Fran Drescher Says Gay Ex-Husband Is Her Soulmate

Fran Drescher spoke with the ladies on The View today about her relationship with her gay ex-husband, and how she turned what many women would consider a horror story into her new sitcom, Happily Divorced. Fran seems surprisingly OK with her ex coming out, even calling him her "soul mate" and "best friend." She may have taken it so well because of the timing: he waited until years later, after her battle with cancer and when she was already in love with someone else. Watch her dish on her unconventional relationship with her ex now.

Gisele Bundchen wore Oscar de la Renta on the red carpet at the AFI Life Achievement Award honoring Morgan Freeman held last night at LA's Sony Pictures Studios. The supermodel said hello to the man himself, hugging Morgan and the Brazilian TV presenter Hebe Camargo. Gisele also caught up with Morgan's daughter Alexia before moving inside to mingle with other celeb guests like Clint Eastwood, Matthew Broderick, Matthew McConaughey, Casey Affleck, Betty White, and Helen Mirren. Morgan's Amistad costar Matthew McConaughey rocked a new look with his handlebar mustache, though his girlfriend, Camila Alves, didn't seem to mind the new facial fuzz. Morgan said a few words about his career and humbly acknowledged one special role in Bruce Almighty. Morgan Freeman said of his AFI honor, "I should be ashamed to say that sooner or later, I knew that someone was going to call on me to play God. I just had to be sure that when I said OK, that it was a comedy."

Happily Divorced Fran Drescher Working on TV Pilot With Gay Ex-Husband

Fran Drescher and her ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, are happily divorced, so much so they're working together on a TV show by the same name. The former couple co-created The Nanny, and Fran will also star in their new project, this time based loosely on her life.

Happily Divorced is about a woman who tries to start her life again once she finds out her husband is gay. After 21 years of marriage, high school sweethearts Fran and Peter divorced in 1999, and Peter later came out as gay. Despite that, they managed to stay friends and campaign for gay rights together, and Fran even sets up her ex with eligible bachelors. All that sounds like great sitcom fodder.

Considering the success of Modern Family, which suggests unconventional family dynamics are the new normal, this 21st-century take on divorce sounds like a promising hit. Expect to catch it on TV Land, the network planning to pick it up.

Today held another round of runway shows at New York Fashion Week as the stars tirelessly head out to Bryant Park to see the latest fashions. Rachel Bilson supported her good friend Brian Reyes and his Spring collection. Kirsten Dunst laughed in the front row of the Rodarte show which displayed Native American looks. Kristin Cavallari showed off her sexy black dress with a cutout back at the Walter presentation as many other celebrities like Nicky Hilton, Amanda Bynes and of course Anna Wintour checked out the scene.

Biel, Alba, and Connelly Work Out For Charity

Jessicas Alba and Biel joined Jennifer Connelly, who are all faces of Revlon, in NYC on Saturday for the brand's Run/Walk For Women, which aims to raise money to research women's cancers. Last year's event brought out Halle Berry, while this year's trio of hostesses was accompanied by Jimmy Fallon. We love seeing celebs out supporting great causes, but we're equally excited to see some of these same ladies trade their workout clothes for ball gowns at tonight's Costume Gala.

Recast The Nanny and Win a Prize!

Every other Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. The reader who submits the best cast wins a BuzzSugar t-shirt!

As the show's official website points out, The Nanny was a matter of "blue collar meets blue blood," with the Queens-bred Franny Fine (Fran Drescher) bringing some of her straightforward, nasally attitude to one lucky Upper East Side family. One might say it's like Gossip Girl meets Ugly Betty - but with Fran Drescher.

If you could recast this '90s sitcom, who could you put in Franny Fine's role? Then there's the wealthy family she joins up with: Maxwell Sheffield and his three kids, Maggie, Brighton, and Grace. Niles the butler played a big enough role to include, as did Maxwell's business partner, C.C. Babcock.

Debra Premieres Starter Wife, With Starter Wife Creator

Debra Messing was out looking nice (other than the dress) to celebrate the premiere of her new mini-series, Starter Wife. Also gracing the red carpet with her presence was Gigi Levangie (Grazer), who wrote the roman a clef, Starter Wife, on which the series is based. She was also on the arm of her maybe/maybe not ex-husband, movie producer Brian Grazer. Soooo, does that mean she wasn't a "starter wife" after all?
