HBO Toasts Its Big Winners With Michael Fassbender and More

The stars and friends of HBO gathered in a ballroom at the Beverly Hilton for a Golden Globes afterparty yesterday! The network had a great deal to celebrate, especially Laura Dern's upset in the best actress in a comedy series category for Enlightened. She took home the statue over perennial favorites like 30 Rock's Tina Fey and Parks and Recreation's Amy Poehler. Laura let loose at the bash with husband Ben Harper, apparently after reconciling despite announcing plans to divorce in 2010. Best supporting actor in a series Peter Dinklage, from Game of Thrones, was also raising a glass!

Best actor nominee Michael Fassbender stopped by HBO's event as well. The Shame star lost out to The Descendants's George Clooney, but Michael still got acknowledged in Clooney's speech - George made a somewhat off-color reference to Michael's full frontal exposure in Shame! Michael didn't seem to mind the shout-out, and he made the rounds with best actor in a comedy nominee, and fellow Irishman, Brendan Gleeson from The Guard. True Blood hottie Joe Manganiello swung by, too, as did newlywed Eva Amurri Martino with Tim Robbins.

Evan Rachel Wood struck a chord earlier in the evening with an emerald Old Hollywood-style Gucci Premiere gown, but for the afterparty scene, the Ides of March actress went for menswear-inspired perfection. Evan Rachel wore a black tuxedo jacket paired with slim black pants; underneath, she opted for a shimmery bronzed asymmetrical top. Her gold boxy clutch, gold rings, grayish purple-tinted nails, and black peep-toe pumps rounded out her sleek look. What do you think?

Golden Globes Trend: Mad For Mauve

Back in the late '80s and early '90s, the word mauve conjured up a dusty rose shade that was more drab than fab. But these days, mauve has gotten a whole lot brighter, richer, and wearable, and the women of the 2012 Golden Globes red carpet know it. A pretty mix of pink with a tinge of purple, the color stands out in a sea of expected red lipsticks and pale pink glosses. Take, for instance, Evan Rachel Wood, who paired her hot hue with a golden shadow. And then there's Viola Davis, who went for a classic look with a dramatic, darkly lined eye, and Sofia Vergara, who spiced things up with a bronzed shadow and flirty lashes. So dust off that theory that mauve can't work. It's actually a shade that's as versatile as it is flattering.

Evan Rachel Wood has always loved Old Hollywood glamour, so it's not surprising to see her bringing the vintage drama in a Gucci Premiere dress that appears to be composed entirely of chiffon, sequins, and feathers. When you're wearing a peacock (with a "tail" train to match), it's wise to keep your makeup and hair conservative, and Evan Rachel's gone with soft pink lipstick and elegantly backswept hair. The Ladies Go Long, Short, and Sexy at the Critics' Choice Awards

The Critics' Choice Awards brought a fun mix of color and drama to the carpet in LA tonight. Emma Stone, who joined her The Help costars in accepting the best ensemble cast award, continued her green streak with a printed Jason Wu gown while nominee Elizabeth Olsen also went bright in yellow Pucci. Presenter Diane Kruger mixed things up in Prada, and Busy Philipps was back in front of the cameras in hot pink after also attending yesterday's People's Choice Awards. Best actress winner Viola Davis wowed in a glamorous red look from Raoul.

There was a fair share of black on the gray carpet including Kirsten Dunst's short, flirty Dior and Charlize Theron's ruffled Azzedine Alaïa. Evan Rachel Wood, who was nominated for best acting ensemble in The Ides of March, chose a strapless Valentino while The Help's Octavia Spencer went with a black LBD and strappy heels. Melissa McCarthy took the stage in a navy sequined number when she and the Bridesmaids cast won for best comedy.

Bright neutrals made an appearance this evening as well with best actress nominee Michelle Williams hitting the carpet in a Chanel gown and presenter Mindy Kaling donning a simple asymmetrical dress. Stacy Keibler arrived on the arm of boyfriend George Clooney in a dramatic white Giorgio Armani gown and Marchesa clutch. Rounding out all the lovely looks was The Descendants's Shailene Woodley in a slinky silver Calvin Klein. George Clooney and Evan Rachel Wood posed together at the London premiere of The Ides of March today. George's girlfriend Stacy Keibler didn't join him for the event, but she was his red carpet companion earlier this week. George and Stacy showed up at a NYC screening of The Descendants on Sunday and she was by his side again for last night's Paris premiere of The Ides of March. George and Stacy continued their evening at the film's afterparty, and later enjoyed dinner at L'Arc with George's costar Philip Seymour Hoffman as well as Catherine Deneuve and Princess Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco. George and Stacy's time in the City of Lights didn't last long since George popped up in the UK for a photocall this morning.

George Clooney popped up in London today for a photo call and Q&A session for his project The Ides of March. He, along with his stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Evan Rachel Wood, were in the UK to participate in the BFI London Film Festival, which will also show George's The Descendants this week.

George was able to hop over to England after being in Paris just last night for an Ides premiere. George brought girlfriend Stacy Keibler as a date to the red carpet event, a mere few days after she accompanied him to the NYC debut of The Descendants Sunday. George has been doing double promotional duty for both movies recently. He was nonetheless able to fit in a Cabo getaway with Stacy earlier this month so she could celebrate her 32nd birthday in his favorite place. Stacy's still able to get her own work done despite all the jet-setting. Stacy loves to exercise with AquaBells when she's on the go, and she's turned that passion into a business by teaming up with OpenSky to sell them online.
