Next Friday, Josh will make his debut as Captain Flynn on Disney Junior's hit Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Though you probably won't recognize his voice - he eases into pirate-ese quite smoothly - both mom and tot will appreciate the pirate's tales about his adventures on the Never Sea. Ashton and Lea Cause a Stir at Their New Year's Eve Premiere

Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michele got their flirt on last night at the LA premiere of New Year's Eve. She brought along her best friend Jonathan Groff as her date, but later even thanked Ashton on Twitter. Lea wrote to Ashton, "It was such an honor working with you. I cannot thank you enough."

Joining Ashton and a Valentino-clad Lea on the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre were their other costars, including Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Abigail Breslin. Hilary Swank, meanwhile, posed in a sequined Elie Saab gown. Katherine Heigl threw an arm around husband Josh Kelley, and Josh Duhamel accompanied wife Fergie. Sofia Vergara posed solo and looked amazing in a LBD. The cast moved on to an afterparty held at Hollywood and Highland, where Sofia tweeted that Ludacris joined in on the fun.

Amy Adams, Hilary Duff, and many other philanthropic stars posed for photos on the gray carpet in front of Mann's Chinese Theatre in LA last night for the official Beauty Book launch party. Hilary was joined at the event by her husband, Mike Comrie, and showed off her growing baby bump in a short, sequined minidress. Hilary's expecting a boy in the Spring, and it seems she's sticking with high-fashion looks instead of traditional maternity wear. Meanwhile, across the street at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel her newly single sister, Haylie, was partying with friends at Mindy Kaling's book celebration.

Amy Adams's been hitting the West Coast party scene this month with recent appearances at the LACMA Art + Film benefit and the premiere of soon-to-be children's classic The Muppets. Amy spoke with us at the Muppets premiere and said she's excited to share the film with her daughter and that working with Kermit was a joy.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon - A Rock'em Sock'em Blockbuster

Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third film in the Transformers franchise, has to pull off one major feat to please its fans: make up for the huge disappointment that was Revenge of the Fallen. Not only does director Michael Bay rise to the challenge, but he exceeds expectations with the big-budget blockbuster of your Hasbro-toy-loving dreams. The story is better, the jokes are funnier, the action sequences are epic. In a word, it delivers.

Sam Witwicky, the once geeky teenager played by Shia LaBeouf, is all grown up now and seeking his first postcollege job. Unfortunately, saving the world (twice!) and being BFF with the Autobots (aka the good transformers) aren't viable additions to his résumé, and he's plagued with the feeling of helplessness. Even his smokin'-hot girlfriend, Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who never once makes you miss Megan Fox), can't lift his spirits, and he ends up taking a job in a mail room. There, a seemingly cuckoo co-worker passes on some intel - the Decepticons (aka the evil transformers) are back - and thus begins Sam's fight to save the Autobots once again and prove that he's more than just a messenger.

To find out why Dark of the Moon is worth watching, just

The film doesn't take itself too seriously, and you shouldn't either. The premise is hinged largely on the idea that Neil Armstrong's trip to the moon was actually part of an investigation into a foreign object that had crashed on the moon. When it was discovered that the object was actually the Autobots' spaceship, a government cover-up set in for decades. It's unrealistic to say the least, but so is a movie about alien robots disguised as cars.

Since we're not in the theater for a believable story line, comedy becomes all the more important, and the laughs are injected at every turn. Sam's feelings about adulthood become comedic thanks to LaBeouf's exaggerated frustrations, and his unsung hero status becomes a joke that never gets old (thanks in part to his medal of honor that impresses nobody). The film also cashes in on its supporting players: John Malkovich and Ken Jeong steal scenes as Sam's bizarre new co-workers, while Patrick Dempsey is a perfect foil to LaBeouf as Carly's debonair boss.

With a solid cast under his belt (which also includes Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, and Frances McDormand), perhaps the biggest lesson Bay learns is that audiences are looking for a human heartbeat underneath all of those scenes between the robots. Don't get me wrong: there's still plenty of bot-on-bot action here, but we're not subjected to dull, overlong scenes. Instead, Bay plays up the relationships between the earthlings, focusing more attention on the story arc than simply bombarding the audience with special effects.

Aside from the final showdown that could have been 20 minutes shorter, the action sequences in Dark of the Moon are exhilarating. Bay's dominance couldn't be more evident, from the super slow-mo shots of Sam flying through the air to the operatic background music, but the scenes are heart-pounding and well-executed. This means we're also subjected to Bay's typical eye-rolling objectification of women (he did cast a Victoria's Secret model, after all), but the fun is well worth the gratuitous shots of Huntington-Whiteley's butt.

"Thrilled" Shia Debuts Transformers With Patrick, Josh, Tyrese, and Running-in-Heels Expert Rosie

Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley hit the Transformers: Dark of the Moon premiere last night in NYC's Times Square, which was decked out with a huge Transformer, Bumblebee, and about 1,000 screaming fans! Organizers of the screening went for a party atmosphere, complete with a DJ and even a host! Members of the cast like Ken Jeong and Josh Duhamel walked the red carpet along with fans of the franchise like Willow and Jaden Smith. We snagged a moment with an Antonio Berardi-clad Rosie, who told us about how her background as a model came in handy while shooting this movie. She said, "I think it helped me run in heels! I think that was one of the main things it definitely helped me with." Patrick Dempsey, meanwhile, walked the carpet with his wife Jillian by his side. The Grey's Anatomy star chatted about Rosie joining the mix of men. Patrick said, "She knows how to take care of herself in a situation with a lot of guys around! She's got a great sense of humor." Tyrese Gibson also weighed in on Rosie's role in the film, calling her "a sexy beast!" Shia, meanwhile, spoke about graduating from the Transformers franchise after three movies. Shia said, "I'm so thrilled. This is the best movie we've ever made. Had we not made a good movie, I wouldn't be thrilled. I'd probably want another shot at it."

Shia Breaks For a Global Press Tour to Talk About His Girlfriend, Spielberg's Advice, and Tom Cruise

The Transformers: Dark of the Moon cast was busy over the weekend, with Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, in silver Naeem Khan, kicking off a string of premieres and photo calls at a Berlin event on Saturday. The whole gang was together in Germany, with Shia and Rosie joining Michael Bay, Patrick Dempsey, John Malkovich, Josh Duhamel, and Tyrese Gibson at the city's Cinestar theater. They split up afterward, though, with a Burberry-clad Rosie and Michael heading to London to walk a blue carpet yesterday, Patrick saying hi to French fans, and Tyrese tackling Madrid. They'll be together in NYC in just a few days, so Shia, Rosie, and Michael can do more interviews. It's the third press tour for some of the guys, and Shia recently touched on the evolution of his friendship with Michael. Shia LaBeouf's girlfriend Karolyn Pho was another topic of conversation in an interview with The LA Times, and he shared some advice he's received from mentor Steven Spielberg. Shia said:

On Michel Bay: "[He's] sort of my big brother . . . We're both very game, very passionate people. Sometimes it's not actor-director. Sometimes it's two dudes yelling over explosions. Sometimes it doesn't sound like the friendliest conversation. But we love each other."
On his girlfriend Karolyn's influence: "Pâté? A cheese plate? That's a very 25-year-old deal. I can get down with some fig jelly and some cheese on a cracker . . . She's having me try different things. I was scared of fish, 'cause of my upbringing, being Jewish. Gefilte can ruin your entire seafood life."
On advice from Steven Spielberg: "The way Steven described it to me was, 'When Tom Cruise walks outside his house, he doesn't pick his nose. From the minute he leaves his door to the minute he comes back home, he doesn't pick his nose.' Now that's a certain way to live your life that I have no ambitions toward."

Shia LaBeouf and the Transformers Cast Kick Off Their Premieres in Russia

Shia LaBeouf and his costars Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Tyrese Gibson, Patrick Dempsey, and Josh Duhamel joined director Michael Bay in Moscow today for an early morning photo call followed by the Transformers: Dark of the Moon world premiere. The men suited up for their international debut, while Rosie stepped out in sheer skirt and gold top for the green carpet after changing out of the vivid Michael Kors gown she wore earlier in the day. Patrick and Rosie are newcomers to the action franchise, with Rosie replacing Megan Fox as Shia's onscreen love interest. In real life Shia's been kicking it with Karolyn Pho, after splitting with Carey Mulligan late last year. Josh may be overseas for work obligations but he's keeping the people of his hometown of Minot, ND, in his thoughts, tweeting them messages and well wishes after the town was recently hit with devastating floods.
