Diane Lane's Grecian David Meister gown is the perfect satiny shade of Mediterranean blue, and it offers a nice contrast to the crimson of the SAG Awards red carpet. With the color and styling, the dress could look very formal, even a little austere, but Diane's tried to soften things with a casual ponytail, minimal jewelry, and makeup that looks like it would be just as appropriate for lunch with friends as it is for the red carpet. Casting Update: Who's in For Man of Steel

The principal cast of Man of Steel, Zack Snyder's new Superman movie, is getting more exciting by the week. We've known for months that The Tudors star Henry Cavill had nabbed the lead role, with Amy Adams beating out tons of other actresses to play his leading lady, but the rest of the characters are still being cast. With all the rumors running rampant, it can be hard to keep track of who's playing who, so here's a rundown on which actors will bring the beloved comic to the big screen in the newest reboot.

British import Henry Cavill will play Clark Kent/Superman. Born Kal-El from the planet Krypton, Superman is an alien who battles evil when he's not disguised as his alter ego, Clark Kent. Clark works as a reporter for The Daily Planet.
Amy Adams will play Lois Lane, Clark's love interest and fellow reporter at The Daily Planet.
Russell Crowe is in talks to star as Jor-El, Superman's birth father.
Kevin Costner will play Jonathan Kent, Superman's adoptive father.
Diane Lane is Martha Kent, Superman's adoptive mom and Jonathan's wife.
Michael Shannon will square off against Superman as the villainous General Zod, the head of the Krypton military.
German actress Antje Traue has been cast as female villain Faora.
Julia Ormond is attached to play Lara, Superman's birth mother.
Laurence Fishburne will play Perry White, Clark Kent's editor at The Daily Planet.

Kate Hudson and Drew Barrymore Bring Their Main Men Along For a Night of Fashion and Philanthropy

Drew Barrymore and a pregnant Kate Hudson led the stylish way to a benefit dinner for the Natural Resources Defense Council's Ocean Initiative on Saturday, held at the Malibu home of movie executive Ron Meyer and his wife Kelly. The evening was cohosted by Chanel, which helps explain the high-fashion picks of the guests like Rachel Zoe and Courteney Cox. Drew Barrymore brought along her boyfriend Will Kopelman, and there were other happy duos there, too. Kate Hudson and her fiancé Matthew Bellamy made a fancy entrance following a low-key week of outings to see her son Ryder's athletic events and casual lunch dates. Expecting parents Bryce Dallas Howard and Seth Gabel also made it a date night, as did Seth Gabel and his wife Caroline Fentress, Gabrielle Reece with Laird Hamilton, and Barbra Streisand with James Brolin. Drew and Will led the PDA stakes, though, as is their usual habit. They kissed on their way inside Rob and Kelly's house, with Drew decked out in an outfit from Chanel that she likely picked out during a visit to its Beverly Hills shop last week.

Diane Lane to Play Superman's Mom

We're on the edge of our seats waiting to find out who will play Superman's love interest in Zack Snyder's new film, but for now we've got an actress to take on the other leading lady in his life: Diane Lane is set to play Superman's mother, Martha Kent. According to Snyder, "This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman." Most of you seem to be on board with Henry Cavill as Superman, so how do you feel about Lane as his mom?

Justin Timberlake Is Well Enough to Toast True Grit With the Coens

Justin Timberlake joined Joel Coen last night for an LA screening of True Grit. The western film, which hits theaters on Dec. 22, is the latest offering from Joel and his brother Ethan Coen and stars Matt Damon and Josh Brolin, who also hit the reception with his wife, Diane Lane. Matt wasn't able to turn out for the event, however, as he's filming Contagion in Illinois with his very cold costar Gwyneth Paltrow. Justin is making the social rounds during a break from work on his new movie Now, as production was halted after he sustained an injury on set. JT's evidently well enough to continue doing press for The Social Network as the cast courts some love from the Oscars and even take girlfriend Jessica Biel out for a date.

Ryan Gosling brought a special lady, his mom, Donna, as his date to the second annual Governors Awards in LA on Saturday night. The birthday boy celebrated his 30th at Disneyland on Friday, and while he's had plenty of memorable onstage moments in the past, the evening was all about the honorees like Francis Ford Coppola and Eli Wallach. Sofia Coppola came out to support her dad alongside Natalie Portman in a gorgeous purple Lanvin gown, a Marchesa-wearing Hilary Swank, and Elle Fanning in Valentino. The ladies were joined by guests Stephen Dorff, who recently showed off his shirtless physique, Justin Long, and Josh Brolin, who stuck by his red-hot wife, Diane Lane.

Single Carey Hits the Hollywood Awards With Halle, Mila, James, and More

It was another big evening for celebrities in LA last night with the annual Hollywood Awards Gala taking over the Beverly Hilton Hotel. James Franco added a dapper touch to the red carpet after a busy weekend of dinner meetings and attending the 127 Hours junket, while Mila Kunis, who was fresh from promoting Black Swan in London, posed in a black Monique Lhuillier. Leighton Meester was on the West Coast during a break from Gossip Girl duties in NYC, looking fresh and pretty in Elie Saab. Halle Berry picked a similar hue for her latest star-studded event, after bringing Olivier Martinez along for Saturday's Carousel of Hope Ball.

Carey Mulligan, meanwhile, added her own dose of color in a burgundy Giles dress. She was on a break from filming Drive, but it's her personal life that's been making news. Carey apparently really has split from Shia LaBeouf, though yesterday she didn't mention anything about rumored new guy Tom Sturridge. She admitted that another rumor is true too, as she's currently staying at a Best Western hotel. Carey said, "I don't know why people are so down on the Best Western. They have the best sweet potato fries I've ever had." She took the stage once inside the event along with other actors like Zach Galifianakis.
