Jennie Garth Opens Up About Split From Peter Facinelli

After being together for 17 years, Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli shocked us all last month when they announced they were getting divorced. Today on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jennie opens up about the split and how it's affecting the family. In this preview clip from today's episode, Jennie tells Ellen that she's not ashamed to talk about it and hopes being honest about the end of her marriage will help other women going through the same thing. She says, "I think at first I wasn't sure how I was going to make it through but I really learned that I am so much stronger than I thought I was." Watch the clip now.

It was confirmed today that Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli are divorcing. Peter's rep shared the former couple's statement with us, which read, "While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children. We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time."

Jennie and Peter got together in 1996, and tied the knot in Jan. 2001. It was Jennie's second marriage, as she was wed in the '90s to musician Daniel B. Clark. Peter and Jennie welcomed a first daughter, Luca, in 1997, with Lola following in 2002, and Fiona arriving in 2006. They're calling it quits after 11 years as husband and wife - take a look back at the way Jennie and Peter were.

Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli have split. The couple, who were married for 11 years and have three children together, released a joint statement to us saying:

"While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children. We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time."

Last night Peter stepped out for the premiere of The Hunger Games in LA with his oldest child, Luca, who tweeted, "At the #HungerGames premiere! Can't hardly wait! With the best daddy."
