The red carpet at last night's American Music Awards featured lots of gorgeous girls and sharply-dressed guys, but it was onstage where the most fantastic fashions were on display. Carrie Underwood is currently leading as your pick for best dressed on the way in, but we want to know what you think about what these five ladies wore during their performances. Stars Sparkle, Burn and Sing at the American Music Awards

The stars of last night's American Music Awards hit the red carpet before heading inside LA's Nokia Theatre for the main event. Janet Jackson kicked things off with an energetic eight minute performance, and the evening's first award then went to the Black Eyed Peas. The Black Eyed Peas went on to take the stage to do "Boom Boom Pow" with a special Nirvana twist. The show went on with performances from Carrie Underwood and Shakira, as well as from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys with "Empire State of Mind." Unfortunately not everyone stayed on their feet - both Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert took tumbles while singing.

There were other memorable performances, from Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and not to mention Whitney Houston's return to the stage before she received the International Award of Excellence. Jennifer Lopez had a beaming Marc Anthony in the crowd as she debuted her new single and showed off those customized Louboutins. Michael Jackson won multiple awards, and his brother Jermaine took the stage to accept the award on behalf of their family. Taylor Swift took home the most statues, though she wasn't there and the upset of the night might have to go to Gloriana who won breakthrough artist - make sure to check out the full list of winners. Kate Hudson joined her Nine costars Fergie and Nicole Kidman, though Kate did have a chance to share a special moment with Alex Rodriguez. Tonight's American Music Awards featured some amazing performances, but apparently the floor was a bit slippery! Adam Lambert lost his footing during "For Your Entertainment," but after a quick roll over he was back on his feet and didn't miss a beat. Jennifer Lopez also took a tumble after climbing up her man stairs singing "Louboutins." Check out the videos of both the falls - and thankfully they are both ok! - so whose was more dramatic, Adam Lambert or Jennifer Lopez?

Jennifer Lopez was in a mini dress on Monday for a photo shoot in LA, where between takes she sported mismatched shoes and snacked on pizza. She has lots of posing and promotional work in her future, as she gears up for the release of her new album coming in January and movie The Break-Up Plan shortly after in March. Come Sunday, however, Jennifer may be back in Miami to be with Marc and cheer on his Dolphins when they host Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen and play the Patriots.

Stars From J Lo to Will Smith Honor MJ at This Is It LA Premiere

Michael Jackson's final masterpiece, This Is It hit theaters at midnight last night, with a star-studded LA premiere just a few hours earlier to celebrate. MJ's brothers Jermaine, Tito, Marlon and Randy posed together to support the project while stars of stage and screen came together to honor the King of Pop. Will Smith doesn't do a ton of red carpets these days, but couldn't miss this one and NPH was dapper in black. Ashley Tisdale pulled her High School Musical costar Monique Coleman close while Adam Lambert and Katy Perry looked like two peas in a pod. Michael Jackson's last performance footage has done amazingly well in presales and he clearly has the love of all his celebrity fans and friends - including close pal Elizabeth Taylor - as it hits theaters for a special run.

Jennifer Lopez pouted for the camera after another weekend supporting the Dolphins in Miami. Paris Hilton went a little more risqué in her black ensemble while Tisdale paid homage to the man of the night with her vintage t-shirt. Paula Abdul was filled with emotion watching Michael up on the big screen. There will surely be a lot more reactions and praise as crowds flock to see MJ's famous moves in the peek at his preparations for his comeback concerts that never were able to be.
