Cameron Premieres Her Box and Opens Up About Life

Cameron Diaz and James Marsden hit the red carpet together in NYC last night at the premiere of their movie The Box. It hits theaters this weekend, though the buzz has been pretty quiet for the scary looking film with its chic '70s interiors. Cameron has been busy up in Boston filming Knight and Day with Tom Cruise, but she took a break to talk to Parade about her new film. Here are highlights:

On life and being confident: "I don't have to prove anything to anybody. I know who I am. I have my own sense of myself. And the things that I do, I do for myself and to challenge myself and to have my own experience. I'm in a completely different place in my life now and I'm very comfortable where I'm at. I'm looking forward to the future. I'm looking forward to this afternoon and tomorrow and the next day and a month from now."
On being self-deprecating: "I don't think that self-deprecation is healthy for people. I think you should have a healthy relationship with yourself. We all have our up days and our down days. But I'm not going to walk through this world hating myself because somebody doesn't like me or doesn't think I'm pretty or that I should be ashamed that people think that I'm pretty. How am I going to live my life trying to figure out what everybody else feels about me? All I can do is know how I feel about myself."
On heartbreak: "Oftentimes, the way that we learn is to have our heart broken. As many times as we fall in love, our heart gets broken. But heartbreak is always a part of life, from not making a team in your favorite sport to your parents having a fight. Life is full of ups and downs. You can't know happiness without sadness and vice versa. The great thing about getting older is you become wiser and you gain knowledge and you grow. There's nothing wrong with that. That's a wonderful thing."

Cameron Diaz Leaves London and Heads to Comic-Con

Cameron Diaz was decked out in her new favorite travel outfit when she arrived at LAX from London yesterday. While she was overseas, Cameron apparently enjoyed attention from both Jude Law and Leonardo DiCaprio - though you are all pretty split over which guy would be a better match. She was paired with a few new male faces today when she appeared at Comic-Con in San Diego. Cameron joined James Marsden and director Richard Kelly to chat about The Box, which looks like a promising thriller despite its unusual premise.

Teen Choice Awards Aren't Just for the Young

We may have already checked out the beautiful ladies and casual men on the blue carpet but we're going to have to wait until later tonight to watch all the action that happened during the actual Teen Choice Awards Show. Miley Cyrus was the host who also performed along with Mariah Carey who once again dressed the part. The night was full of youngins' like the Jonas Brothers, High School Musical stars, and the cast of Gossip Girl but we were excited to see grown-ups like the Beckhams, Will Smith, and Adam Sandler. These A-listers aren't afraid to get goofy or show their gratitude for their young fans. Everyone's a Winner at the Kids' Choice Awards

The big party on Saturday night was all about the kids who were cheered on by big stars like Harrison Ford and Will Smith. Jessica Alba glowed in green with a huge grin as she accepted her award for Favorite Female Movie Star. Other winners included Harry Potter, American Idol, and of course Miley and the Jonas Brothers. Cameron Diaz won the Wannabe award for all her great work teaching others about the importance of the environment. She should also win an award for her insanely toned arms. It Was Another Slimy Kids' Choice Awards

After showing off their looks on the orange carpet, the stars got down to the real fun at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday night. Miley Cyrus was the night's biggest winner taking home the awards for Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Female Singer, but she managed to avoid being slimed. Orlando Bloom was not as lucky as he got the night's biggest sliming honor. Rihanna kept herself dry with her umbrella-ella-ella while her co-presenter Brendan Fraser got some of the sticky green stuff all over himself. Love seeing Shia and Harrison together on stage, but really, Mr. LaBeouf needs to figure out the hair - not good. Ashlee and Pete made fun of their mutual love of eyeliner while Cameron Diaz graduated from winning the burp contest to taking home the Wannabe award. Fun fun all around. Handsome SAG Men Played It Safe and Full of Smiles

Ryan Gosling was just about the only guy keeping it interesting with his fashion choice at last night's SAG Awards in LA. Along with his shimmery suit, plaid shirt and lack of tie, he wore a black ribbon on his lapel in honor of Heath Ledger. The rest of the men went pretty traditional, but at least all those handsome faces were there to keep us satisfied. Highlights (other than Gosling) included some not-frequently-seen-enough favorites like Casey Affleck, John Krasinski and Javier Bardem. Josh Brolin took a chance on cleanliness (heh) and planted a wet one on Jeremy Piven's cheek while Footloose stars old and new Kevin Bacon and Zac Efron posed together - cute, huh? Any men red carpet favorites last night? How do you feel about Brad Pitt's highlights with that salt and pepper goatee? Pretty special. Kate, Courteney, David & Adam CelEBrate On The Pier

A sunny LA Saturday brought some charity-driven celebrities out to the Santa Monica pier for the CelEBration to Benefit the EB Medical Research Foundation. Looks like a blast! Kate, Len and Lily enjoyed the rides while David Arquette tried his arm at the games. Obviously Courteney and Coco could use some over sized stuffed animal prizes. Adam Sandler's family just makes me smile. James Marsden made sure to spend some time on the randomly placed red carpet and Balthazar Getty was a good sport on the receiving end of the dunk tank. All sorts of activities! Nothing like spending a beautiful Saturday playing in the sun while benefiting a good cause, right?

Hairspray Says Good Morning, or Evening, Baltimore!

As a fitting finale (hopefully) to their lengthy series of premieres, the young half of the cast of Hairspray spent Wednesday night celebrating in Baltimore, the city that inspired the original John Waters film back in 1988. The awesome Waters himself was there and looked happy to be on the red carpet in his lime green pants. Amanda, Zac, Nikki & Elijah were even gracious enough to show off some moves at the after party. Marsden, on the other hand, just continued to look dreamy. After this lengthy lead up full of fresh faced youngins (and even more fresh faced Pfeiffer), I bet at least some of you are super excited that it's finally out today! Nick is Cosmo's Fun, Fearless Male

A slew of stars came out to congratulate Nick for being chosen as Cosmo's Fun Fearless Male of the Year. So, we can understand why Cosmo thinks he's fun - we've seen him in action. But what about the fearless part? Evidently Nick received a lot of flack when he used his break-up with Jessica as inspiration for his 2006 hit album What's Left of Me. But despite the criticism, he now says he's glad that he went with his gut. Here's more:

"I've certainly gotten my share of criticism from people who are like `how could you talk about all that? It's so undignified,'" he says in an interview with the magazine.

"For me, it was the greatest thing I could do to let my guard down and be willing to expose my emotions and put them into music. Especially when going through an experience like divorce, you have to find some outlet to get that out of your system or it'll eat you up."

Considering their whole relationship was aired on national television it seems pretty appropriate. Either way we're glad he did it, because it made for some great songs (and kept him on the map). Hairspray Party Still Going Strong

The cast of Hairspray kept the party going long after the film premiered in NYC. The star-studded cast is obviously very excited for their movie to hit the theaters this weekend, and it sounds like they couldn't be more proud of their project. The film had special meaning for its star Nikki Blonsky, who makes her debut in the movie and can't wait to spread the message behind Hairspray. She said,

"This has just been the most incredible dream come true for me. This is everything I've ever wanted and more -- just to get out there and show the world that different is great and uniqueness is beautiful, and that's what it's all about."
