Rihanna Waits Her Turn to Be a Woman of the Year

Rihanna is starting to promote her upcoming album, including posing for Glamour's Women of the Year issue. It also coincides with the debut of her new video for "Wait Your Turn" - check it out after the jump. Rihanna has remained silent about the incident with Chris Brown thus far, but she's finally opening up about what happened. She's set to share a little about the ordeal this week on GMA and 20/20. She also discussed the drama, as well as her career and childhood, in the magazine. Here's more:

On her career: "I would have never dreamed that my career would be this successful. I grew up in an average home in Barbados, and we didn’t live in the best neighborhood. But I was never aware that we were poor; my mom never made us feel that way. She made us feel anything was possible and instilled in me such confidence."
On auditioning for Jay-Z: "I thought he would be in a suit, sitting behind a desk with a cigar. But he was totally chill, wearing sneakers and a t-shirt. In a matter of weeks, the first single went to radio. Then we shot a video, and the song just took off. I was in the top 10 with huge artists who I looked up to. Jay-Z kept telling me, 'This never happens, so don’t get used to it.' I saw how special that moment was."

On getting through the past year: "I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears! My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be - no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God."
On her new album: "I put everything I’ve wanted to say for the past eight months into my music. The songs are really personal. It’s rock ‘n’ roll, but it’s really hip-hop: if Lil’ Wayne and Kings of Leon like my album, then I’ll feel good. I would not change anything about it."
On fashion: "Fashion for me is another way I get to express myself creatively. It is one of the fun things I get to do: to play dress-up, and create outfits and looks that aren’t typical. I am an artist, so I like creating things. Shoes are my favorite thing."
On the future: "I hope I find love in the next 10 years - that will be pretty annoying if I am 31 and still have never been in love! But yeah, I’d like to be in a great place in both my personal life and my career."

Britney Gets Glamorous Yet Says She's Boring

Britney Spears looks fresh-faced and golden on the January cover of Glamour magazine, as we get to see the results of her Patrick Demarchelier photo shoot. The singer was back to performing on stage this weekend and as everyone buzzes about whether Britney's back to her old self, the singer talks about her life and how she wants her future to end up. Here's more:

On her come back: "I have 'come back' so many times, people are just like, Is this another one?... It’s kind of like a joke to me now."
On a misconception about her: "I don’t like going out. I hate clubs. I hate being around too many people. I love my home and staying in bed and watching Dancing With the Stars or reading a Danielle Steel novel. I’m kind of boring."
On where she wants to be in 5 or 10 years: "I would love to have a lot of albums under my belt. And a couple of movies….In five years I would like to be married and have a father figure for my kids, someone who is a provider and can be really stable."

It's Britney overload whether you want it or not - between the magazine covers, MTV documentary last night, and GMA birthday appearance tomorrow, lighting of the Rockefeller Center tree on Wednesday and who knows what else is in store for us. Charlize Theron Steps Out in the Summer Sun

Charlize Theron was happily soaking up the sun for a photoshoot in July's Glamour. Just in time for the release of Hancock, she seems carefree and ready for her big Summer blockbuster. In the issue, Charlize gives us the facts on her career, her man, and her rules to live by. Here's more:

On the future: "I don't believe in making five-year plans. I don't want to say, 'Yes, I want to have children in the next five years,' because I don't know. I've always known that I'd like to be a mom, but I don't want to live by a schedule. If I [did], I wouldn't be living in the moment. I try as much as I can to live the life I want [right now]."
On why she's attracted to Stuart Townsend: "He's got beautiful feet and hands. [Laughs.] Here's the thing: The Beatles had it wrong about love. They did! I think if you are in a one- or two-year relationship, love is enough. You can thrive on that. [But] when you hit years three and four, you realize that if you're going to live with somebody and not just live near somebody...you have to be nurtured emotionally and spiritually, and you have to be intrigued. Because if that intrigue runs out, you're not going to want to go home anymore."
On working with good looking men: "I have no problem telling Stu, 'I think Will Smith is hot and I'm really glad I got to work with him.' I'd be an idiot if I said, 'No, [Will's] not that good-looking.' There'd be something wrong with me."

On playing sexy characters: "I've always been comfortable with my sexuality. I'm blessed to have been raised by a woman who never made me feel ashamed about what's underneath my clothes. That's a part of me and I don't run away from it."
On living by her mother's philosophies: "My mother is one of those very unusual, superb human beings--she's innately strong and incredibly smart. She created an environment for me to explore [who I was]. When I was 18 years old and my knees gave out, I was living in a friend's basement in New York City and feeling depressed. She said to me, 'If you're going to wallow in self-pity, you can do that back in South Africa. Now, what do you want to do with yourself?' "

Charlize seems down to earth to us but we're excited to see her get a little out of this world alongside Will Smith as a superhero in Hancock.

Jessica's Back in Her Old Boots

Jessica Simpson's sunshine yellow dress on the cover of Glamour matches right up with her bubbly personality in the interview. She can't help gushing about how much she is enjoying life right now, from her relationship with Tony to her upcoming country album. Plus, as dolled up as she may be for her photoshoots, she also says that she's never felt more natural and down to earth, thanks to her new man. Here are highlights:

On reading the tabloids: "I'm not going to lie and say that I don't want to see Tony and me in the pictures. It is good airplane reading if you throw it away when you get off; I'm good at that. I am not the type of person who believes everything she reads, but I like to look at photos and see what people are wearing. That's interesting to me."
On the first time she saw Tony: "The cute story is that my family and I were watching a Cowboys game. I was going through my divorce and--Tony would die if I told you this--but [on television there was a story] about him. They said his celebrity dream crush was Jessica Simpson."
On how Tony makes her feel: "He's a motivational speaker. Because he's a quarterback, a leader. He keeps his team focused. What he's done for me is irreplaceable. I wrote a song for him called "Back in My Old Boots." I feel like I'm walking back in my old boots. Jessica Simpson didn't lose herself along the way. He reintroduced me to myself. I thought that I had to be deeper, more profound and more artsy. You change with the guys you date. [I thought] I had to be more intellectual. Come on--just be yourself! Tony taught me that because he loves me [as me]. He made me feel comfortable [being myself] again."

Jessica's had her share of relationships with celebrities, but it sounds like she's finally ready to settle down out of the spotlight. We love seeing her all dressed up, but hearing about how happy she is in her own skin is even better.

Fergie's Got Glamour To Spare

Miss Glamorous herself showed off her curves for the May issue of Glamour. Fergie may have been dodging pregnancy rumors just a few weeks ago, but between these photos and her little black outfit for Idol Gives Back, she's putting that speculation to rest in the best way. In the issue, she touches a wide range of topics from being engaged, to giving advice to getting pregnant for real someday. Here are highlights:

On Josh: "It's interesting: He's so great-looking--everybody knows that. But that's so not the reason that I'm with him. I've dated many different types. I was all over the map. For me, it was learning about being attracted to the right things in a person, not the wrong things...."
On which celebs she'd ask for pregnancy advice: "I'd like to ask Gwen [Stefani], because she's really done a great job. I don't want to be touring, though, when I'm pregnant, like Jennifer Lopez did, like Gwen and Christina [Aguilera] did. I know I don't want that. Because I get way too physical [on stage]; I don't think I could hold myself back. And I would just be scared to hurt the baby. So for me, I'd take time off to read books about having babies, because I have no idea about any of that. I've never changed a diaper!"
On how she deals with fat days: "You just have to know what looks good on you. I say, focus on the body part that you feel most comfortable about. My legs don't change much so a good look for me is a short black dress with long sleeves. If you see me in that, you know I've gained a few pounds, which is fine."

Rihanna Leads the Way With Amazing Women For Glamour

Rihanna stole the show in her dramatic white dress as she and her fellow honorees took the red carpet at last night's Glamour Women of the Year celebration in NYC. Carnegie Hall was brimming with beautiful ladies from Iman to Maria Shriver and Diane von Furstenberg. Catherine Zeta-Jones stood out in blue and had Michael Douglas by her side for support. Rih was just one of a handful of women who were chosen by the magazine, but all eyes were on her - and most of you are loving the look, just the latest in her fashion metamorphosis!

Padma Lakshmi showed off her growing baby bump while one of the evening's honorees Stella McCartney smiled big with her award up on stage where she also had some trouble with her super short skirt. Amy Poehler and Michelle Obama were two of the magazine's other women of the year, though the First Lady didn't attend the event since she was with her husband President Barack Obama visiting with families at Fort Hood. The night was full of inspirational and important females who spoke and mingled, celebrating each other and Glamour's picks. Rihanna has come out strong opening up about her difficult year and what all this means to her – check out Rih's heartfelt speech after the jump.

A Glamourous Katie Holmes Is Not Pregnant

Katie Holmes posed for a naughty and nice photo shoot in the 70th anniversary April issue of Glamour magazine. She opens up about Tom Cruise, Suri, and how she deals with all of the media attention. She also denied any pregnancy rumors, and seems very happy with her cozy family. Here are some highlights:

On being a mom: "Well, becoming a mother has been the most amazing experience-in an instant you become strong. You have to be a little bit wiser; it’s the most important job in the world. Of course [the responsibility scared me.] During the first couple of days [with Suri], we would just sleep right next to her to make sure she was breathing. And I was constantly learning on the job, but Tom was very helpful and supportive."
On press about Suri: "Some of the stuff [people said] was such absolutely horrible things to say about a child. It was so uncalled for and so disgusting. Enough is enough. Yes, [Tom told me not to worry]. We were changing diapers. He said, 'I don’t want you to get upset.' And I said, 'Well, I am upset.' So we approached it together. But I definitely felt like-as a woman, as the mother of Suri-I want to handle this! My mom is very strong, and if anyone ever said anything about any of us, she would be, 'Excuse me? That’s my family!'"
On their typical family life: "We’re all together. We like to be together, so we use the house for our [business] meetings. [We] play Yahtzee, board games, Scrabble. We grill; have pool parties. We play 'The Three Little Pigs' and Suri is the Big Bad Wolf. [Tom] reads storybooks to Suri, and we all laugh. When a good song comes on, he’ll break out in a dance. We’ll watch movies in bed-recently Madagascar and Cinderella, for Suri. We really have a good time."

On what Tom is really like: "He loves women; he was raised with sisters. He’s strong and intelligent and very, very funny. For my thirtieth birthday he couldn’t be in New York [where she was doing her play]. So he organized the whole audience at that show to sing “Happy Birthday” to me, and then he had a cake rolled out on the stage. But he’s not a dreamer-he just does it. He’ll say, “I think I like that movie,” and the next day, “I’m going to make that movie!”
On always knowing she would marry Tom: "When Top Gun came out, my sisters were like, 'Oh, my God, Top Gun! Tom Cruise!' And I very confidently said, 'I’m going to marry him one day.' It wasn’t like, How do I get to Tom Cruise? It was just: I think I’m going to marry him. Why not? He’ll like me. I’m fun."
On her work: "I want to do it all. Bad girl, good girl, complicated girl. Aren’t we all complicated? And I like all different genres: comedies, dramas, action, musicals. I’m taking jazz and ballet lessons."

Katie seems confident in her relationships and happy with her family life and we can't complain either since we love seeing her out with Tom and adorable little Suri.

Christina's Max Has Only Made Her That Much Stronger

Six months after becoming a mom to Max, Christina Aguilera is ready to get back to work on new projects. Last week she talked to Larry King about getting political, but she's also got an album and another perfume in the works. In the August issue of Glamour magazine, Christina dishes on life since Max came along and what we can expect from her now. Here are highlights:

On her new album: "I just started recording it, but I can tell you that this record is all about fun. I'll be referencing Pop Art, Andy Warhol's art. So it will [sound] fun and fast-paced, and visually, it will be full of color, which is how it's going to tie in with my new fragrance, Inspire [in stores next month]."
On whether or not being a mom influences her music: "Absolutely--my little boy breathes new life into me. That's one of the reasons I decided to go in a playful direction with this album. I've spoken openly about the domestic violence I experienced growing up."
On her relationship with Jordan as new parents: "It's brought us closer--we're bonded together for life. Relationships and great marriages are a whole learning and growing process. We're just great teammates."

On how she and Jordan keep things romantic: "We make sure we have Mommy and Daddy nights out. On how her relationship with her own mother has changed now that she has a baby: "It's given me a deeper understanding of the things she went through. She had a difficult childhood, and I think she wanted to make sure [I didn't go through that]--[yet] she ended up marrying an abuser. My mom was so giving, almost too much, that she almost forgot about herself many times. So I'm careful to make time for myself. Rather than change who I am for Max, I bring the life lessons I've learned to the table."

Sounds like Christina is ready to return to the music scene and we have a feeling being a mommy will be part of her latest reinvention of herself.

Scarlett Johansson Talks Love, Marriage and Music in Glamour

Scarlett Johansson joined musical collaborator Pete Yorn for a photo shoot in November's Glamour, which hits newsstands on October 6. You guys are loving the music they've created, but Scarlett opened up about more than their songs - she also discussed her one year of marriage with Ryan Reynolds and addressed a recent body image controversy. Here's more:

On body image: "There was this rumor mill cranking out stories that I had lost 14 pounds - I could never lose 14 pounds. . . I hate seeing these ridiculous articles where [tabloids] guess someone’s weight. . . I can’t look at somebody who is 6 feet tall and 120 pounds and say, I’m going to get that body. That’s just never going to happen. You have to work with what you’ve got."
On getting married: "I never really thought about getting married - it just kind of happened. It seemed natural, the right thing to do. It was kind of a celebration of the time. . . I think the only difference is that I’m kind of making my own little family now, which is funny. It’s like a little bit of a tribe. You hope that a relationship makes you better, that you learn things about yourself. You’ve had this one view, and now you have another view. I feel more confident to explore things within myself that I hadn’t thought about in the past. . . My parents divorced when I was 13, so it was not the ideal representation of marriage."
On making an album with Pete Yorn: "I’ve known him for a while. I’ve worked with both of his brothers, who are in the entertainment industry. One day Pete texted me out of the blue saying, 'Hey, do you want to record an album?' I was like, 'Whoa, that’s a weird message.' But I said, 'Sure-why not?'"
