Ben is Still Talking about Hollywoodland

Ben may not want Hollywoodland to be known as his comeback role, but he clearly is pretty proud of the film. Last night Affleck was on hand to host a screening of the movie. He showed off his Superman inspired flick at the Walter Reade Theater in NYC. In case you missed it, you too will get to enjoy more of Ben in his hit movie very soon - Hollywoodland is all set to be released on DVD February 6th.

Hollywoodland Premiere in Venice

The cast of Hollywoodland were looking fabulous at the Venice Film Festival. The movie is getting great early buzz, but Ben Affleck doesn't want to call this movie a comeback. It's probably a good idea he has taken a break from crappy movies like Gigli and Surviving Christmas but is America ready for Affleck to return to the big screen? Apparently not. Poor Ben might have been cut out of the commercials due to poor feedback in focus groups. Defamer reports many are still sick of the man who was overexposed by the tabloids.

Hot Hollywoodland

We got a sneak peak at Ben's comeback movie and it was amazing. If you like the old Hollywood murder mystery genre then you are bound to enjoy this flick this weekend. We know Ben doesn't want us to use the "c" word but it's nice to see he finally chose to be in a good movie again. As for his acting - well, he plays an actor so it wasn't a huge stretch but he was very good. The real talent is Adrien Brody. No wonder this guy has an Oscar. He was excellent. The beautiful Diane Lane was also mesmerizing. Check it out this weekend and enjoy! In the meantime, look who made an appearance on the red carpet to support her man. Jennifer Garner is looking amazing again. You go girl!

Ben Affleck Is Like So Over Tights

Ben Affleck doesn't want to be a superhero. After dressing up as Daredevil and Superman in Hollywoodland, he has announced that it is actually embarrassing for him to be wearing tights. At a recent press conference in the UK for Hollywoodland, Ben said:

"By playing a superhero in Daredevil, I have inoculated myself from ever playing another superhero. Wearing a costume was a source of humiliation for me and something I wouldn't want to do again soon."

Matt and Ben Boy's Night Out

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were on-hand for a screening of Hollywoodland at The Times BFI 50th London Film Festival earlier this week. The festival showcases the best films around the world which says quite a lot about Hollywoodland. Ben already won a Best Actor award at the Venice Film Festival and the Hollywood Film Festival. The BFI's don't give out best film or best actor awards but that doesn't mean there isn't an Oscar nomination in his future. However, we think he has tough competition with Matt in The Departed and The Good Shepherd.

As for Matty, we asked you yesterday whether or not you liked his jean jacket look. Most of you said no, but from the look of these pics it's clear that the jean jacket isn't stopping anyone from wanting his autograph. It's so great for Matt to come out to support Ben. Glamour Celebrates Its Fabulous Women of the Year

Glamour's Women of the Year 2007 came together at NYC's Lincoln Center last night to celebrate each other. Jennifer Connelly's dress was a fabulous color while the first ever Girl of the Year, Abigail Breslin looked perfectly appropriate. Mariah performed for the big event while some of TV's finest doctors, Taye and Eric Dane (and Chief), were among the men out to honor all these fabulous ladies. The issue's cover girl Jennifer Garner celebrated her night off from Broadway and pulled off a dress that most women could not, but didn't walk the red carpet with Ben. In the magazine Jennifer talks about why that is. She said:

We’ve worked really hard not to be one of those couples who are constantly in the limelight. In the past we’ve both been the kind of people who go along with things-if you’re supposed to be photographed together, you don’t question it. But how does that help your relationship? So now we refuse to walk the red carpet together: It’s a way of not condoning the attention. Plus, it just feels silly to be in that situation with him: Ben was nominated for a Golden Globe [for 2006’s Hollywoodland]. I remember being photographed next to him and thinking, This is ridiculous. You’re not some actor; you’re my husband.

While I fully appreciate her persepective, I can admit that I would love to see them walk together every once in a while. Even (or as it turns out, especially) without, they're certainly one of the cutest and most real marriages in Hollywood. A big big congrats to all the wonderful and inspiring women both winning the honors and attending the event last night. Claps, claps.

Jen, Ben and Violet were seen leaving a film studio in LA. Can you believe little Violet is almost a year old already? Jennifer showed us all that she is totally back into shape with her stunning look at the Hollywood Film Festival. Ben's Two Loves

It's amazing what a difference a "Jennifer" makes. Just a few short years ago Ben was headed down the worst over exposed path he could have chosen. Now he is back on top of the world. With a hit movie like Hollywoodland and 2 beautiful women in his life Ben looks happier than ever. How cute is Ben while watching baby Violet while Jennifer gets ready as a bridesmaid in a friends wedding? The couple also never looked happier at the annual Children's Defense Fund's Awards where Jen also hung out with Reese and more.

Ben Affleck Taken By Surprise

Ben spent some time at the Venice Film Festival to promote his new film Hollywoodland, but decided to leave the festivities a bit early. And by leaving early, Ben missed his name being called for the Best Actor Award as George Reeves in the movie. He may not want to use the C word for this film, but I think this proves it's definitely his big comeback. He said, "If I thought for a second that there were going to be awards for anybody, I would have stayed!"
