Stars Sparkle, Burn and Sing at the American Music Awards

The stars of last night's American Music Awards hit the red carpet before heading inside LA's Nokia Theatre for the main event. Janet Jackson kicked things off with an energetic eight minute performance, and the evening's first award then went to the Black Eyed Peas. The Black Eyed Peas went on to take the stage to do "Boom Boom Pow" with a special Nirvana twist. The show went on with performances from Carrie Underwood and Shakira, as well as from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys with "Empire State of Mind." Unfortunately not everyone stayed on their feet - both Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert took tumbles while singing.

There were other memorable performances, from Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and not to mention Whitney Houston's return to the stage before she received the International Award of Excellence. Jennifer Lopez had a beaming Marc Anthony in the crowd as she debuted her new single and showed off those customized Louboutins. Michael Jackson won multiple awards, and his brother Jermaine took the stage to accept the award on behalf of their family. Taylor Swift took home the most statues, though she wasn't there and the upset of the night might have to go to Gloriana who won breakthrough artist - make sure to check out the full list of winners. Kate Hudson joined her Nine costars Fergie and Nicole Kidman, though Kate did have a chance to share a special moment with Alex Rodriguez. Paris Fashion Week had another big evening with the Yves Saint Laurent show and the launch party for Mario Testino's new book MaRIO de Janeiro Testino last night. Lindsay Lohan smiled big and posed with the famous photographer, so it looks like any negative reviews of her Ungaro show aren't getting under her skin. Kate Moss and Jamie Hince attended both the fashionable events with a quick costume change in between. Kate admitted that Fashion Week can be exhausting saying, "You have to be so young to do this. I don’t know how editors survive." Katy Perry also pulled double event duty without her FW partner in crime Rihanna or her new boy that most of you think is the perfect fit, Russell Brand.

Rachel Bilson continued making the rounds at Milan Fashion Week last night, getting decked out in black for the amfAR charity dinner. She was joined by Dita Von Teese and Janet Jackson, who posed for photos on the arm of pal Donatella Versace. Kanye West and Amber Rose made one of their first public outings since his VMA debacle earlier this month, with both of them looking as into PDAs as ever with her new lip ring to top it all off. Rachel and the Gossip Girls Keep the Fashion Fun Coming

Spring Fashion Week is moving right along in NYC, with lots of celebs turning out to take it all in. Rachel Zoe put aside her fashion flu to join Blake Lively and Brad Goreski last night at Marchesa to check out their Madame Butterfly-inspired collection. Leighton Meester kept her show stamina up after seeing 3.1 Phillip Lim yesterday, attending Proenza Schouler's urban scuba collection alongside Rachel McAdams and Anna Wintour, whose recent chumminess has people speculating about her future Vogue collaboration. Janet Jackson even stepped out for her first time, taking in Ralph Lauren today with his daughter Dylan.

The Stars Party in Honor of Marc Jacobs and Fashion

Marc Jacobs drew his usual star-studded crowd at NY's Fashion Week last night to show off his latest collection. Madonna and Lady Gaga, neither of whom were apparently specifically invited to the show, both arrived late and sat in the front row. They posed together for the cameras, fresh off taking the stage at the VMAs on Sunday. Lindsay Lohan changed out of her short dress into a sexy gown for the afterparty at Club Hiro, where Mischa Barton joined her for the festivities. Jared Leto and Rachel Zoe also attended the events as Hollywood supported one of their favorite designers.

The MTV VMAs brought its share of drama last night - some amazing performances, a heartfelt Michael Jackson tribute, and a huge moment that had everyone talking - it was a show that will go down in history. Check out all the winners here! The biggest story of the night was Kanye West making a scene when Taylor Swift won Best Female Video, but thankfully it all ended well when Beyonce Knowles sweetly called her up onto the stage to have her moment and he apologized profusely. The night was dedicated to Michael Jackson and kicked off with a touching tribute from Madonna and a performance including his sister Janet. The other big moment came when Kristen Stewart debuted her hot short haircut on stage with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner to debut another New Moon trailer - watch it here.

Eminem was also a big winner for the night, walking away with a Moonman and participating in some funny sketches with Tracey Morgan. Lady GaGa had countless costume changes and a performance that left her hanging covered in fake blood. We loved seeing Jay-Z finish off the night with Alicia Keys as well as Pink's trapeze act and Beyonce's big group "Single Ladies." Russell Brand's act is familiar after last year and we must admit we were happy to see Adam Brody on stage with Megan Fox to promote Jennifer's Body.

Janet Opens Up All About Michael and Love For Harper's Bazaar

Janet Jackson sat down with Harper's Bazaar for her first interview since the death of her brother Michael earlier this Summer. It's been a challenging few months for Janet - in addition to the loss of Michael, she also parted ways with her longtime boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri. She took a break from filming Tyler Perry's new film and working on her next album to talk about Michael's passing, his children, and being newly single. Here's more:

On avoiding the news after Michael's death: "It will drive you crazy. People can have rhinoceros skin, but there's a point when something's going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven't watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, 'How's Obama doing?' I haven't read a newspaper."
On Paris Jackson's emotional speech at Michael's tribute: "I was really proud. People said to me that Michael's daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She's a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They're with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going."
On being single after seven years with Jermaine: "I don't know if I'll get married again. I'll put it like this: If God wants me to, then I will . . . I've had people ask me out. I haven't entertained any offers thus far, but I'm locking myself in my work right now."
On Michael's legacy: "It's so beyond. I can't even begin. It's on so many different levels. Bringing light and love and happiness. He's just got so much love, and so much heart, and so much power through his music. Children and his love for children. People have told me, 'I am an American citizen because of your brother.' He wrote them a letter or something. He was just that giving, loving person. And the greatest entertainer there ever was. And is. I hope people get a glimpse of him now, some sort of picture."

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri Split

Sad news - Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri have broken up after almost seven years together. Jermaine didn't attend Michael's memorial service, and apparently he's been spreading the word that his relationship with Janet is over. Sources claim they'd been drifting apart for awhile, and supposedly Janet thought their personal lives and careers were too closely connected. It's been a difficult month for Janet, but we wish she and Jermaine all the best in their separate endeavors.
