live jokes. Their families even got in the act, with Anne's mother standing up in the crowd to tell her to stand up straight, and James's occasionally foul-mouthed grandmother expressing her excitement at "seeing Marky Mark!" Tom Hanks was on hand to announce a few early winners, then Kirk Douglas presented the best actress in a supporting role honor to a truly surprised Melissa Leo. Her speech was heartfelt after a grueling award season, though she caused the censors some alarm by uttering the F-word. She later, though, apologized profusely for the slipup. Justin Timberlake and best-dressed Mila Kunis announced the animated awards before Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin stepped out in matching white jackets to present Aaron Sorkin with best adapted screenplay for The Social Network and further writing honors to the man behind The King's Speech. Anne Hathaway ditched her dress for a pantsuit to joke with Hugh Jackman during a musical number, and James Franco dressed as Marilyn Monroe, pink gown, blond hair and all, to introduce Helen Mirren and Russell Brand. A stunning Giorgio Armani clad Reese Witherspoon stepped out to open the envelope containing the name of the best actor in a supporting role winner - Christian Bale won for his role in The Fighter, and after giving a shout-out to the real-life Dicky Ecklund, he teared up when telling his wife she's his mast in the storm of his life. Fellow Australians Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman were up next as presenters, followed by Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey handing out the best sound mixing honors. Anne enjoyed many costume changes and wore seven glamorous gowns, everything from Valentino to Lanvin, and weigh in on which was her best!

Mandy Moore was soon on stage, having changed from her gold Monique Lhuillier into a strapless blue number, to perform a track from Tangled nominated for best original song with her costar Zachary Levi - Gwyneth Paltrow later sang a number from Country Strong, but Randy Newman ended up taking honors for his music in Toy Story 3. Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal teamed up to present the best short honors before the much-anticipated Twilight moment, which was an auto-tuning the movies and our favorite Twilight stars. Sherlock Holmes buddies Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. joked about RDJ's checkered past together on stage, then Celine Dion took the stage to sing during the "In Memoriam" montage.

Subtle sparkling Halle Berry had the microphone afterward to say a special tribute to legendary actress Lena Horne. The big awards came quickly next, with Tom Hooper clinching directing honors for The King's Speech and mentioning that he shares "a triangle of man love" with his stars Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush. Jeff Bridges presented Natalie Portman with her best actress statue, and the Black Swan star tearfully thanked her "love" Benjamin Millepied for giving her the best role yet - becoming a mother. Sandra Bullock handed off the best actor gold man to Colin Firth, who managed to repress his urge to dance long enough to get out his words of thanks. Love for his movie kept coming, as it even picked up the best picture!
