We Want to Believe The X-Files Sequel Will Be a Hit
Last night the LA premiere of X-Files reunited David Duchovny (who is looking in need of a haircut) and a pregnant Gillian Anderson. The FBI agents have a new set of costars, including the adorable Amanda Peet who looked beautiful in her fancy feathered dress. Diane Kruger went uncharacteristically casual, but of course pulled it off looking fabulous in jeans and a basic tee.

A very tan Ben Affleck and his brother changed from one set of suit jackets into another for an Esquire dinner party in Casey's honor in London last night. The boys are overseas doing a UK promotional tour of Gone Baby Gone and Ben's protective pose with Casey shows how close these two really are. We have a feeling the boys spend plenty of time goofing around with each other, but in a recent interview, Ben made it clear that it was all business on the set.

After this, though, it's not back to LA for this starlet — she moved to Paris.

Gillian Anderson was looking great with costar (and always a favorite) David Duchovny at some geek convention this weekend in San Francisco. They debuted a teaser trailer for the second X-Files movie, and while it took long enough to get these guys back together, we will patiently wait to see Scully and Mulder reunite. It's a bonus that one of our favorite small screen shows can produce big screen blockbusters, and we're counting down the days until its release on July 25.

The Cannes Film Festival Is Off and Running
The fun times in Cannes kicked off today, and there was no shortage of star power out on the red carpet for the opening premiere of Blindness. Co-stars Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal led the pack, and Eva Longoria and Mischa Barton were just a couple of the lovely ladies who lit up the red carpet in their brightly colored dresses. Natalie Portman looked adorable as always in her little purple number, representing the festival's jury along with Sean Penn.

It looks like traveling with Amanda Peet is a pretty fun time, at least judging by Frances Pen's cutie pie expressions arriving at the Vancouver airport yesterday. After a trip to the UK to attend the BAFTAs (her husband, screenwriter David Benioff was nominated for The Kite Runner), Amanda is back in Canada to finish the X-Files movie. Her co-stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have been promoting the movie without her, but now it's time to get back to work giving those die-hard fans the sequel they've been waiting for.
