Pete and Rihanna Get the Super Bowl Crowds Warmed Up

The biggest football party of the year is still a few days away, but the fun in Tampa started last night at the NFL Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Concert. Rihanna brought down the house in a typical black leather outfit, perhaps a little warm up for next weekend's Grammy performance. Rebecca Romijn must be excited to see her man Jerry scoring some swag for their twins, though she seems to be managing just fine with her hot post-babies body while he's away. Pete Wentz rocked out with Fall Out Boy, but also took the opportunity to talk to Extra about the backlash surrounding Jessica Simpson's curves. He said, "I think that the media puts too harsh of a spotlight on women in general and I think it’s a bummer. It’s bad for young women. I see it affecting young girls who come to our shows and that’s a bummer. Real beauty is on the inside, man." Sounds like Pete agrees with his wife - and most of you - on this one.

Ashlee Was Born to Lead Pete Back to Health

Ashlee Simpson went layered winter chic last night at the 2007 CosmoGirl Born to Lead Awards in NYC. Pete was there to support his December cover girl and even brought the rest of his band along for the party. The night before, Ashlee was by his side for his Angels and Kings Karaoke party, where he talked about how she's been helping him with his broken foot. He said, "When I'm being hard-headed and I don't want to elevate it, she says, 'No, put it on the pillow!' When I try to get in the shower by myself and am going to end up falling on the hotel room floor, she's good at stopping me." These two have come a long way in their relationship, we just hope he's as nice to her as she seems to be for him.

During The VMA Party Was The Hotel Room Party

The performances at last night's VMAs were certainly inconsistent. The show kicked off with Britney's lackluster (Scared? Self-conscious? Nonchalant? I can't decide - check it out here) performance and then seemed like it wasn't going to pick up. While I appreciate the nonstop party idea they were going for with all the party suites, I missed all the big performances. That being said Rihanna/Chris Brown, Alicia Keys and Justin/Nelly Furtado/Timbaland were pretty awesome. Seriously, little Mr. Brown has some MOVES! Dayum. The rest of the performances seemed odd, being in hotel rooms and all. Or maybe I was just jealous I wasn't right there as Kanye sang Stronger. What did you think? Highlights? Lowlights?

Last night in London some musically inclined celebs came out for the Kerrang! Awards at The Brewery. Jared Leto looked kinda like an idiot, but at the same time less so than he sometimes does. Sooo, I guess that's a good thing? Meanwhile Pete Wentz, whose band walked away with the award for best video, arrived with Ashlee, but promptly ditched her for another red carpet mate -- one that sits on his shoulder and wears a leash (two things Ash won't do). As a side note -- when was the last time we saw Ashlee without a hat? June? I'm beginning to worry there's something terrible going on with her hair. Let it breathe!

Pete Keeps His Eyes on His Family More Than FOB

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson flew from LAX to JFK last night. Over the weekend they got to spend their first Father's Day with Bronx, though Pete also found some time to cause confusion on the Internet. He created a temporary Twitter account to field questions from Fall Out Boy fans where he was hinting that the band might be splitting up soon. He later clarified that he just meant they are not working on a new album at the moment, but if he does choose to take a break after the Summer tour he can always be a stay at home dad while Ashlee is hard at work on Melrose Place.

Bronx Is Already Rocking Out to Fall Out Boy

Ashlee Simpson brought baby Bronx out to watch his dad perform on stage with Fall Out Boy on Friday night in Mesa, AZ. She had a huge smile on her face while keeping her son's ears protected with cute oversized headphones. Pete was back on stage in Laguna Hills on Saturday, while Ashlee returned to LA and tweeted how much she missed him. At least she has Pete's rock star mini me to put a smile on her face and ward off rumors of unhappiness from the new mom.

Ashlee and Pete Show Bronx the Shopping Ropes

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz took Bronx for a shopping trip in LA on Saturday, while on Sunday Ashlee was all business on her way into a photo shoot. The trio was back together in California after a month of travels, including a short Fall Out Boy tour and Ashlee's poolside birthday in Vegas. Pete is already off again, as he'll be moderating a panel on video games and music in NYC tonight. Pete and Ashlee have packed schedules, but he is also looking towards the future and expanding their family in a major way when they find time to make it work.

Ashlee Temporarily Trades Melrose Place For the Tour Bus

Bronx Wentz grabbed a few straws yesterday during a visit to a Starbucks in LA with Ashlee Simpson. She picked up a coffee, which seems like a necessary accessory for the busy working mom. The CW ordered six more episodes of Melrose Place, but the lackluster ratings might be a little worrisome, especially since the network showed no mercy canceling The Beautiful Life after two weeks. The return of Heather Locklear should supposedly liven things up and Ashlee's character is certainly doing her part to keep things scandalous. First up, though, will be a short stint with Fall Out Boy - her husband Pete just Twittered his excitement about Ashlee and Bronx's joining him on the road tomorrow.
