Amanda Holds Her Clothes dear To Her Heart

Amanda Bynes showed off her latest designs at the launch of her new clothing line, dear, at Steve and Barry's in NYC yesterday. We're psyched to see that another celebrity is creating products geared toward young women at a price they can actually afford. First SJP's Bitten line and now Amanda's dear! According to Amanda, Steve and Barry's awesome prices were what drew her in. She said,

“From the first time I met the Steve & Barry’s folks in one of their stores, I got it – I totally got what they were about and knew I wanted to be a part of it. With dear, I think we’ve developed a lifestyle brand that girls are going to embrace. I love the fact that girls can shop for a whole wardrobe and mix it and match it in so many ways and still have money left to go out and show off their cute new looks!”

It definitely looks like Amanda has a flair for design from the first looks of her newest clothes and accessories. We can't wait to see which bargain-hunting young celebs agree with us.

Amanda Bynes Is Such A Dear

Fresh off her endless Hairspray promotional tour, Amanda Bynes was back on the red carpet at Sushi Samba (yum, yum) in NYC last night to celebrate her new Steve & Barry's clothing line, Dear. Just like SJP with Bitten, Amanda opted to keep her line at the affordable chain so all her little fans can get their hands on her wares. Even though Amanda's been looking more and more like a generic blonde starlet these days, her spunky personality still separates her from the pack. Obviously she's still very appealing to the younger teen set, too. Check out the preview for her latest teen movie, Sydney White, a modern take on Snow White.

You Can Tell a lot About Someone by How They Sleep

Everyone has a sleeping position they prefer. I could never fall asleep on my back and I just found out that the way you sleep may give insight into your personality (or someone else's if you sneak a peek at them snoozing).

Professor Chris Idzikowski, director of the UK Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service analyzed 6 common sleeping positions among 1,000 people, and found that each is linked to personality traits.

Fetus: This is the most common sleeping position - 41% of people sleep like this. These people are tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax and open up. More than twice as many women as men tend to sleep like this.

Log: 15% of people sleep lying on their side with both arms down by their body. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd. They may be trusting of strangers and gullible.

read more Yearner: 13% of people sleep on their side with both arms out in front. They are described as having an open nature, but can be suspicious and cynical. They can be indecisive, but once they have made a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it. Soldier: If you sleep on your back, you are among the 8%. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don't like drama, and set high standards for themselves and others. Freefaller: 7% of people sleep on their belly with their hands around a pillow, and their head turned to one side. Often friendly, warm and self-confident people, they can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath. They don't take criticism very well, and don't like extreme situations. Starfish: Sleeping on your back with both arms around a pillow is the least popular - only 5% of people choose this position. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don't like to be the center of attention. Well there you have it. This info is kind of like reading your horoscope - interesting to hear, possibly true, but should be taken with a grain of salt. What do you think about all this? Source

A Love Advice Columnist Has a Major Crush (on Her Home!)

Advice columnists are used to answering questions - though usually not about themselves. Today, love advice columnist Wendy Atterberry of Dear Wendy is revealing her crushes and love for all things home-related. Wendy lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband, Drew, their baby boy, Jackson, and their two cats, Simone and Miles (who make a cameo in the photos here). Keep reading to see what Wendy has to say about why she's majorly crushing on her home.

What she most loves about her home:

It's a tie for my favorite spot in my home between my bedroom (and specifically, my bed), and my "china cabinet" wall. My husband, Drew, and I painted all the walls in our place, inspired by the colors of the beach, so I love the shades of green in both spots. We have a king-size bed, which feels like a luxury, and I love Sunday mornings when all five of us - Drew, our new baby Jackson, our two cats, Miles and Simone, and I - all pile in the bed and read books, nap, and talk. Drew and I love to travel, so above our bed we framed postcards of all the places we've traveled together in the nearly six years we've known one another. The china cabinet in my other favorite spot of the apartment belonged to my great-great-grandparents and I just love it. It's filled with lots of glassware for entertaining, which is something we enjoy doing. Everything else in that spot is a second-hand buy, found at garage sales or thrift stores, with the exception of the gray wool blanket on the bench, which I found somewhere online.

What others love most about her home:

Probably our "bar," which is usually pretty well-stocked thanks to generous friends who bring bottles of stuff whenever we have get-togethers. People also comment that our place is "cozy," which could also be a euphemism for "small," but here in New York where most places are tiny, I like to think it's a genuine compliment.

What she'd love to add to her home:

Luckily, we already have most everything I'd want in a home - a walk-in closet, a big bathtub, a dishwasher, central air, and a washer and dryer. We even have a large balcony, which is pretty awesome in the warmer seasons. But if I could wave a magic wand and make this truly my dream home, I'd add one more bedroom (and maybe an elevator!); our second bedroom - now our baby's room - is awfully small and one day we'll outgrow this place, which will be sad. More realistically, I'd love to change the light fixture in the dining area, which is pretty ugly. We're renters, so it doesn't make sense to put any more money into the place, but if we owned, that would be the first - and maybe only thing - I'd change. Oh, and more original artwork. Oh, and a hammock! If only money were no object . . .

Domino fans rejoice! The dearly departed shelter publication will be brought to life again through a special print edition titled Quick Fixes. Condé Nast will publish a compilation of the magazine's best home-decorating stories, highlighting tricks and tips for easy and affordable ways to dramatically change the look of your home.

Condé Nast editorial director Thomas J. Wallace noted in a press release that "this special edition of Domino is another example of Condé Nast’s objective to bring brands to life across multiple platforms, and give consumers more of what they love in new and exciting ways. Domino Quick Fixes will be a treasure trove of useful and creative information, and a must-read for any Domino fan."

Whether it's sprucing up a tired piece of furniture or breaking down the steps for more elaborate DIYs, like painting a stairwell, the publication will be full of inspiring ideas for weekend warriors. Domino Quick Fixes will be available on national newsstands from April 17 through July 16, 2012, for $11. Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams tackle a true story in The Vow, playing a husband and wife trying to rebuild their life after a car accident leaves her with no memory of their relationship. I talked to the onscreen pair at the recent press day for the movie in Beverly Hills. Channing, who is married to fellow actor Jenna Dewan, said being a young husband made him especially connected to the role, and we also chatted about his and Rachel's shared tendencies toward romantic fare like The Notebook and Dear John. While the subject of their new movie might be dramatic, they also admitted to some lighter moments on set, and talked about a scene that left Rachel "borderline hallucinogenic."
