Clive, Jon, Megan, and More Round Out a Star-Studded Toronto Film Festival Weekend

The last few days were star-studded ones during the Toronto Film Festival. Jon Hamm joined his movie-making and real-life partner, Jennifer Westfeldt, on Friday evening to premiere their Friends With Kids. Jon and Jennifer had their costars Adam Scott and Megan Fox, who wore a little red dress, on the carpet. Clive Owen was the hottie posing for cameras Saturday at a screening of Killer Elite with costar Jason Statham. Yesterday, Elizabeth Olsen showed off Martha Marcy May Marlene with Hugh Dancy and Sarah Paulson, and Diego Luna joined Gael Garcia Bernal to debut the picture Miss Bala that they produced. Antonio Banderas attended the premiere of Pedro Almodovar's The Skin I Live In with wife Melanie Griffith on his arm. The fun wrapped up last night at a Vitamwater party for Killer Joe that brought out James Franco, Anna Kendrick, and Jessica Chastain - stay tuned for more info from the Toronto Film Festival!

Que Bueno: Will Ferrell Goes Spanish For Casa de mi Padre Trailer

Just in time for Will Ferrell's appearance on The Office, we get to take a peek at his Spanish-language film, Casa de mi Padre. It's everything we expected (and maybe just a teensy bit more): a full-on telenovela spoof, complete with sexo (that's sex to you), guns blazing, and slapping a-plenty. Despite the language barrier, Ferrell's character doesn't seem too far off his typical schmoes, but it's pretty entertaining to see Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna rise to the occasion and ham it up.

I couldn't help chuckling at the trailer, but I'm still a little wary of how this is going to pan out into a full-length film - it seems better suited to a four-minute Funny or Die sketch. Regardless, there's no denying that they deserve points for creativity. Watch it and weigh in when you

James, Natalie, and More Triumph at the Independent Spirit Awards

This evening's Independent Spirit Awards in LA gave Hollywood another chance to celebrate the best actors and films of the year. Many stars looked amazing on the red carpet, including lovely ladies like Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, and Jennifer Lawrence. It's the last show before the Oscars - make sure to print out Buzz's ballot to pick your winners for tomorrow - but not all of the usual suspects of this year's award season went home winners today. Pregnant and glowing Natalie did seize the best actress statue for her ballerina role in Black Swan, but unlike at many other shows, it was James Franco who was crowned best actor for 127 Hours. He headed into the press room after accepting his honor, and revealed a few hints about what's in store at the Academy Awards.

This show was full of A-list presenters, like a side-swept Nicole Kidman and Jeremy Renner. Twilight's Anna Kendrick was alongside How I Met Your Mother star and director of the upcoming Happythankyoumoreplease Josh Radnor. A Chanel-clad Naomi Watts, who attended with Liev Schreiber, took the stage with Ewan McGregor. James made the rounds to chat with Natalie's director, Darren Aronofsky, and Diego Luna. There were plenty of adorable couples in attendance, too, as Nicole spent time with her husband, Keith Urban, and Jon Hamm stayed close to his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt. Nominee Annette Bening was next to Warren Beatty, while pals Jeremy and Mark Ruffalo caught up. Celebrity Kids and Parents Flock to Star-Studded Yo Gabba Gabba Shows!

The hottest ticket in LA this weekend wasn't a new club or A-list red carpet, instead the stars and their adorable little ones headed out to see Yo Gabba Gabba at the Nokia Theater. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden brought Harlow and Sparrow to check out the action on Saturday. Nicole twittered a hello from the event and even took the stage to dance with Joel at one point. The two are rumored to be tying the knot this upcoming weekend and she's been logging long hours at the gym in preparation. Their friend Jessica Alba and Honor also checked out the tour on Saturday, and the actress joked to her followers that her "'cool' days are over" after enjoying the kid-friendly entertainment. Both Kingston and Zuma Rossdale excitedly watched the performance alongside mom Gwen Stefani while Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn looked like they were having as much fun as their twins Charlie and Dolly. Yo Gabba Gabba has tons of celebrity fans including the Jolie-Pitt family. Brad dressed up as DJ Lance Rock for Halloween last year, though the family missed the show since they're off having their own festive times for Pax's birthday in Paris.

Jennifer Lopez Celebrates Gucci With Little Models Max and Emme

Jennifer Lopez brought her twins Max and Emme out for the launch of Gucci's new children's collection on Saturday in LA. J Lo took advantage of the opportunity to make two arrivals, entering in green with Max and also putting on a black dress to pose with Emme. Joining J Lo at the bash were her friends Leah Remini, Diego Luna, and Jennifer Meyer - make sure to enter Fab's contest to win a signature piece from Meyer's collection! J Lo and her kids are front and center in Gucci's new ads, but the mom of two is also branching out to create a line of clothing, and possibly home goods, for Kohl's with husband Marc Anthony. Jennifer's now focusing on her fashion endeavors, and will be busy in January when American Idol kicks off its tenth season complete with big format changes.

Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna Reunite For Will Ferrell

Two of my favorite movie and real-life BFFs, Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, are reuniting on screen yet again, and this time it's in the name of Will Ferrell. The two have been cast in Ferrell's Spanish-language comedy Casa de Mi Padre (yes, Ferrell's Spanish-language comedy. Don't worry, there will be subtitles).

The Y Tu Mamá También and Rudo y Cursi costars sound like they have fairly big parts; Luna will play Ferrell's brother, and Garcia Bernal will play a family friend. Luna and Garcia Bernal starring in a mainstream comedy? Thank you, movie casting gods. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Shia and Carey Glam Up the Cannes Red Carpet With Kate, Salma, Gael, and Diego

The cast of Money Never Sleeps wrapped up their afternoon press obligations and got black-tie ready for their big premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Lovebirds Carey Mulligan and Shia LaBeouf kept their distance on the red carpet, as he stuck with Michael Douglas and she posed with Josh Brolin. Despite recent speculation on the state of Josh's marriage, his wife, Diane Lane, was out this evening to support his latest big-screen endeavor.

Kate Beckinsale put on her latest show-stopping dress to take in Shia and Carey's movie as a juror. Salma Hayek was once again with husband Francois-Henri Pinault, this time clad in a gown matching the red carpet. BFFs Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, meanwhile, joined young actors Christopher and Gerardo Ruiz-Esparza for a screening of Abel. The project is Diego's directorial debut, while Gael served as producer. Rudo y Cursi: Soccer, Fame, and Brotherhood

Written and directed by Carlos Cuarón, Rudo y Cursi is a quirky satire with a dark twist. The story follows two brothers named Beto (Diego Luna) and Tato (Gael García Bernal) on a familiar journey that takes them from humble roots on a banana farm all the way to professional soccer super-stardom.

Nearly seven years after Luna and García Bernal went road-tripping together in Y Tu Mamá También (also written by Cuarón and directed by his brother Alfonso) the two stars hardly look like they've aged and it's clear they had a good time reuniting on the set. However, while both actors deliver exuberant and forceful performances, their energy can't quite keep Cuarón's narrative on track. The result is a movie that is a joy to take in, but muddled in tone. To see what I mean,

The boys are discovered by a talent scout named Batuta, who also narrates the film via voiceover. At first he can only take one of the brothers with him to Mexico City and he chooses Tato. Beto begrudgingly stays behind, tending to his wife and family, while Tato endures the brutal hazing practices of the soccer team. Eventually Beto does join his brother in the city and both become famous soccer players known by their nicknames Rudo and Cursi (roughly translated as tough and corny).

The movie has many comedic moments that work well. For example, García Bernal's character is more interested in a singing career than soccer, and the video he shoots for his cover of "I Want You to Want Me" is completely awesome. But when Diego's character gets to the city and grapples with a gambling problem, the brothers' relationship is tested, and the movie starts to drag. This disturbing undertone to the film doesn't quite jibe with the tongue-in-cheek satirical tone of the first half of the movie.

It's clear Cuarón has something to say about fate and love and even consumer culture, but his movie isn't executed quite well enough to figure out what that is. Still, the writing is witty and the tale is told with such vigor that you can't help but get swept away in it all.
