Mad Men Season 5 Will Include a Time Jump, Big Surprises, and More

Mad Men will finally return on March 25 after 17 months of hiatus, but the cast and crew of the AMC series have been incredibly tight-lipped about what's to come for Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. That is, until now. In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, we finally get some details about what we can expect from Don's engagement, Joan's pregnancy, and the rest of the cast. Here are more details about Mad Men's fifth season:

Elisabeth Moss on season five: "I was completely, completely surprised by season five. For a few of the characters that have big things happen to them this year - big surprises and changes - the audience is going to look back and go, 'He said that in episode one! Or they hinted at that in episode three!' It's a brilliant writing season."
Jon Hamm on what's in store: "This season is about getting everything back on track. The company is where we left it. It's in a bit of disarray. We get to see more of everybody doing their job. Peggy, Pete, Roger, Lane, Harry, Ken - everybody's reinvigorated."
John Slattery on how Mad Men has evolved: "It's funnier. It's sadder. It's just amazing. Maybe it's because you know these people a little better than you did before. But not as well as you think."
Creator Matthew Weiner on the time jump between seasons: "I want people to feel like they're going to visit their best friend, and they open the door and everything's been going on without them. The story is on page 30 when they open the door, so they'll have to catch up."

George Clooney Talks Competing Against Brad Pitt and Oscar Chances Alongside Viola Davis

George Clooney and Viola Davis went black tie for the cover of Entertainment Weekly's latest issue. The actors are getting recognition for their respective roles in The Descendants and The Help, which could also mean Oscar nominations are in their future. George and Viola, who have worked together on films like Out of Sight, Solaris, and Syriana, sat down with the publication to talk about their Oscar chances, friendship, and their award season competition. Here's more from George Clooney and Viola Davis in Entertainment Weekly:

George on possibly being nominated alongside Brad Pitt: "Brad is my pal, and we're a long way from that discussion anyway. But I'd like living in a world where Brad Pitt has an Academy Award. I watched Moneyball and I couldn't do what Brad does."
Viola on possibly being nominated alongside Meryl Streep: "Can you wrap your mind around someone throwing you into the ring with Meryl Streep? You are in a fight with a 500-pound gorilla. I mean, you just throw up your hands."
George on Viola honeymooning at his Lake Como Villa: "I had just bought the place. And she was getting married, which I tried to talk her out of. [Laughs] But that didn't work out, so she had her honeymoon at my place."

Robert and Kristen Pose Sexy and Talk "Loving" the Breaking Dawn Birth Scene in EW

The big three from Breaking Dawn posed together for their latest sexy EW cover, which is out just in time for the movie's Friday release. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner are currently in the homestretch promoting Breaking Dawn Part 1, including at yesterday's UK premiere and during a group interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which airs on tomorrow's show. The trio talked to EW about the highly anticipated honeymoon sex and Bella's birth scenes, both of which were apparently more graphic before they were edited down to ensure the film's PG-13 rating. We also debuted exclusive behind the scenes pictures of pregnant Bella, but nothing compares to seeing it on the big screen, even if it's a toned down version. Here are highlights from the magazine:

On the sex scene:
Robert: "There’s a version where it was really intense"
Kristen: "Cinematically, cut all together, it’s awesome. But we didn’t really do that scene."
Robert: "And when we did, they kept telling us to stop."

On the birth scene:
Kristen: "That’s what I’m really disappointed about - and I’ve talked about it with Bill. It was more sympathetic or something when I played the scene with less energy, and it made it easier for him to tell the story. But in the book, Bella is screaming, ‘NOOOOO!’ [Stewart stands and demonstrates.] And I did it like that - crazy and Exorcist-like. I was going for this weird mix of turning into the most feral mother you can imagine and also fighting for my own life. I mean, I was a nutcase. I was an absolute nutcase."
Taylor: "I do still love the birth scene. I know it’s frustrating that some things aren’t in there."
Kristen: "Yeah. I still love it too."

Star Wars Stands Up to Cancer With New T-Shirts

Fresh off announcing a charity eBay auction, Star Wars is again partnering with Stand Up to Cancer with the release of Star Wars t-shirts ($25) and calling fans to "use The Force for good."

Hollywood stars Emma Stone, Bill Hader, and Ken Jeong showed off their geeky side in the tees to raise awareness, as all proceeds will benefit cancer research. A Star Wars tribute video, featuring the actors along with Zach Galifianakis, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Samuel L. Jackson, and others is set for release tomorrow in promotion of the Stand Up to Cancer cause.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Hug It Out, Talk Twilight Sex Scene For EW

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson cover the new EW this week! The duo, who star in the upcoming first installment of Breaking Dawn, spoke about how weird it was to have the Twilight series finally come to a close. Both Kristen and Robert touched on their respective characters, Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, as well as the postmarital sex scene they'll soon bring to the big screen. Robert also had some frank words for the conduct of Edward throughout the series. They said:

Kristen on the end of Twilight: "It’s just so strange, I can’t get over it."
Kristen on the wedding scenes: "It’s a trip to watch the wedding scenes especially. It was so volatile and emotional - I was being such a crazy person."
Robert on how Edward rips apart a pillow in a passionate moment: "I wanted to have it as a line so much, 'I bit through all the pillows. Every. Single. One.' And then [Edward would] start crying. By the way, that’s what he should be ashamed of in the morning. All those beautiful pillows! Egyptian cotton! 'I ruined this bed!'"
Robert on how Edward and Bella discover her pregnancy: "They shock each other. For a saga which is about eternal, undying love that nothing can touch, suddenly . . .
Kristen interjects: "There’s one thing that can. That was fun to play. Bella’s always liked him and liked everything he said and thought; everything he did was right. This is something that she clearly disagrees with. She doesn’t mindlessly and blindly follow him. She was always kind of defiant. I like that."
Robert frankly assessing Edward's character: "Look, there are a lot of moments when Edward sort of acts like a p*ssy. I mean, throughout the whole series."

Andrew Garfield Is Suited Up on EW and Ready For His Spidey Debut

Andrew Garfield is in full Spider-Man mode for this week's cover of Entertainment Weekly. Though the movie doesn't hit theaters until next Summer, the actor is getting set to start promoting The Amazing Spider-Man, starting with a panel at Comic-Con next week. In the issue, Garfield opens up about about putting his own spin on Spidey, while we get to see the first official stills from the movie featuring Garfield and his onscreen love interest, Emma Stone. Here are highlights:

Garfield on relating to Peter Parker: "I always felt stronger inside than I looked on the outside, which got me into trouble. I related to Peter Parker so much because I felt like someone else inside. I loved the comic books and the animated TV series, and I even dressed up as Spider-Man as a kid. My brother was Superman."
Garfield on watching Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man: "That rekindled everything. I bought a pirated copy on Portobello Road and watched it over and over with my buddy Terry. The action sequences were so expansive and breathtaking, with Tobey swinging through the air. It just floored me!"
Garfield on filling Maguire's shoes: "Tobey did an amazing job. This isn’t a replacement. I want to be clear about that. It’s another chapter."

The Hangover Boys Monkey Around For EW

We're just a couple weeks away from The Hangover Part II, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2009 comedy that made Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, and Zach Galifiankis household names. There's a lot riding on the second part of their story, and the guys sat down with Entertainment Weekly with director Todd Phillipps to talk about the perils of shooting in Thailand and why they'll always keep coming back for more Hangovers.

Galifianakis on the script: "I remember thumbing through it, going, 'Oh God. Oh God.'"
Cooper on filming in Bangkok: "It was the hardest shoot I’ve ever done for sure. Nothing ever even came close to it. I thought A-Team was brutal: I got injured and it was f*cking ing six months of . . . not even close! One criticism you could never make about this movie is that we just phoned it in. Even if it fails miserably, it’s not for lack of trying."
On making the sequel out of love for each other:
BC: "There’s no other reason. If anything, why would you do it? There’s more downside than upside."
Phillips: "You can’t beat what you’ve done. You can only lose in this position. But we just love hanging out with each other."
Helms: [Laughs] "We’re going to be ramming Hangovers down America’s throat for the next three decades."

First Look at Edward, Bella, and Jacob in Breaking Dawn!

Entertainment Weekly got the first official look at Breaking Dawn with two steamy covers - one features Jacob's smoldering gaze and the other Edward and Bella in a tender moment. Filming on the final two Twilight saga installments just finished in Vancouver this week, and Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart took care of reshoots in the Caribbean last weekend. The two were spotted working on Edward and Bella honeymoon scenes on the beach and in the water. Kristen Stewart spoke to EW about the pivotal Breaking Dawn wedding and more:

On the wedding: "It was one of the coolest things that I’ve done. There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit. And it was just so perfect for me in that moment. It was so emotional in such a real way. I literally felt like thanking them for coming."
On the sex scene: "It feels like a real love scene, not necessarily vampirey, which is good."
On the birth scene: "It’s funny because when [the PG-13 issue] comes up, everybody thinks it’s all about the sex. The birth is really effective, and I’ve heard it really hits you in the face. But what it could have been? It could have been shocking and grotesque, because that’s how it was written in the book. I would have loved to have been puking up blood."
Taylor on the difficulties of being a werewolf: "Everybody is always complaining to me that I don’t have to wear the contacts, I don’t have to wear the white makeup or wear wigs and all that stuff. And I’m like, 'I’m the one in the freezing rain and cold not wearing a shirt! I paid my dues in New Moon and Eclipse.'"
Taylor on imprinting: "There were many times I walked up to Stephenie [Meyer] and asked her, 'What exactly is imprinting?' It’s still a very confusing thing for me, so don’t ask."

Robert Pattinson Tells EW About His "Obscenely Boring Life," Risqué Breaking Dawn, and Working With Reese Witherspoon

Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon showed off their great chemistry on the cover of the new Entertainment Weekly, and inside the magazine they chat all about their upcoming movie Water For Elephants. He kicked off promotion for the film with an appearance on The Tonight Show last week, though Reese will probably take a break from the work to focus on her rumored wedding this Saturday. Both stars managed to find time to speak with the publication, though, with Rob discussing what he'll do once the racy final installment of Twilight is released, a role he'd love to play, and the joys of working with Reese - and the feeling was apparently mutual. They said:

On what he'll do after Twilight ends in 2012: "It's funny how it's ending in 2012. This is how the world will end. But, um, I don't know. I think most of people's recognition is based on the magazines and stuff. All the gossip stories won't work - they're always combined with Twilight, so once that's done and it can't be combined with the promotion of the film, I think it will end. Because I have an obscenely boring life."
On raciness in Breaking Dawn: "There's some interesting and weird stuff going on - really very, very, very strange. It's great. For a big mainstream movie, it’s the most obscure story line and really outside the box. It's a horror movie. I've seen a few bits, and I just can't see how it's going to be PG-13 . . . unless they cut everything out."
On a role Rob would love: "I'd love to play a big fat person."
On working with Reese: "There's something about her. She's just this genuinely nice person. I don't know if she puts an effort into creating a nice aura, but her mood dissipates over the whole set. It was a completely different environment from when she wasn't there. All the kids and the animals were just drawn to her. It made it incredibly easy to do my part - all my reaction shots are just watching her work brilliantly. She's really cool and she's just . . . never, ever annoying. God, that's the worst description, isn't it?"
Reese on Rob's work ethic: "He's an incredibly hardworking person with an incredible work ethic. He doesn't ever complain. Not once. Which is sort of lower than the national average for actors. They're always complaining. Especially the men!"
