Newsflash - Indiana Jones Opens Today

Summer blockbuster season is officially in full gear! Iron Man kicked things off but this weekend it's all about Indy and die-hard fans are already in theaters watching the long awaited fourth installment of the Ford/Lucas/Spielberg film. Shia may be the newcomer but he already knows how important it is to take his mentor's advice. When ET asked Shia what he's learned from the veteran actor he said, "Stay humble." We love it and hope he sticks to it. The cast showed up last night in NYC to express their gratitude to fans for a special screening. Oh and some other celebrities like Eric McCormack showed up as well. He looks so cute, makes me miss Will & Grace a little. I wonder if they agreed with Buzz's review of the film.

Shia and Harrison's Indiana and The VF Cover

Well what do we have here? It looks like Shia LaBeouf has already scored his second Vanity Fair cover in less than a year's time - pretty impressive if you ask us. The legendary Annie Leibovitz shot the photos of the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull cast on the set, including Shia, Harrison, and Cate Blanchett. We also get a peek at what went into making the 4th installment of the Indiana Jones chronicles from the sources themselves - George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and Harrison Ford. Here are highlights:

Harrison on getting back into character: “There’s something about the character that I guess is a good fit for me, because the minute I put the costume on, I recognize the tone that we need, and I feel confident and clear about the character.”
Steven on teaming up with Harrison again: “I mean, we’re both older, and we both look a bit older, I think, certainly, but at the same time Harrison needed to recapture the caustic, laconic spirit of Dr. Jones, and certainly he was going to have to manage the action, and he did both of those things amazingly well, certainly far beyond what I expected.”
George on how the movie will be received: “I know the critics are going to hate it. They already hate it. So there’s nothing we can do about that. They hate the idea that we’re making another one. They’ve already made up their minds.”

George Lucas may have a pessimistic outlook, but we have a feeling that we're not the only ones who can't wait to check out the new film. How could you go wrong with all the fun of an Indiana Jones movie with great new additions to the cast?

Kate and Lily Are Still Partying Up a Storm

Kate Moss and Lily Allen spent their weekend lounging on a yacht in St. Tropez in their bikinis. Jamie Hince was around last week, but he missed these afternoons in the sun where the girls were joined on deck by their vacation companion, Karen Mulder's pal Jean-Yves Le Fur. While Kate's enjoying some fun in France, there's more going on with her career back in London. Simon Fuller bought a majority stake in her modeling agency, Storm - which makes for an interesting twist on her future plans with Simon Cowell.

Daniel Craig Has Some Princely Help Premiering Newest Bond

Daniel Craig found a way to make his injured arm look dashing at last night's royal London Quantum of Solace screening. The world premiere brought out some very special royalty indeed - Princes William and Harry both graced the red carpet looking dapper in their tuxes. Ever the polite Bond, Craig still found a way to shake William's hand. Craig had to field questions about the accident while filming that left him with an immobile wing but when asked about his favorite Bond girl, he had the perfect answer saying, "The one on my arm of course," about his lucky girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell. The intense looking Bond installment hits theaters in a little over two weeks and while seeing more of Daniel Craig will be a treat, I unfortunately don't think those handsome princes will be making the premieres with him.

Natalie Portman As Indiana Jones' Daughter

The highly anticipated return of the Indiana Jones series has been in the works for some time now. The fourth and final adventure with Harrison Ford may now include Natalie Portman. Natalie does have a great relationship with George Lucas and we know guys everywhere would love this casting call. Here's more:

THE PERFECT STORM star KAREN ALLEN, who is expected to reprise her MARION RAVENWOOD role in the upcoming Indiana Jones movie, let the news slip about STAR WARS heroine Portman at a question-and-answer session in New York on Friday (07JUL06). Allen spoke to Indiana Jones fans after a screening of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, and, although she was coy about her own part in the fourth film, she revealed Portman's name is being mentioned. She told fans, "I just heard Natalie Portman was cast as Indy's daughter." One fan in attendance says, "She (Allen) immediately changed the subject as if she knew she shouldn't have said anything."

Until this movie comes out we can all look forward to seeing Natalie Portman naked (again) in her upcoming movie, Goya's Ghosts.
