Michelle Williams Celebrates Post-SAGs With The Artist Stars and Sofia Vergara

There was a great deal for the Weinstein Company to celebrate after the SAG Awards in LA last night. They hosted a bash, along with Dewar's, at the Chateau Marmont honoring this year's crop of films, including The Iron Lady, The Artist, and My Week With Marilyn. The star of the latter film, Michelle Williams, took home a statue at the recent Golden Globe Awards, but yesterday, it was The Artist's Jean Dujardin who was onstage accepting an honor. Michelle attended the afterparty nonetheless, still decked out in her red Valentino gown. She made the rounds chatting up Bérénice Bejo, while another of the evening's winners, Modern Family's Sofia Vergara, had a moment with Jean. Lock-Out Trailer: "Loose Cannon" Guy Pearce Goes to Space

For the worst criminals in the world, a maximum-security prison on this planet will no longer suffice. In Lock-Out, the worst of the worst get to go to space. For some reason, the president's daughter is on a "goodwill mission" at the place where the most dangerous dudes in the world serve their time. During her stay, the inmates have an uprising, and there's one guy in the world who can stop them. The gorgeous Guy Pearce plays the bad boy Snow who is (and I quote) "the best there is - but he's a loose cannon."

My first impressions when I saw that Lock-Out trailer? It's a high-tech Con Air in space: the inmates take over, and they're doomed to have an epic crash down to Earth. However, the movie does have the same producers as Liam Neeson's thriller Taken, which proved to be a decent film. In the same vein, the actress who played Neeson's kidnapped daughter in the film, Maggie Grace, plays the president's daughter in Lock-Out - looks like she's got the damsel-in-distress gig down pat. Michelle and Busy Join Bradley at a Weinstein Co. Pre-Globes Bash

Michelle Williams helped the Weinstein Company get a head start on the Golden Globes celebration last night. Harvey Weinstein's enterprise hosted a bash at the Chateau Marmont that brought out the My Week With Marilyn star and her best friend, Busy Philipps. Busy was still in the bright blue Carven dress she wore to the 2012 People's Choice Awards, where she told us about her plans to be Michelle's date to the Golden Globes on Sunday! The girls went together last year as well, when Michelle was nominated, but lost, for Blue Valentine. Busy joked that if Michelle doesn't win this year, perhaps she should consider another date for future award shows!

A mustache-sporting Bradley Cooper also made the rounds at Harvey's party after stopping by Liam Neeson's premiere of The Grey. He said hello to friends at the Chateau like Paula Patton, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Morrison, Lindsay Lohan, and Downton Abbey's Elizabeth McGovern. Modern Family, Mad Men, Melissa McCarthy, Kate Winslet, and More Win Big at the Emmys

Jane Lynch kicked off last evening's Emmy Awards with a song and dance routine that included cameos from some of TV's most popular stars. Early supporting honors in a comedy went to small-screen couple Modern Family's Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, who actually beat out three of his male costars! Ty made a memorable acceptance speech about his late father. Charlie Sheen made a controversial appearance to present outstanding lead actor in a comedy series with some of his old competitors. While some were worried about what he'd say in relation to his departure from Two and a Half Men, Charlie was polite and respectful. He said, "From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together, and I know you will continue to make great television." Jim Parsons from The Big Bang Theory ended up the winner, while Mike and Molly's Melissa McCarthy won in the corresponding female category. Her rivals like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey all gathered together onstage before the victor was announced, and it was a sweet moment of support among peers.

Further nods went to The Amazing Race as best reality/variety show and The Daily Show for writing on a variety, music, or comedy series. The guys of the Lonely Island teamed up with Michael Bolton, John Stamos, Ed Helms, Maya Rudolph, and Akon for a racy medley of their SNL hits for a hilarious musical interlude. Ashton Kutcher joined his new cast mate Jon Cryer to present supporting actress in a drama to Justified's Margo Martindale, and Peter Dinklage won similarly for Game of Thrones. Martin Scorsese, meanwhile, added to his pile of awards by picking up his first ever Emmy for directing Boardwalk Empire. Julianna Margulies tearfully was crowned best actress in a drama for The Good Wife, and Kyle Chandler was able to accept his best actor in a drama statue from Friday Night Lights costar Minka Kelly, who took the stage with her fellow Charlie's Angel and producer Drew Barrymore. Downton Abbey picked up multiple honors in the miniseries categories, including best miniseries or movie, though Mildred Pierce's Guy Pearce won best actor in a miniseries and Kate Winslet added to her trophy collection with best actress. At the microphone, Kate exclaimed, "Oh look - I really did win it!" Mad Men was named best drama series again, and Gwyneth Paltrow made do without the teleprompter to present best comedy series to Modern Family. Last night's Emmy Awards show took place at LA's Nokia Theater, with Modern Family leading the pack by garnering five wins during the telecast alone! Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen received accolades for their individual performances, and they took their newly acquired gold into the press room. More stars who were honored for their work answered questions from reporters, including Mildred Pierce's Kate Winslet and Guy Pearce, The Good Wife's Julianna Marguiles, and Mike and Molly's Melissa McCarthy. Series winners Mad Men and Modern Family had their whole casts up on the podium to chat about their wins. Actors from the AMC show admitted to missing new mom January Jones, who skipped the big night, since she just welcomed son Xander a few days ago. Show creator Matthew Weiner said, "She's home with her baby, John Slattery says. Her baby had his fingers crossed, she told me that. And she said it was really weird that we were going to be here without her, and we miss her terribly."

Guy Pearce Has More Racy Comments About His Kate Winslet Love Scenes

Mildred Pierce's leading lady Kate Winslet snagged an Emmy for the miniseries tonight, and so did her costar Guy Pearce, who used most of his acceptance speech to gush about his love scenes with her. When he stopped by the press room, he had even more to say about his racy comments, what his wife will think, and wanting to know how he stacks up next to Leonardo DiCaprio.

On what his wife thinks of his speech: "I'm not sure yet. I haven't asked her. She probably thought it was funny. I'm sure she'll tell me when I get home."
On why the sex scenes with Winslet weren't awkward: "Look, because it was Kate, yes, we did have a good time. We had a good laugh really. They're nerve-wracking to have to do, but she made it really easy, I have to say."
On who gave him love scene advice: "I don't know that anyone has given me advice about love scenes. Maybe I need some, I'm not sure."
On whether Winslet has told him how his kissing skills compare with Leonardo DiCaprio's: "She hasn't. I keep asking her but she refuses to tell me, so there's obviously some bad news in there. She might tell me tonight if I get her drunk enough."

Katie Holmes Gets Spooked in the Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Trailer

I hope you're not sitting in the dark right now, because the trailer for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark might be the eeriest thing you see all day. Katie Holmes stars in the creepy flick as Kim, a woman who moves with her boyfriend (Guy Pearce) and his young daughter, Sally. They take up residence in an old mansion with the intention to fix it up, but before long, Sally starts hearing strange noises and seeing terrifying images. Before you can say "just move already!" the girl is involved in a full-blown haunting and the family is caught up in a ghostly crisis.

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, who knows a thing or two about horror, wrote the screenplay, while comic book artist Troy Nixey directed the film, which makes me think that the aesthetic will be more innovative than your usual scary movie. The trailer, meanwhile, manages to make your skin crawl every second you're watching it, even when it's not showing much. Kate Winslet Happily Leads the Way at Her Mildred Pierce Premiere

Kate Winslet was in a half-sheer Stella McCartney number yesterday for the NYC debut of her new HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce. Other members of the network's family, like Boardwalk Empire's Steve Buscemi and How to Make It in America's Bryan Greenberg, came out to show their support. Kate also had her costars on hand, including her fellow Oscar-winner Melissa Leo, a fresh-from-Michigan Evan Rachel Wood, and Guy Pearce. The two Academy Award honorees worked on their small-screen project before The Fighter actress clinched her prize, and Melissa even said her expletive-laced acceptance speech was inspired by Kate!

Last night, though, there was even more love flowing from the costars to leading lady Kate as many commented on her great attitude on the New York set last year. Evan referred to Kate as "my favorite actress hands down" before revealing the nickname she's been given by her The Ides of March director George Clooney, who apparently calls her Schnoz! Kate, meanwhile, shared her secret to both doing long hours and having a sunny attitude. She said, "You just have to do it! You have to team lead and you have to just plow on through. The thing is as well, when you're playing a character who is so present on the set, everyone sort of leads by example. I knew I had to be a leader in that sense . . . it helps everybody. You all want to enjoy your work and do the best job that you can. When the leading actor is being effervescent and positive, I think it makes a big difference to the atmosphere. But I'm always like that! Or I try to be!"
