Rosario Dawson looked happy while leaving a club in West Hollywood this weekend, but it probably wasn't due to Grindhouse's box office ratings. The highly anticipated double feature couldn't compete with Will Ferrell & Disney (or even Ice Cube) and came in at #4 for the weekend, grossing $11.6 million. I guess the masses didn't want to spend their holiday weekend watching sex, gore, and women with machine guns for legs.

Grindhouse Coming to a Theater Near You

Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature of sex, violence, and gross-out humor, Grindhouse, premiered in LA last night. The film was reportedly so offensive that scenes had to be cut to avoid a NC 17 rating, but the trailer shows us that it will still be a stomach churner. Eva kept it casual while out to support her friends, but obviously was fine to let the other girls shine. Rose McGowan is always up for that task and worked her black hair magic on the red carpet. We're not sure we have the stomach for this one, but we're always happy to see glammed up stars.

Sugar Bits - Mel Goes Off Once Again

Mel Gibson lost his temper last night at Cal State Northridge when several members of the Mayan community challenged his representation of their culture in Apocalypto, even telling one woman, "Lady, F**k off." Not sure if another stint in rehab is going to fix this one. - TMZ

Death Proof is a Hit at Cannes

Grindhouse may have flopped in the states but they're loving it at Cannes (at least Quentin's half of the film, Death Proof which premiered at the festival this week without its Planet Terror counterpart). Quentin is a favorite among journalists at Cannes after winning the Palme d'Or in 1994 for Pulp Fiction and they are calling the film, "amazing." Weinstein has said that he is going to market Death Proof and Planet Terror separately internationally, hoping they will be more successful on their own. If the Cannes premiere is any indication, Quentin's half looks like it will do just fine.

What happened to dear Fergie's face? That doesn't even look like Fergie. Is it a stand in? Wait, is that Brooke Hogan? I love me some Brooke Hogan, but I'm told I'm looking at Fergie. I'm confused.

But seriously, Fergs is a little unrecognizable in this shot, no? Anyway, moving on. I love to see Fergie on magazine covers, but they should totally have let her showcase those stems.

Fergs may not yet have proved herself a veritable movie star -- you know, Grindhouse didn't do so hot -- but she's still churning out the hits and managing to look cute (well, most of the time). So, unflattering covershots be damned.

Fergie Headed for an Oscar!!! Someday...

Fergie is back in LA and back to her strict training regimen, power juice fanny pack and all! That's the Fergie Fergs I love! Who am I kidding, I even love TMI Fergie. Only, a little bit less.

I'm especially excited to meet Stacy Ferguson, distinguished actress. Well, the "distinguished" part may have to wait, but she is making her big screen acting debut (Be Cool doesn't count, Poseidon shouldn't) this weekend in Grindhouse! Yay Fergs! Apparently she's not, um, brilliant. No matter, it sounds like the perfect project (one where we don't have to take anything too seriously and are there for a raucous good time) for Fergs to warm us up to the idea of her acting.

As for receiving esteemed awards? Well, those may take a little longer.

Mel B gave birth to a baby girl this morning at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica. She still maintains that Eddie Murphy is the father, yet it's evidently just a coincidence the baby shares his birthday today. Interesting. - US Weekly
