The Oscars week events kept rolling along in LA and one of last night's big soirees was a Harvey Weinstein-hosted bash to celebrate Charlie Chaplin by Carmen and Dolores Chaplin. The event was to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Charlie Chaplin's honorary Academy Award. One of this year's nominees, an Elie Saab-clad Jessica Chastain, has been making the rounds, including at Monday's Vanity Fair party, and this time she was joined by Kate Bosworth, in Stella McCartney, and her boyfriend Michael Polish, Chelsea Handler, Busy Philipps, and more. Kate was decked out in a cute Miu Miu number to pose with Michael, and inside she mixed and mingled with some of the other attendees. Harvey Weinstein Next to Exit Halston – What Will Happen to Marios Schwab?

Harvey Weinstein is next to leave Halston, following on the heels of Sarah Jessica Parker who announced her departure Wednesday. Weinstein had an equity stake in the brand for many years, serving as a figurehead while it hasn't been able to regain its fashion status since its jumpsuit-fueled, disco '70s heyday. Adding fuel to the fire is speculation on Halston's creative designer, Marios Schwab, and where he stands in the middle of all the recent changes. According to WWD, Schwab's contract might not be renewed unless he relocates from London to New York, where Halston is based. More news on what's to happen with Halston is slated to be released in the next 10 days.

Ryan Gosling Descends on Cannes and Joins Leonardo DiCaprio at a Peaceful Dinner

Ryan Gosling popped up at his first Cannes event this evening looking dapper in Salvatore Ferragamo for the Cinema For Peace inaugural dinner honoring Sean Penn for his charitable efforts in Haiti. Leonardo DiCaprio and rumored flame Blake Lively took a break from lounging so he could stop by to say a few words while Robert De Niro, Naomi Campbell, and Uma Thurman sat in the audience. Ryan's arrival in France is later than most of the star-studded crowd as his upcoming flick Drive, costarring Carey Mulligan, is closing out the film festival. Carey debuted newly dyed brown hair this week in preparation for her next role starring opposite Leonardo in The Great Gatsby. The cast of the Baz Luhrmann remake of the classic is close to complete with Joel Edgerton now playing Tom Buchanan after Ben Affleck reportedly passed on the role last month. Carey's not the only link between Leo and Ryan, as Ryan was also momentarily romantically tied to Blake last Fall.

Sarah Jessica Parker Parties With Harvey Weinstein and Hits the Carpet in Cannes

Sarah Jessica Parker dazzled in a white Dolce & Gabbana gown at The Weinstein Company's Vitamin Water-sponsored soiree in Cannes last night. Harvey Weinstein presented previews of their upcoming slate including My Idiot Brother, which debuted at Sundance, and My Week With Marilyn, which is out later this year and stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe. Sarah Jessica took the stage to present a five-minute peek at I Don't Know How She Does It, the romantic comedy she recently filmed. She admitted she was a bit nervous to show off the project in front of the crowd, but the funny and touching clips left me eager to see the finished product. The movie stars Sarah as a working mom trying to juggle her career and family, and it features an ensemble cast including Pierce Brosnan, Olivia Munn, Christina Hendricks, and Greg Kinnear. Harvey gushed a bit about Sarah up on stage, saying that his friend Anthony Minghella would have loved her for the part. Jennifer Garner and Harvey Weinstein Break Bread and Talk Butter Over Dinner

Jennifer Garner enjoyed a low-key meal with a group of friends, including Harvey Weinstein, in NYC last night. Jennifer took off from LA earlier in the weekend and was deep in conversation over a glass of wine at yesterday's meal. Jennifer and Harvey worked together on the political satire Butter, which also costars Olivia Wilde, Ashley Greene, and Hugh Jackman. The film is set to open later this year, but before then Jen has a growing list of projects on her plate. She recently wrapped The Odd Life of Timothy Green in Atlanta, and up next she'll share the screen with Andrew Garfield in Back Roads. Jennifer's trip east came after celebrating the royal wedding by watching the ceremony and proceedings over a special brunch for her daughters, Seraphina and Violet. Harvey's in the Big Apple for work, but he's also supporting his wife, Georgina Chapman, the cofounder and creative designer at Marchesa, who will be styling some lucky celebrities for tonight's Met Gala. Anne Hathaway Lets Loose, Dances With an Oscar at Weinstein Party!

Anne Hathaway celebrated the end of a very successful Oscars hosting gig by hitting the dance floor at the Weinstein party. She grabbed onto someone's little gold man, presumably from one of the many The King's Speech wins, to show off her moves and her arm muscles with the heavy statue. Her boyfriend, Adam Shulman, watched on and joined in on the fun as onlookers snapped pictures with their phones. Anne picked her red Atelier Versace for the festivities, which was one of seven looks she wore on stage. James Franco and Anne's performance earned mixed reviews, and Buzz thinks she could have done it all on her own. James also released the full video of their Grease homage that ended up on the cutting-room floor. He apparently wasn't in the mood to hit the town last night, since he skipped his own ultra-exclusive bash to head back to school on the East Coast.

Hollywood's exciting run-up to the Oscars continued with a dinner thrown by Harvey Weinstein and Dior at Chateau Marmont in LA yesterday. The brand's newest model and Academy Award nominee, Natalie Portman, couldn't make it since she was busy traveling to the West Coast with her fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, but plenty of other stars came out to celebrate. It was Halle Berry's second glamorous event of the week after she donned a hot red dress for the Costume Designers Guild Awards, though this time she made it a date night with boyfriend Olivier Martinez by her side. Hostess-to-be Anne Hathaway took a break from her show preparations for the evening out amid rumors that she and James Franco will perform a song from Grease on the stage. Busy Philipps returned from the snowy East Coast to pose with pal Rosario Dawson, while actors Gerard Butler and Adrien Brody took a minute to chat. Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Meyer, and Michelle Trachtenberg were among the other guests to toast the upcoming Oscars, where we'll be broadcasting live from the red carpet and backstage. Ryan Gosling Celebrates Blue Valentine's R and Gushes About "Incredible" Blake Lively

Ryan Gosling posed with his onscreen family, Michelle Williams and Faith Wladyka, as well as their director Derek Cianfrance at a special Blue Valentine luncheon in NYC today. The event was hosted by The Weinstein Company, and the whole crew had a lot to celebrate since they won their appeal to bring the movie's rating down from NC-17 to R yesterday. Ryan and Michelle have had a full week promoting the film on the East Coast, including at Tuesday's premiere, where Blake Lively was spotted sneaking in the side door. She stuck by Ryan's side for the afterparty, and this afternoon he addressed the rumors of romance. Ryan said of Blake, "She's an incredible actress; she's a good friend," and when asked more generally about relationships in the industry, he quipped, "You're not allowed to have friends in this business." Blake is known for her sexy style, and she earned new respect for her work in The Town, while Ryan's big heart and charm make him so very hot. Not to mention he doesn't take himself too seriously, which makes Blake, whatever their status, a very lucky girl.

Michelle Williams Mixes Her Marilyn and Valentine Friends

Michelle Williams cozied up to her My Week With Marilyn costar Dominic Cooper last night at a London party for her film Blue Valentine. The duo have been shooting together for the last month, even enjoying a brief cameo from Emma Watson. Ladies man Dominic, though, has had enough time off to make the party rounds and hang out with January Jones. Michelle and Dominic mingled with producer Harvey Weinstein, whose company is behind both the Marilyn Monroe project and the movie they were celebrating yesterday. Harvey, Michelle, and Ryan Gosling are all united in their frustration at Blue Valentine's NC-17 rating, and they're apparently getting a legal team together to battle the label they think is unfair. Michelle, who's looking good with Ryan in their new poster, is also said to be worried that the NC-17 association will diminish their chances at the Oscars next year.

Carey Celebrates Her New Role at a Fashionable Bash With Gossip Girls and Olsens

Starlets convened in NYC last night for the annual CFDA Fashion Fund Awards. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen stuck with their black routine to pose at the event, and Blake Lively had a similar thought in her lace dress. Her Gossip Girl buddies like Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick also turned out as their latest episode, full of OMG moments, aired on the small screen. Carey Mulligan was decked out in sequins to celebrate the good news that she's been cast as Daisy in the upcoming remake of The Great Gatsby. The actors were all on hand to see which designer would take home the organization's grand prize, and Billy Reid was the winner, followed by runners-up Eddie Borgo and Prabal Gurung.
