Sarah Jessica Parker Loves "an Interesting, Complicated Life"

Sarah Jessica Parker chatted about I Don't Know How She Does It at a recent press day in NYC along with her costar Greg Kinnear. The duo, who play a married couple in the film, have great chemistry, and they joked about how they each do it all - and even suggested a silly drinking game for movie-watchers! The I Don't Know How She Does It reviews aren't the best of either SJP or Greg's careers, but they both brought plenty of enthusiasm to our chat.

PopSugar: The film addresses the idea of having it all. How do you relate to that notion?

Sarah Jessica Parker: You know, this idea of wanting to be all things to all people, I'm very familiar with that desire. And trying to be very much a part of a marriage and a part of a parent-child relationship, and also to be very much invested in work, and what that really means and how is it really possible. I love that I was given the opportunity to tell that story in this movie.

Greg Kinnear: I had to lift a lot of children [in the movie], and suffered a lot of back pain because of that, and I can relate to that . . . Harvey Weinstein will find out in his legal department in the next couple of months. It's the same thing, it's just the story of trying to balance - a lot of balancing in this movie for everybody. You know you pick up on this story of two people having this great thing happen in their life and trying to make everything in-between work, it's not easy.

PS: Do you have a secret to making it all work?

SJP: I don't. I wish I had some kind of really reliable blueprint but I don't. I think the truth of the matter is things change every single day and you sort of have some master plan, but children change and people get sick and schedules change and babysitters can't be there; all the planning in the world doesn't really allow humans to behave as humans and, so no. You do the best you can. I like an interesting, complicated life, I prefer it to almost anything else, so I have no one to blame but myself. Greg, who do you have to blame?

GK: I have no one to blame but Sarah Jessica Parker.

Ryan Phillippe and Busy Philipps Spend a Crafty Day With Their Little Ones

Busy Philipps and Ryan Phillippe were among the famous parents who brought their little ones along to Kidstock yesterday at LA's Greystone Mansion. The event was held to benefit the One Voice Scholars program, and there was plenty to keep the celebrity babies busy. Ryan's son, Deacon, made his own soda thanks to SodaStream, while Busy and her daughter, Birdie, got to work at the arts and crafts table. Jason Bateman also brought along 4-year-old Francesca, while Modern Family's Julie Bowen and Soleil Moon Frye also brought their kids. Ryan wrapped up the weekend with Deacon while his mom, Reese Witherspoon, was off at the MTV Movie Awards. Reese took home the ceremony's Generation Award with an empowering speech that was aimed squarely at aspiring actresses who feel the need to share sex tapes or naked photos. She kept the celebrations coming afterward as well, joining pals Chelsea Handler and Jennifer Aniston for the MTV Movie Awards afterparty at Soho House.

Sarah Jessica Parker Tries to Do It All in the I Don't Know How She Does It Trailer

It's not unusual to see Sarah Jessica Parker running all over the streets of Manhattan, but in I Don't Know How She Does It she's playing a woman with a very different set of priorities than Carrie Bradshaw. As Kate, she's a working mother who is trying to balance career with family, and though she's doing the best she can, she's having a hard time keeping her head above water. At home, she has two young children and a loving husband (Greg Kinnear), and at work, she's a financial executive in a job that she loves but frets about its dominance of her time.

Based on Allison Pearson's book of the same name, the story is one many women will find familiar. The trailer turns Kate's dilemma into a cute, palatable comedy (it even reminded me a little of One Fine Day, without the falling in love bit). I'm anxious to see Parker on the big screen again, so I'm looking forward to this one, plus it's stacked with a ton of other familiar faces like Christina Hendricks, Seth Meyers, Busy Philipps, and Olivia Munn. She was on a final push for the miniseries, which airs tonight on Reelz after The History Channel decided not to broadcast the show and HBO also declined to screen the project. Katie Holmes had her husband Tom Cruise by her side last night to premiere her miniseries The Kennedys, which will air this weekend on the Reelz channel after HBO declined to screen the controversial project. She plays Jackie O opposite Greg Kinnear's JFK, and many of you were interested in seeing the final product. Tom spent the evening supporting Katie's work after she passed much of the last few months up in Canada as he shot Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol. He's hanging out in California for the time being, though, and on Sunday attended a Lakers game with his son Connor.

Katie Holmes's The Kennedys hit a significant snag this week when the History Channel announced that it would not be airing the miniseries in the United States. There are rumors that the Kennedy family themselves may be behind the network pulling the show, though the first trailer has also earned a substantial amount of buzz. Today, executive producer Michael Prupas put out a statement about the current status saying they are actively looking for another TV home to air the show, "We don't have an offer in place. We don't have a discussion going on with a specific network. [But] there are several interested in reviewing the material. I know the material and I know anybody who's watched this material and the response has been overwhelmingly positive." Katie Holmes Dresses in Classic Pink For a Dramatic Scene

Katie Holmes and Greg Kinnear were on set again for The Kennedys miniseries in Toronto today. They were filming a serious scene, reenacting the day that John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Katie even donned a pink suit reminiscent of the iconic Chanel number that Jackie wore on the actual day in 1963. She has a busy production schedule, but promotion for The Romantics is under way - she was featured in a J. Crew spread alongside costars Josh Duhamel and Adam Brody, and she was solo on the cover of New York Magazine.

Katie, Suri, and Isabella Take a Spin on the Set of The Kennedys

Katie Holmes gave Suri a twirl during a visit to the set of The Kennedys in Toronto with her older sister Isabella yesterday. Suri was being quite the social butterfly, and even made a new friend! Katie was once again decked out in her Jackie O wardrobe, which included at least four different outfits - red, white, and blue included - in one day. Katie left Jackie's classic brown bob behind and opted for curls during a quick trip to NYC on Monday to promote The Extra Man, but was back in character immediately upon her return to Canada. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise was an ocean away flashing that movie star smile as he premiered Knight and Day in Munich with Cameron Diaz.
