Matt Damon was showing off his legs and very blonde hair, we're still getting used to, on the set of The Human Factor in South Africa over the weekend. This might not be his dreamiest look, but the film has the kind of subject matter — Nelson Mandela's life — that could land him at next year's Oscars. He won his statue in 1997 though Damon thinks that we should let films prove their place in history before giving them awards.
Matt Damon Speaks About The People's History
Matt Damon brought The People Speak, his upcoming documentary airing on the History Channel, to the Summer TCAs in Pasadena yesterday. Matt co-executive produced the project based on Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States, which also got a famous shout out in Damon's Good Will Hunting. At the panel, Matt talked about reading the Declaration of Independence in the film, calling it an "incredible document" which we should all revisit every year.

Ben Affleck took a break from house-hunting over the weekend to feed his caffeine addiction at, where else, Starbucks in LA. With Jennifer off doing good, we were missing both halves of the Garner-Afflecks all dressed up at last night's SAG Awards. Hopefully he'll come out to lend his support for Gone Baby Gone's Amy Ryan and his brother Casey at the Oscars next month.
