J Lo's El Cantante Hits Close To Home

J Lo and Marc have been side-by-side on their El Cantante promotional tour, but Jennifer went solo in some Fab shoes to The Today Show this morning. The movie is obviously near and dear to both Jen and Marc, but it's been especially important to her as the first film from her new company, Nuyorican Productions. She told Matt Lauer about why she chose this project in particular, "I always wanted this to be first because it’s a Latin story, because it does have music in it. I felt it just personified everything I’ve been about through my career." Well, considering the story is ultimately tragic, hopefully it's not about everything in her career, but it's always good to hear about stars' passion projects.

J Lo & Marc Help Fight Child Obesity

Jennifer showed off a touch of skin in NYC with Marc while the two continue to promote El Cantante. These two obviously love working together and it was just announced that during their upcoming tour one dollar for every ticket sold will be donated to help fight childhood obesity. Jennifer said in a Press Release, "When I was a kid, we spent most of our time outside visiting in the neighborhood with friends. This is the first generation of kids who are so sedentary and the first whose parents might outlive them. We really need to be active in encouraging healthy eating and the joys and fun of exercising." It sounds like she and Shaq have something in common.

After being pretty MIA for a while, J. Lo is back. Last night she performed with Marc at Madison Square Garden. She has announced she is adding to her fragrance collection. Live Luxe, celebrating her love for dance, is the 4th fragrance in her very successful line. It hits stores in the US this month, and worldwide in September. So much for Paris claiming she's a more successful businesswoman than J. Lo! How hilarious is the photo of her and Marc on the right?

Madonna Implies J. Lo Copies Her - Plausible or Pretentious?

Madonna paid a visit to David Letterman earlier this week, and yesterday she called in to chat with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. While she's not one to shy away from controversy, it seems like Madonna was actively trying to create drama when she implied that Jennifer Lopez tries to copy her. Of J. Lo's visit to one of her shows, Madonna said, "I was getting super-sharp looks from [Lopez] . . . . Whenever artists come to see my show, they're studying me." A diva fight could be just what Madonna needs to promote her upcoming album Celebration, but tell us what you think of Madonna's implication that J. Lo copies her - is it plausible or pretentious?

Is J Lo Coming Back?

Last week J Lo hit fashion week in NYC with her Sweetface designs and now a new single from LL Cool J featuring J Lo has leaked on the internet. She looked great at her show and I'm thinking maybe the old J Lo may be coming back to us. We'll still have to deal with the whole Marc as her husband thing, but they do seem happy together and these days we'll take any happy couple over another sad divorce. Take a listen to J Lo backing up LL on popbytes. By the way, I'd love an LL Cool J comeback!!!

J Lo Is Not Ready to Tell Us What We Already Know

Despite rumors otherwise, J Lo did not make the big baby announcement back in her hometown at Saturday night's MSG concert, nor was she ready to give away any details at TRL today. Though, after that very telling photo, plus her new found love for spandex and flowy shirts, we've pretty much already made up our minds about J Lo's pregnancy. Obviously this milestone in Jennifer and Marc's personal life was the topic of public discussion long before they intended it to be. J Lo recently talked to Giant Magazine about having her privacy violated by the paparazzi and watching other stars deal with the same problem. Here's more:

"People wonder why Britney or Lindsay or Paris is acting crazy, but they don't know what it means not to be able to walk outside your house," says Lopez. " 'Oh, but she has $10 million!' they say, but that doesn't help when you can't ... feel good!"
"I feel so bad when I see people going through the beginnings of it. Because it's not fun. You have to learn to navigate it 'cause if you don't, it will eat you up. ... It's a lot of pressure. And you gotta keep grounded and find a way to deal with it and hopefully have love in your life."

She sounds like Jennifer has the motherly instinct coming through as she gives young Hollywood women some advice. Now if only she'd make an announcement but perhaps she's learning from another young starlet who never made the obvious announcement.
