Britney somehow managed to dress herself in a non-scandalous way while out with her new man friend, musician Howie Day, in Beverly Hills this weekend. Rumor has it that the two met in rehab, and while there's no proof that this friendship is anything romantic, Brit certainly looks pretty giddy in his car on Saturday night. Hey, even the hat isn't completely idiotic.

The blue-eyed Britney wore her favorite boots to celebrate her sister Jamie Lynn's 16th Birthday at Ruth's Chris last night. It looks like Brit had a little accident during the meal, but that didn't take the smile off her face. Word is Britney found a new man she met at Promises, musician Howie Day.

The TCAs wrapped up on Monday with a few fabulous shows from NBC. Zachary Levi and Josh Schwartz revealed fun news about Nicole Richie's role on Chuck, including her very exciting shower fight scene. We also heard from Brooke Shields who's thrilled to get back to work on Lipstick Jungle, especially with Mary Tyler Moore playing her mom.

Britney Spears slipped into a sexy LBD and hit the blue carpet with a smile on Saturday night at the Generation Rescue Event hosted by Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy. The pop star apparently sipped on red wine, looked happy and expressed interest in the information about autism Jim and Jenny presented through the night. Friday's big news about settling her custody dispute with Kevin — even though she now owes him $20,000 per month in child support — must have put Britney in a good enough mood to want to hit the town and hang out with some celebrity friends.

The entire cast of Reign Over Me looked just great at last night's New York premiere. Earlier in the day, Adam had to fill some big shoes by acting as temporary Letterman when the late night host fell ill. Adam had been the scheduled guest, but instead he played host and Cheadle was the substitute guest.

It may not be the Emmys or the Golden Globes but the Family TV Awards are still important. That's because someone should recognize the family friendly programming on television these days. Last night was the eighth annual Family Awards in Beverly Hills.
