Mar 4 2009 - 9:59am A handful of Hollywood's rising stars got all dressed up to portray American icons over seven decades for the April issue of
Glamour. Emma Roberts looks cute as a button doing her best Audrey Hepburn, while America Ferrera goes more political as Dolores Huerta. Lindsay Lohan is an unmistakable Madonna during her "Like a Virgin" MTV VMA performance.

All of those were great! I loved the one of Brandi Chastain....I can still remember the uproar over her taking off her shirt!!
I don't understand Emma Robert's stance. Audrey Hepburn would have never splayed her legs like that for a photograph.
dm8bri... You don't know what you're talking about. Emma Roberts picture is based on a famous picture of Audrey Hepburn in Paris carrying balloons. I believe it was promotional pictures for Funny Face. Anyways, Audrey Hepburn was a dancer and dancers have often "splayed" their legs that way. So this picture is pretty accurate actually.
I love these pics. Alicia Keys looks great, not to sure why they have to use the President's daughters as (sort of) accessories for this picture.
But I'm not buying Alexis Bledel as Rosie the Riveter.
Lilo's arm (or what's left of it) is disturbing.
here is a link to audrey's original picture.......standing almost identicle to emma roberts

I think this is a great photo series - it would be cool to have this on my wall reminding me to be the best that I can be as all these great ladies have been before me.
I really enjoyed those photos, but I didn't recognize many of the "actresses" portraying these icons.
It's a well done photoshoot, However, If it's suppose to be "a handful of Hollywood's rising stars", what is washed up Lohan doing there?
i love those images - each year when we see them like this or the disney ones, i'm always in awe and really inspired.
i love celebs playing icons from another category
How is Lindsay Lohan still relevant? Such a loser.
I love these photos. Alexis and Hayden look great.
Great photos, but like others mentioned, what is Lohan doing with these girls?
*sigh* America as Huerta! Love it! Huerta's one of my favorite women in history. I knew of her before most of these other women because my dad was involved in the UFW movement and made sure I knew about her, being his only daughter...
Seriously, if you don't know about her, look her up. She's led an amazingly powerful life and is an incredible speaker. I've had the privilege of hearing her firsthand!
LL need not be in this spread at all
I like the theme of icons over the decades, but who are the two actresses in the street scenes supposed to be? (in front of the taxi, and swinging the purse)
I'm wondering why Paula Patton and Chanel Iman's pics were left out of this post
I like Alexis and Alicia's pictures... would it be possible to have get the actresses' names, ex. who they're supposed to be and who is portraying the woman, because I don't get 1 or 2 of them.
Did anyone else notice you can subscribe to Glamour for $1.50 for the year?!?!?!
I don't know why Lindsay is in there or who some of the people are (the hippie scene) or who they are portraying (Camilla Belle as ???). Some of the pictures are lovely though, I like the Audrey Hepburn one with Emma Roberts, Rosie the Riveter with Alexis Bledel, and the Brandi Chastain one with Elisha Cuthbert.
Camille Belle in the street is supposed to be Mary Tyler Moore. Rumor Willis is in the hippie/Woodstock scene. Click on the link to the Glamour article/series above to get all the info
I really like America's. The colors are beautiful.
I also love these (and the Disney ones) and always love looking at them...but my least fave is definitely Carrie Bradshaw--I don't know who the girl is and it could have been so much better! Overall they are so great though!
Love their shots here!
$1.50 for 12 magazines??? Sign me up!!
this was really well done...all the girls looked great IMO....even lindsey...
My favourite is the Brandi Chastain one- she's a hero of mine
I don't know if Audrey Hepburn could be considered America. She was born in Belguim, raised in the Netherlands, spent most of her life in other parts of Europe and died in Switzerland...
Alicia Keys as Michelle Obama? Hell no!
Cool, I guess.
