Colin Farrell Opens and Softens Up

Colin once had a reputation as a partying bad boy, but now this sobered up lad has shown his sweet side. Last month we heard how generous Colin is when he took a homeless man on a shopping spree, and now he is talking for the first time about his 4-year-old son James, revealing that he was born with a rare form of cerebral palsy called Angelman Syndrome. Colin shows what a doting dad he is and how much he adores his son just the way he is. He said,

”With my son the only time I'm reminded that there is something different about him – that he has some deviation of what is perceived to be normal – is when I see him with other four-year-olds. Then I go “oh yeah” and it comes back to me. But from day one I felt that he's the way he's meant to be.... He took his first steps about six weeks ago and it was four years in the making. All the work is his, he worked his arse off for four years.”

Colin Farrell Is A Reformed Bad Boy

Colin Farrell looked pretty freaking adorable with his son James at LAX last week. Fine, Colin himself isn't looking his best in that fedora (though I do appreciate a little scruff), but it doesn't sound like it's bothering his new lady friend. The actor has been dating Muireann McDonnell, a 22-year-old student from Dublin, for at least six months and the two spent a romantic weekend in Vegas last week, avoiding the nightclubs entirely. Sounds like notorious Colin is reformed after all. Must be love. Wink.

Leading Men Suit Up For the Oscars

Do you like looking at handsome actors in pretty suits? Then last night's Oscars must be right up your alley! Yes, it's true, the men for the most part played it safe but there's no way to complain about seeing the likes of Clooney and Dempsey at their most dapper. Yum. Javier Bardem didn't walk with his girlfriend Penelope Cruz, but he looked confident on his way in to win his little gold man. Check out all the winners here! Johnny Depp is always a favorite so he could have shown up in jeans - no complaints. Sure, they may not be as colorful or exciting (or red!) as all the ladies red carpet looks, but with all these men there's gotta be a little manjoyment for everyone here. It's just a question of which one suits (get it?!) your fancy?

Colin Farrell Is Figuring It All Out In Bruges

While In Bruges kicked off Sundance with its world premiere, it's still got the rest of the world to meet, including last night's NYC screening. Of course, Colin Farrell was out to show off his film (and his hot accent) though something about that fedora is so not working for me. That being said, he won me over entirely talking about his son last fall and again recently saying, "I really hope if he’s anything of me he’s whatever the best of me is." He also talked about taking a break in his career post-Miami Vice and what that's all meant to him. He said:

“I’m just trying to figure it out...I use work kind of selfishly to try and understand myself and the world around me and all that kind of stuff. I also use myself and the world around me to try and understand the work so it’s kind of mutually generous in that way. I had a chance after ‘Miami Vice’ to take a little time off and I took a little time off. There was no major orchestration and I’m being really genuine because I know it sounds like I’m just saying it for saying its sake, but I never really had a master plan. I’ve just been very lucky and have had a load of opportunities...I just took the time to try and figure out what it all means to me.”

See, he may look all rough and tumble, but Colin seems like a sweetheart deep down. I gotta say, this bad boy gone good thing is totally working for me, even if I am not always loving the look.

The Oscars Are Back but Not With a Vengeance

Last night the winners weren't shocking but the show still had a few memorable moments. First off, let's not blame Jon Stewart for the probably least watched Oscars ever. It wasn't his fault they had no time to prepare which left us watching montage after montage. The pregnancy joke was inevitable - too bad Jolie wasn't even there to accept her pseudo-award. It also wasn't Jon's fault that it took over an hour before a big actor award was handed out. When that time came, Javier took the stage with a smile. Expected winner, Daniel Day-Lewis kissed his fellow nominee George Clooney on his way up to grab his little gold man. Of the many Enchanted performances, my favorite was the adorable Kristin Chenoweth singing, "That's How You Know." One pleasant surprise was seeing Owen Wilson presenting Best Live Action Short. We're also very happy to see Juno win something! Congrats Diablo Cody!

New Bond By Process of Elimination

By now everyone should know the new James Bond has been announced. The same boring headline of It's Craig, Daniel Craig has been used by almost every news outlet.

The more interesting news is that the producers are embarrassed beyond belief about an email circulating explaining why they rejected the many other actors in consideration for the part. The email rejects Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell due to:

The secret email branded Jackman "too fey", McGregor "too short" and Farrell "too sleazy"

So Daniel Craig got the part by default.

Colin's Nerve Wracking Dream

Colin Farrell took a break from promoting Cassandra's Dream with Woody Allen to explore SoHo in NYC last night. The pair looked a bit unenthused at the premiere the other night, but maybe that's because Colin gets a little intimidated around his director. He said, "I remember once saying, 'Can I get another take?' And he said, 'If you think you can do it better.' And he wasn't being a smart ass. He meant it. I said, 'No, it's fine, actually.' I felt stupid. It was too much pressure."

It's been interesting to learn about Colin's less bad-boy ways, like when he opened up about his son's condition back in October. This week he also talked about how James is improving and they'll be spending the holidays together relaxing and eating with the rest of the family.

We love hot Jared Leto but the most recent version of the rocker has not been our favorite. We personally prefer him as an actor but we know there are many of you who love him in his new role so we know you are not only wishing him a happy birthday but you may even be headed to Miami. And Kristin Cavallari and James Franco party down the block at Prive.

Now Leo and James Franco are the ones I care about. Maybe I should have headed to Miami this winter.

Colin's Crazy is Restrained

Colin Farrell has finalized a restraining order against the crazy woman who confronted him while he was promoting Miami Vice on The Tonight Show. Dessarae Bradford is now officially not allowed to come within 150 yards of Colin, his son James and James' mom Kim until 2009. Here's more from Colin:

"I am concerned that her harassing behavior has escalated and may pose an immediate threat to my wellbeing and the wellbeing of my family," his complaint stated.

"Ms. Bradford filed numerous harassing lawsuits against me and left threatening voicemails for my attorney. She also accosted me at The Tonight Show July 20, 2006, throwing books into my lap."

Good for him for keeping this crazy out of his and his family's life. And during all this drama, Colin is working on filming Woody Allen's latest movie. Lots more pics so just read more
