Trend Alert: Matte Waves

We saw slick (and in some cases, practically wet) looks on the Spring 2012 runways at shows such as Bottega Veneta, Ports 1961, and Alberta Ferretti. But certain celebrities have eschewed the trend altogether, hitting the red carpet sporting minimally shiny coiffures instead. Blond-haired beauties Nicole Richie, LeAnn Rimes, and Fergie, for instance, have all been spotted with matte, wavy textures. But what makes the roughed-up style so great is that as long as the hair is well-nourished and properly hydrated, your strands can still be molded into sleek and shiny looks, too. In essence: matte hair doesn't necessarily mean damaged. So go ahead and rough it a bit this year by applying a mattifying product to dry hair. A little teasing never hurts, either.

Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michele got their flirt on last night at the LA premiere of New Year's Eve. She brought along her best friend Jonathan Groff as her date, but later even thanked Ashton on Twitter. Lea wrote to Ashton, "It was such an honor working with you. I cannot thank you enough."

Joining Ashton and a Valentino-clad Lea on the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre were their other costars, including Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Abigail Breslin. Hilary Swank, meanwhile, posed in a sequined Elie Saab gown. Katherine Heigl threw an arm around husband Josh Kelley, and Josh Duhamel accompanied wife Fergie. Sofia Vergara posed solo and looked amazing in a LBD. The cast moved on to an afterparty held at Hollywood and Highland, where Sofia tweeted that Ludacris joined in on the fun.

Ashley Greene Gets Philanthropic With Fergie Pre-Breaking Dawn

A glammed up Ashley Greene and Fergie posed for photos as they made their way to last night's Avon Foundation Awards Gala in NYC. Fergie hosted the evening and Ashley also took the podium to speak on behalf of the pro-female causes spotlighted during the celebration. Ashley is a spokesmodel for mark., Avon's line of products, and is currently teaming with the brand on their campaign to end partner violence among young couples.

Ashley's stay in the Big Apple is coming to a quick close, however, since she'll be back home on the West Coast by tomorrow to rejoin her Breaking Dawn costars. This morning, we were live from Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner's hand and footprint ceremony at the famous Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, and tomorrow, we'll sit down to chat with Ashley and her cast mates during the Breaking Dawn press day. The little girls of Toddlers & Tiaras never cease to fascinate and disturb us, whether they are dressed as a Pretty Woman stripper, wearing boob pads to be Dolly Parton, or retiring from their beauty pageant career at the tender age of six. And we aren't the only ones who find them entertaining (and as Ashley Tisdale shows us, hilarious).

In a twist of irony, several famous adult women dressed as the Toddlers & Tiaras girls - who are really made up to look like miniature adult women - this Halloween. But who nailed the look the best? I think Chrissy Teigen has the pose perfected the best, but Kelly Ripa's over-the-top costume is pretty spot-on. And Fergie had the best accessories with a trophy, banner, and teddy bear. What do you think?

Heidi Klum played Halloween hostess yet again last night with her bash at the Ph-D Rooftop Lounge at NYC's Dream Downtown Hotel. She was just in Las Vegas for the Nevada version of her annual holiday soirée and, for that occasion, was covered in body paint and minimal fabric as "the visible woman." However, yesterday's event required more covering up - and fur! Heidi and her husband Seal were dressed as monkeys, and she tweeted that they were "mad happy!" The evening of socializing came after a nonstop day for notorious Halloween fan Heidi, who swung by Live With Regis and Kelly as well as Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to record special appearances. Many other celebs turned out for Heidi's event, including models Chrissy Teigen and Doutzen Kroes as well as a Toddlers and Tiaras-clad Fergie.

Many stars came out to celebrate President Clinton's 65th birthday last night at The Clinton Foundation's Decade of Difference Gala at LA's Hollywood Palladium. Sticking with a blue and white theme, Jessica Alba stepped out in a sheer blouse paired with a navy skirt while Rachel Zoe wowed in a gown. Modern Family's Sofia Vergara chose a sexy, strapless LBD that complemented her fit figure. It was another date night for Jessica and her husband, Cash Warren, who dined at a table with friends Joel and Benji Madden. Rachel was also joined by her husband, Rodger Berman, but this time they left their well-dressed son, Skyler, at home. The dinner kicked off a weekend full of celebration honoring the former president's philanthropic organization. The events continue tonight with the Decade of Difference concert streaming live around the globe with performances from Usher, Lady Gaga, Kenny Chesney, Juanes and K’Naan, The Edge, and Bono.
