The couple are together in the US after Ryan spent a few months in Thailand earlier this year shooting Only God Forgives with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn. This weekend, though, it's Eva's turn to focus on film. She has Girl in Progress finally hitting theaters. The Girl in Progress reviews are not universally positive, but The New York Times praised Eva's performance, writing that she "seems so confident, so comfortable in her beauty, that it can be easy to underestimate her emotional range and her comic instincts." Eva will have another movie debuting later this month at Cannes. Her Holy Rollers is among the many movies debuting at the French film festival.

Ryan Gosling headed off for another afternoon on the Bangkok set of Only God Forgives yesterday. His girlfriend, Eva Mendes, journeyed to Thailand to visit with him for a bit. She was seen venturing out solo a few weeks ago to sample street food, and yesterday while Ryan was working, she went to a hair salon for a blowout. Production on the Nicolas Winding Refn film has meant that Ryan missed out on award season back home in LA. He received numerous nominations for his performances in both Drive and The Ides of March. Ryan's not up for an honor at the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony - make sure to fill out our Oscars ballot and enter to win an iPad with a Prada case! Ryan's films are up for nonacting statues, though. Drive's in the running for best achievement in sound editing, and The Ides of March could win best adapted screenplay.

Ryan Gosling has been in Thailand for the past few weeks working on Only God Forgives, and his girlfriend, Eva Mendes, flew over this week for a visit. He was spotted continuing his martial arts training at a gym on Monday, and Eva ventured out solo to get a snack yesterday. Eva has been in LA focusing on her own movie-making during the last month, but made time to keep an eye on Ryan's beloved dog George. Ryan's project sees him pairing up yet again with his Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn. Their shooting schedule means Ryan's been missing out on award season back in LA. Ryan was up for numerous awards for his acting in both Drive and George Clooney's The Ides of March, but he unfortunately missed out on nabbing a coveted nod from the Academy.

Ryan and Eva met last Summer on the set for another film, The Place Beyond the Pines. In the March issue of Marie Claire, Eva spoke for the first time about shooting alongside Ryan. She said, "He’s your dream costar. I have never felt so creatively satisfied on a film."
