We spent two hours watching movie plug after movie plug at the MTV Movie Awards last night, and while the show had some funny shining moments, we still missed the spoofs. We actually expected a lot more Love Guru so I was thrilled to see the return of Wayne and Garth instead (yay for Dana Carvey!). The stars of the night were Johnny Depp who proved his acting range as he humbly racked up awards for Best Villain and Best Comedic Performance, and the Tropic Thunder boys who got their laughs with funny banter and Iron Man idolization.

Orlando Bloom grabbed a bite to eat in LA yesterday while Miranda Kerr posed with Heidi Klum and the rest of the VS Angels before they all hit the runway together last night. It Was a Night Full of Tears and Laughter at the Golden Globes
After last year's abridged version of the Globes, everyone seemed excited to go back to the traditional show with all the Hollywood glamour and exciting speeches. Jennifer Lopez kicked off the show in her gold revealing gown where she handed out the first award to last night's real star — Kate Winslet. The actress scored a double win at the beginning and the end of the show and her heartfelt loving thank yous to both Leo and her husband were a highlight.
The People Choose Their Nominees
The 2007 People's Choice Awards nominees were announced today by Isaiah Washington and Neil Patrick Harris. Luckily nothing went down between these two, but Isaiah did have to read Patrick Dempsey's name for Favorite Male TV Star. Other nominees included Jen and Vince for favorite on screen duo, Matt Damon for Favorite Leading Man and Favorite On-Screen Match-Up with Leo in The Departed.
MTV Kept It On The Tame Side at Movie Awards
Ah the show, the show, the 2 Hour Advertisement For Transformers MTV Movie Awards. Sarah Silverman was just sort of meh as a host for me, but, to be fair, after seeing the men and women arrive the whole show was pretty tame compared to what MTV has churned out in awards shows of yore. Interestingly (and oddly) exactly zero women won or accepted any awards.

It hasn't been quite the Spider-man 3 world tour - especially without Keira - but this latest installment will still most likely be huge at the box office. Even so, Johnny is still overshadowed in the eyes of two very important critics - his kids Lily Rose and Jack.
Johnny Depp Gives and Receives
Most of you were missing the Golden Globes as much as we were last night, and one of the biggest letdowns was that we couldn't see our favorite stars accept their trophies. It seems that Johnny Depp was also sad about missing the opportunity to make an acceptance speech, and decided to release a full statement thanking his family, friends and co-stars for his first ever Golden Globe win.
Johnny is obviously very appreciative of his first Golden Globe, but he's still giving thanks for another gift he received last year.
