SJP and Matthew Hanging with the Clintons

SJP and Matthew joined the Clintons this weekend for a reception at the Tibor de Nagy Gallery. We're looking forward to seeing Matthew team up with Kristin Davis in the holiday film Deck the Halls, and of course still crossing our fingers that SJP really will be reuniting on the big screen with Kristin for Sex and the City.

Hilary Duff has signed a deal with NBC to star in a new series that has yet to be chosen and in the meantime she will guest star on various shows on the network. - Variety

Sugar Bits - McCain Cancels on Letterman, Not Couric

Dave Letterman wasn't pleased yesterday when John McCain canceled his scheduled appearance on the show at the last minute. McCain said it was part of his campaign's suspension, however he still found time for an interview with Katie Couric. - Huffington Post

Charlize and Eva Show Their DNC Support in Denver

The Democratic National Convention rolled on last night with another rousing series of speeches, including from Hilary Clinton, and more stars arriving in Denver. Charlize Theron, a new US citizen and voter, was out with Stuart at a screening of their movie Battle in Seattle. Meanwhile, Eva stopped off to check in with the MySpace computer station. Naturally Anderson Cooper was there to cover the event, but what can I say, I'll take any excuse to post him. The same goes for Kal Penn, my recent fair game foe. Of course, these are just a few of the stars expected to make appearances this week - our Citizen girls have even had celeb sightings themselves.

Lindsay Rambles On

It's time to take Lindsay's BlackBerry away. Her publicist asked the media to take it easy on her client, but LL makes it too hard. Dina has flown out to LA to help her daughter get herself together and it looks like she's going to have her work cut out for her. LL adds another bizarre rant to her list of weird behavior. Last week she sent out a rambling and partly incoherent email to her friends claiming that Al Gore is ready to help her clean up her image by taking on the media. Page Six reports:

"Al Gore will help me. He came up to me last night and said he would be very happy to have a conversation with me," Lohan wrote last week in a rambling, semi-literate e-mail to her friends and lawyers.

In the bizarre message read by Page Six, Lohan burbled, "If he is willing to help me, let's find out. Hilary [sic] Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Evan Metroplis [sic], and John Daur who works with them would be willing, if we just ask. If we just ASK."

Lohan was apparently inspired to send out the e-mail by a Page Six item on her "mean girls diva fit" at a GQ magazine party in L.A. Referring to a supermarket tabloid report claiming she had overdosed on drugs, she wrote, "Let's sue the tabloids for saying the things they say. Defamation of character."

Invoking what she puzzlingly calls the "way of the future-Howard Hughes," her desire is to "release a politically/morally correct, fully adequite [sic] letter to the press."

Lohan says she wants to state her opinions on "how our society should be educated for the better of our country. Our people . . . because I have such an impact on our younger generations, as well as generations older than me. Which we all know and can obviously see."

Lohan then mentions taking a mystery person she refers to as "LR" to court for "what she's done to me.

"It's my life. I want to live it. People cannot lie and think that it is okay to continue on having done so. I have had many ups and downs, as do we all. But to make false accusations to one girl is unjust in my opinion. I am willing to do anything I need to get my life the way it should be."

Lohan said she wanted to "hold a press conference" and "will do anything necessary to do so." She said she is at "such a young and tender age in a woman's life. It's enough already, I've had enough and I am going to be the one to make a change."

Maybe if LL stopped partying she wouldn't have such a bad reputation. Let's hope she gets the help that she needs. It seems like one of the first things that Dina should do is take away her email account. To see more of LL leaving Orso, read more

Sugar Bits - Obama and Huckabee Win in Iowa

Big win for Barack Obama last night at the Iowa caucus. He won with 38 percent followed by John Edwards and Hilary Clinton. On the Republican side Mike Huckabee beat Mitt Romney, despite the former Massachusetts governor out spending the Arkansas one by millions of dollars. Britney may have stole their thunder, but we bet both campaigns are still celebrating right now as they head to New Hampshire. - CNN
Pamela Anderson will be proceeding with her divorce from Rick Salomon after all, as she served him with divorce papers on Dec. 28. Not too shocking considering her solo NYE in that too-revealing dress. - Us Weekly

Natalie Imbruglia and husband Daniel Johns, of the band Silverchair, are separating after four years of marriage because they "have simply grown apart." So sad to hear this couple is "torn" apart! - Reuters
It looks like those twins J Lo is expecting might be a girl and a boy, as her friends are shopping for baby items in both blue and pink. Somehow we have a feeling that the wardrobe of J Lo's children will go beyond just blue and pink. - Page Six
Jay Leno was scolded by the Writers' Guild yesterday after the monologue he used on Wednesday's show violated their rules. He (a union member) admitted that he wrote it beforehand and did the same thing again last night. Sounds like he may not have much respect for the strike after all. - People
Some details in The Great Debaters, which claims to be based on a true story, were changed in order to make the film more compelling. For example, in the film Denzel's debaters face off against a team from Harvard, but they were actually from USC. Hardly seems like a scandalous lie considering other things Hollywood has fabricated in the past.- Page Six

Paris Very Very Very Exposed

Yikes. Well, perhaps I spoke too soon about never again having to bear witness to Paris Hilton's private life. As you may recall, a while ago when Paris moved houses she left many of her personal belongings in a storage facility. She subsequently forgot to pay the bills on said storage and the unit's proprietors sold the contents. Shady business practices much? Anyway, the man (or woman, I'm not sure we know) who bought the unit's contents put up a website yesterday, Paris Exposed (NSFW), offering a $39.97/month subscription service for access to all of Paris' personal effects. Still following? Here's where it gets juicy. Among (many, many) other things, the website claims that the subscription gets you access to the following:

Have you ever seen a kilo of cocaine? How about on someone's chest? (Ed note: Yeah right.) [Watch billionaire kids snort cocaine off the chest of one of their friends].
What does she really think about Nicole Ritchie (sic)? Read exclusive notes and letters.
Did she really give Cher's son genital herpes? (Ed note: Hilarious)
Is Paris still bisexual? See the videos
Get the private phone numbers of 1,000's of celebrities including Donald Trump, Chelsea Clinton (Ed note: Random), Michael Jackson, Nicole Ritchie (sic), Christina Aguilera, Pink, Madonna, Governor Schwarzenegger and many more.

Seriously, go check it out. The list, if true, offers a pretty intense invasion of privacy. Paris' ~~towel boy~~ Publicist Elliot Mintz has responded by saying "We certainly are going to explore all of our legal options about this matter." If there is any truth to the website's claims, expect to see all the contents vomited onto the internet quite soon. I, for one, am holding my breath.
