Halle Berry Premieres Frankie & Alice With Mandy and Olivier

Halle Berry arrived in a festive Balmain suit for last night's LA premiere of Frankie & Alice. She screened the film on the East Coast last week as well, but yesterday she had the company of boyfriend Olivier Martinez and Tangled's Mandy Moore. Mandy had a successful weekend at the box office with her animated holiday film, and she recently blogged for the Huffington Post to share her idea of a perfect philanthropic present. Halle's eerie portrayal of a woman dealing with multiple personality disorder in her new movie is garnering serious buzz for 2011's Oscars, which will be hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco. Olivier might stick around to be Halle's award season plus one, while her ex Gabriel Aubry moves on with Kim Kardashian. Gabriel didn't have Kim by his side yesterday, though, when he crashed his Mercedes but emerged from the fender-bender intact.

Halle Berry Has Two Minds About the Frankie and Alice Trailer

The trailer for Frankie and Alice examines the inner psyche of a stripper named Frankie (Halle Berry). Frankie's been having blackouts, waking up in places she doesn't recognize, and generally just acting not like herself. The preview poses questions like whether not she's crazy and what crazy actually means, but Frankie's diagnosis goes far deeper than that - she has multiple personality disorder.

Her alter ego (whom I can only assume to be Alice) is more straitlaced, no-nonsense, and, appears to be white. The preview focuses more on Frankie's interactions with her doctor (Stellan Skarsgard) than on what brought on the added personality (though it's hinted that it had something to do with her mother). Though this first look didn't exactly reach out and grab me, I'm definitely interested in this project to see how Berry tackles playing opposite herself. Halle Berry showed her shoulders in a white Pamella Roland dress yesterday at a screening of Frankie & Alice in NYC. She stars as an actress suffering from multiple personality disorder in her latest project, and the role is already earning her another round of Oscar buzz. Halle was out earlier in the day alongside her hot boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, but Halle kept company in the evening with legendary actress Ruby Dee. Olivier accompanied Halle on the trip east, which also included another fancy night out on the town celebrating Harry Winston.

Halle Berry Exorcises and Spends Time With Nahla

Halle Berry spent another day on the set of Frankie and Alice in Vancouver yesterday before taking baby Nahla back to their hotel. Nahla looked like a little lamb in her fuzzy coat cuddled in mom's arms. It looks like Halle's adding another meaty role to her resume, and she recently talked to Elle magazine about why she often picks emotionally draining films. She said, “When I say yes to a script, it’s because there’s something in that character that I need to exorcise in my life.” She might have a few intense months ahead playing a character with multiple personalities, but coming home to baby Nahla should help melt away the madness.

Halle Dresses Sassy For Frankie and Alice

Halle Berry was hard at work on the set of Frankie and Alice late at night in Vancouver earlier this week. It's certainly not warm enough for that outfit way up north, but Halle looked ready to get into character in her 70s look and curly girly hair. We saw Halle reading up on Multiple Personality Disorder for the role, but we'll have to wait and see if her preparation for filming the movie involved getting hot Gabriel and baby Nahla all suited up with Winter gear for the Vancouver weather.
