Eva Mendes Visits Ryan Gosling on Set in Thailand

Ryan Gosling has been in Thailand for the past few weeks working on Only God Forgives, and his girlfriend, Eva Mendes, flew over this week for a visit. He was spotted continuing his martial arts training at a gym on Monday, and Eva ventured out solo to get a snack yesterday. Eva has been in LA focusing on her own movie-making during the last month, but made time to keep an eye on Ryan's beloved dog George. Ryan's project sees him pairing up yet again with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn. Their shooting schedule means Ryan's been missing out on award season back in LA. Ryan was up for numerous awards for his acting in both Drive and George Clooney's The Ides of March, but he unfortunately missed out on nabbing a coveted nod from the Academy.

Ryan and Eva met last Summer on the set for another film, The Place Beyond the Pines. In the March issue of Marie Claire, Eva spoke for the first time about shooting alongside Ryan. She said, "He’s your dream costar. I have never felt so creatively satisfied on a film."

The actress has been busy with multiple projects, including Girl in Progress, which hits theaters in April, and Holly Motors, though much of her headline making is due to boyfriend Ryan Gosling. The duo worked together on The Place Beyond the Pines last year and have been spotted sharing romantic dates in Paris, Disneyland, and around LA since. Eva touched on working with Ryan, her own insecurities, and how she gets her glowing skin. Here's more from Eva Mendes in Marie Claire:

On working with Ryan Gosling: "He’s your dream costar. I have never felt so creatively satisfied on a film."
On her diet and workout routine: "I run four to five times a week, mixing it up among distance running, intervals on a track, and running uphill on a treadmill. I don't eat meat and stopped eating chicken - my skin has gotten a lot better."
On her body image: "What I tell girls is what they don’t like about themselves now, they will probably end up loving as an adult, because that’s what happened to me. When I am complimented on things that I didn’t like when I was 13, like my overbite and my mole, that’s when you realize that your imperfections are why people love you."

Eva Mendes brought a special companion - Ryan Gosling's dog George! - to her Beverly Hills offices Saturday. It looks like she's taking care of the pup while her boyfriend Ryan is in Thailand filming Only God Forgives. He made the overseas trip earlier this month, which meant he missed multiple award show appearances. Ryan wasn't on hand for the People's Choice Awards, Critics' Choice Awards, or the Golden Globes, where he was nominated, but there were plenty of other hot men on the red carpets to make up for his absence. The Drive star's award season run is almost over since he's not up for any honors at this weekend's SAGs, and he wasn't included in this morning's 2012 Oscar nominations announcement, but he does still have a chance at next month's Independent Spirit Awards.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes snuck in some late-night time on the location of Ryan's new project in LA yesterday. Ryan's apparently directing something, and the set included a large horse as a prop. He got behind the camera for the shoot after spending the last few days working on his fitness with regular mixed martial arts classes. Ryan's been emerging sweaty and barefoot from the boxing sessions, which he kicked off just last month. He missed a few workouts, though, when he traveled to NYC to celebrate New Year's Eve with Eva.

The couple are going strong into 2012 after they began dating late last year. They cozied up while filming The Place Beyond the Pines in the Summer, and they should be side by side to promote the movie ahead of its release later this year.
