Aug 17 2007 - 8:33am Amanda Bynes showed off her
latest designs at the launch of her
new clothing line, dear, at Steve and Barry's in NYC yesterday. We're psyched to see that another celebrity is creating products geared toward young women at a price they can actually afford. First
SJP's Bitten line and now Amanda's dear!

Cute ♥
1Ok I love Amanda and all, but I don't get it - these all look like pieces done elsewhere for the last few years. How is she "designing" them?
I love the black and grey sweater, but my experience with Steve and Barry's is that their non-college stuff falls apart within a couple washings.
2I like the stripe blouse
3I love the striped sweater, too bad the closest Steve & Barry's is about an hour away!!
4oh i really like her clothes but i have seen this things in store already
5I think it's nice that they're doing more affordable lines for people to buy.
6I wish I could remember who it was, but when I was younger there was a BIG basketball star who refused to do a contract with Nike or Reebok. He said that he didnt want his name to be on a shoe that cost that much money and that people would fight over or die over. And so he put his name on this really affordable brand that cost like 30 bucks. I thought that was cool. Gosh, I wish I could remember who that was!
This looks like crap from Hot Topic. A flair for design? Seriously, this stuff doesn't even look hip. If you're a teenager and you really wanna save money, go to Kmart or Walmart. You're going to find the exact same clothes there. But my style advice would be skip over this stuff in any form. 'Tis ugly.
7My problem is that while they're afforable, in the long run I end up spending more because when the clothes fall apart, I have to buy replacements.
8I love Amanda Bynes, but she looks so fake these days!!
9Thanks Greggie! I never knew about the clothes here falling apart. But the fact that they do makes me
I wonder if SJP's Bitten line is the same..
I really like the hearts sweater for some reason
10Clothes look cute!
11canthelpwatching, you're talking about stefan marbury....his starbury shoes are partly what inspired SJP to do her bitten line for steve and barry's.
i don't so much love amanda's line....but me and "bitten" are really good friends lately....and it's all constructed really well, and does NOT fall apart.
12canthelpwatching i think you were thinking of marburry (sp) from the new york knicks, who i believe started this whole affordable celebrity line in steven & barrys. even SJP mentioned that she was inspired by what he did. and now from what i heard from my little brother, even ben wallace, detroit pistion turned chicago bulls, has his own affordable shoes out. not sure where though, i haven't seen his steven & barry's.
13why has she been looking so plastic these days? with the same generic smile, all that makeup and horrendously bleached blonde hair. she's only a few months older than me and i think it's probably really scary to see her with the makeup off. i loved her on What I Like About You. Now I'm not so sure what I like about HER. meh. i hope she's not gonna become another Lindsay.
14ASKMETOSAY, you beat me to the punch. you b*tch. i kid, i kid!
i feel that amanda's line is something i see everywhere, from forever 21 to wet seal, charloette rouse and maybe even top shop, which i'm sure are made from better fabrics than "dear."
15I wish Amanda would lay off the makeup. It ages her - a lot - and hides her natural adorableness.
Perhaps her line as well as SJP's holds up well. But I'm not willing to try it. If it were at another store I might, but Steve and Barry's, no way.
16I know all celebs have to pose certain ways in pics, but Amanda always looks so forced.
I'll have to check out her line.
17awe i love her! and i would like to buy some of her stuff!!
18I guess I'll stay with Forever 21
19yeah tat, i'm staying with forever 21 on this one. although i still love sjp's line. i was bitten. hahahaha get it, tat.
i'm a dork. lol.
20I like her, but I think she is wearing too much make-up in these pics. I think she is cuter when she has less blonde hair and less make-up.
21it just looks like she stole a whole lot of those designs - they're generic i'm sure you can get clothes like that anywhere.
22that`s cute\fun line !
i like the grey&black sweater .
tatti-that heart sweater is so gay ♥
23Too much makeup
24She looks odd and fake in the photos- come on Amanda, be yourself!
25i went to the steve and barrys near me and they didn't have much of amanda's line.. i was super sad.. =( i was trying to look for that heart jacket but they didn't have it!! =( i wanted to meet amanda!! lol... anyways.. her line is cheap and cute!! =) i have those jeans that she's wearing!! =)
26Ya ive seen these pieces in so many shops of late...in fact they almost look last season!........ive got a few of those striped shirts in my closet now!.......she is a cutie tho!
27does the girl have any other face expression?
28Nothing special. What flair?
29Cute! Good for her...at least she manages to stay away from trouble!
30Cute. I like her and her clothes also look very nice.
31i don't even think there is a steve & barry's anywhere near me. the first time i heard about it was when everyone was talking about sjp. this stuff looks forever 21ish.
32I LOVE HER CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
33Long, lush, beautiful hair.
34And her smile is sooooooo pretty.
35The sweater on the maniquin is my style.
36I love this look but it isnt practical for women with hips.
37I love the babydoll blouse look because it levels the playing field for most women.
The clothes from Steve and Barry's are cheap and they do not fit well. I bought a 'Bitten' jacket in a Small and it was HUGE and cut so poor, there was NO shape to it. Forget spending $20 on some cheap sh*t you are better off dropping $100 on something worth it. Amanda is so cute but she looks SO plastic in these pictures, all the girls in Hollyweird look the same, its scary whatever happened to originality???
38Even though the clothes are retreads...they're not bad for the younger generation.
But let's talk about Amanda's hair/mu...she looks fabulous!! Kudos to her stylists!
39What's up with the good new clothing designers all coming out in New York....and we in L.A. have Paris's new Herpie Line!!!
40gosh she is so grown up!! i remember when she was brand new on nickalodeon!! awww!!! she is really pretty!
41My experience with the Bitten line has been good. And I'm surprised when I read comments about how the clothes fall apart after washing. All of my pieces still look as good as the day I bought them and have been through several wash cycles.
42i really love amanda but the whole celebrity line thing botters me a lil bit. i mean they sell cheap clothes for cheap prices and then (with that money) buy themselves brand name, expensive things.
43I really wish stores would stop selling the same thing. It's gotten to the point where I can't shop anywhere because everything is alike at all types of price points!
44She needs to lay off the makeup, she's starting to remind me of Brooke Hogan minus the orange! These designs don't really look new to me.. looks like everything else thats in the stores these days.
45she looks cute in the pics. as for the clothes - meh.
46The clothes aren't anything I would buy, but the younger chicks might go for that. Is it me, or does she look plastic like she has had some work done? yikes
47First of all, she is hideous. Secondly, she was wearing so much gross make-up on her plug for her clothing on E! that they had to blur the screen so that you couldn't get a good look at her ugliness.
48He clothes look cute. I will prob check them out.
49what is wrong with her mouth? i just don't get why she looks like a wax figure.
