Gwyneth and Jake Check Out The Good Night

Gwyneth went from showing off Pleasures in Chicago to attending a screening of The Good Night in East Hampton this weekend. The film is a family affair that stars and was written and directed by her brother Jake. Unfortunately, it looks like their mom Blythe Danner missed the event, but the siblings were surrounded by lots of good family friends including Stella McCartney and Kate Capshaw. Jake wasn't sure about having his sister star in his directorial debut, but Gwyneth begged and got the part. She said, "I read the script, and I was like, Please let me be in this! It's so weird and real and amazing."

Famous Friends and Family Have A Good Night

Last night was a family affair for the Paltrows at the premiere of The Good Night. The film stars Gwyneth and is directed by her brother Jake. Their mom Blythe Danner came out to support her two kids, along with family friends Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw. Gwyneth was so moved by Jake's directorial debut she even cried onstage after the screening, saying, "I'm so proud of my brother." Sounds like the film went off without a hitch. Gwyn was evidently concerned that the unpatriotic comments she was said to have made last year (she said later she was misquoted) would hurt her brother's film. But from the big turnout at Sundance, it looks like she has nothing to worry about.

Gwyneth Worried About Screwing It Up For Her Brother

Gwyneth is still regretting the supposedly unpatriotic statements she made to a Portuguese newspaper. After admitting her comments were lost in translation due to her poor language skills, she is still worried the backlash against her will affect her brother's directorial debut film since audiences may boycott the film due to her statements. Life & Style reports:

“She’s just torn up about this,” says an insider.

The actress insists she was simply “speaking from the heart” when she spoke of her love for the English lifestyle.

“But when she went online and saw the reaction, she freaked out,” says the insider. “She called her press agent, who advised her to issue a statement that she’s proud to be an American.”

Now Gwyneth is just hoping the American public will forgive her.

Says the insider: “It would break her heart if Jake’s first major directing effort was torpedoed because she misspoke.”

In the past good movies usually win out over bad press. Hopefully people will accept Gwyneth's explanation and move on. For more pics just read more

Gwyneth Keeps It in The Family

Gwyneth seems to be losing all that baby weight by going to the same gym as Madonna. Besides working out Gwyneth has also been working with her brother Jake on The Good Night. Jake is directing the film which includes Danny DeVito, Penelope Cruz and Martin Freeman. Gwyneth is no stranger to working with her famous family but this is the first film she's done with Jake. It's about a washed-up pop star who writes jingles and has a mid-life crisis. We look forward to seeing what the family creates.

Jake and Gwyneth Help Reese Celebrate One Thanksgiving

While Ava and Deacon were busy celebrating Thanksgiving with Ryan Phillippe this year, Reese Witherspoon was in London to promote Four Christmases and spend the holiday with her man Jake. The couple you were most interested in spending the holiday with headed to a party thrown by Richard Rogers, and included other celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Salman Rushdie. On Saturday Reese found time to do some shopping, though she recently admitted that her holiday spirit is on hold until she's done promoting her film. She said, "I'm just not getting into the spirit of it. After I get done with this tour I'm going to definitely start doing the Christmas shopping, the whole thing." At least all of her hard work is paying off - the romantic comedy took top honors at the box office on its opening weekend.

RDJ and Gwyneth Finish Up the First Day on Iron Man 2

Pepper Potts and Tony Stark reunited in Pasadena yesterday as the cast and crew got to work on Iron Man 2. Both Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr. slipped back into their familiar roles with ease - RDJ even carried an Iron Man lunchbox with him on set. Director Jon Favreau excitedly twittered about how excited he was to get back to set and see his chair waiting. Robert celebrated his 44th birthday in LA over the weekend joined by friends Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal as well as Favreau and Gwyneth which sounds like the perfect way to kick off work on the eagerly anticipated film.

Gwyneth Paltrow showed off her classic style and piercing blue eyes on the cover of Britain's Daily Mail Magazine. In the article, she talks about everything from her decision to make less movies, gossiping and more. She even opened up about her ideal family growing plans. Here are some highlights:

On her life before meeting Chris: "I spent ten years working so much that I had no time to explore the world. I was racing everywhere and working 14 hours a day. I was always searching for who I was and what I was supposed to be doing. All that work wasn't really making me feel that great about myself. I didn't have a relationship that was of any real significance or worth."
On getting back to work on Iron Man after taking a break: "I had the best time making it. What was nice for me was that I felt so much enthusiasm for my work again. It was really important for me to have that break. I'm not going to work like I did before I had kids, though. I want to call Kate Winslet and say, 'Can you tell me how to do this?', or Cate Blanchett and ask her to describe her working day. But it's not going to be back-to-back films."

On gossip: "There’s obviously an appetite for gossip... It is very addictive to see what people are doing and wearing and saying – and who is breaking up. I was talking to a good friend of mine about this very subject. He had just been with someone very famous – it is best not to name him – who had been outraged when reading an inaccurate gossip item about himself in the New York Post. Then, he turned the page of the same newspaper and said, “ My God, have you seen who’s together?” So we’re all at it, aren’t we?"
On her brother Jake: "Jake was like any young brother growing up. He used to tease me and I used to joke about him. But we were lucky in that we had a good family life and upbringing. He is so artistic and has great vision. It is nice to work with people like that - people who know what they want."
On living in London: "I love the house. It has a warm feeling. London is great. I love it here and I love the British way of life."

Sounds like Gwyneth has grown up a lot since settling down and starting a family. We can't believe she may want two more kids back to back once Moses and Apple are in school. Would you want that? One thing seems for sure, she and Chris are still happy and going strong, despite all the rumors about their relationship.

Reese Witherspoon was out shopping her way around LA again yesterday. With her kids at Magic Mountain and Jake Gyllenhaal off working on The Prince of Persia, it looks like she's taking advantage of her free time with a yummy looking iced coffee. She's certainly earned her shopping - according to Forbes' list of Top Earning Actors she banked $25 million last year making her the fourth-highest paid actress after Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston and Keira Knightley and tied with Gwyneth Paltrow. It's no surprise that those are some of our favorites around here too.
