John Gets Back to his Roots with Hairspray

Last night, the whole Hairspray cast was on hand to show off their film at at ShoWest in Las Vegas. John Travolta, a seriously hot Michelle Pfeiffer, Brittany Snow and newcomer Nicole Blonsky hammed it up on the red carpet in celebration of the remake of John Waters' 1998 classic cult film (and recent Broadway hit). In the movie, Travolta gets back to his musical roots, something he hasn't done for 30 years (the dancing in Pulp Fiction not withstanding), but this role is a far cry from his Saturday Night Fever Days. In case you missed it, John had to gear up in a fat suit and drag for this role. Sounds like a perfectly campy John Waters remake!

Hairspray Can't Stop The Beat In NYC, With Katie Holmes Surprise!

It was the LBD brigade at last night's NYC premiere of Hairspray. Michelle once again looked absolutely phenomenal. What is it about her -- lucky lucky eternally 25! It's always a treat to see the stars of the film, but Holy Katie Holmes! Yowza! She surprised the crowd just by showing up, but seeing her in that skin tight little number is what is more shocking for me. I do love seeing her with little Suri all the time, but youthful happy Katie is awesome to see, too. All the other ladies -- Amanda, Nikki, Queen -- looked outstanding as well, especially little Brittany Snow who looks a whole lot better than last week's too yellow number. Jess and John Take Their Love Tour to Midwest

We were super stoked yesterday afternoon when a reader sent in these pics of Jessica and John! How cute! Though they were in LA as recently as Monday morning, the two have since jetted off for the Midwestern leg of John's tour and were spotted in Minnesota on Monday evening. Looks like Jess will be around for a romantic Valentine's with her new man. The couple was at a local bar, Bunkers, to see some friends of John's play and he even did a little performing of his own. Jess was described as "tiny (really skinny!!) and sooooooo nice and cute!" Here's more:

I guess they both looked like they rolled out of bed.
She was wearing one of his t-shirts and wasn't wearing a bra.

She ate a cheeseburger and had a vodka/water. They were only there for
like an hour, but I guess they were really cool and were taking pictures
with everyone. Jessica wouldn't take pics while John was playing on
stage b/c she wanted to watch him. But I guess she was hanging out and
saying fans are what she loves and didn't mind taking pics w/
people!!!!!! OMG!

Hairspray Says Good Morning, or Evening, Baltimore!

As a fitting finale (hopefully) to their lengthy series of premieres, the young half of the cast of Hairspray spent Wednesday night celebrating in Baltimore, the city that inspired the original John Waters film back in 1988. The awesome Waters himself was there and looked happy to be on the red carpet in his lime green pants. Amanda, Zac, Nikki & Elijah were even gracious enough to show off some moves at the after party. Marsden, on the other hand, just continued to look dreamy. After this lengthy lead up full of fresh faced youngins (and even more fresh faced Pfeiffer), I bet at least some of you are super excited that it's finally out today! The Darjeeling Limited With Marc's Special Touch

The Darjeeling Limited opened the New York Film Festival on Friday, in typical Wes Anderson-quirky style. Not only did he premiere his back story short film starring Natalie Portman at the Apple Store on Tuesday, but the night before the big screening most of the cast and some friends gathered to unveil the special LV luggage that Marc Jacobs designed specially for the movie - loving the jungle animals! I'm sure Owen was missed by the rest of the Wes Anderson gang on the red carpet. Any event with Bill Murray and Anjelica Huston is awesome, it's just a rule, even if Mr. Murray is looking a little, uh, weathered these days. Meanwhile, way to sass it up Molly Shannon! I know you don't all agree, but come on, Adrien Brody looks kinda hot at these events, right? Right?

Stars Show Their Independent Spirit

Before the Oscars rushed in, Hollywood celebrated at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night. Angelina's baby bump was the talk of the town, but Cate Blanchett was the only mommy-to-be to take home a trophy. Ellen Page also scored one of the three awards that went to Juno, and you can check out the full list of winners here. Most of you were loving Kate Beckinsale's red carpet look, but she looked pretty stone-faced inside the show, even between manjoyable Josh and Len. The Independently Spirited Gather in Pre-Oscar Excitement

While the weekend's big event is just hours away, last night's Independent Spirit Awards brought out some big names and one very talked-about baby bump. You know, ICYMI, Angelina Jolie showed off that she is indeed pregnant on the arm of Brad Pitt/Robert Redford (just saying). Sienna looked very happy to be up for best leading actress, but lost to Ellen Page whose Juno also won best feature film. Check out all the winners here. Eva Mendes is apparently out of rehab and red carpet ready while, swoon, Keri and Shane are so my new favorite celebrity couple. Javier and Ellen were unintentional red carpet twinsies - who wore it better? We'll see if tonight's a repeat performance for the two Oscar nominees.
